The Wedding
By Cindy Loves Jimmy
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters from Jimmy Neutron! I mean come on, how could I? Oh, and I also don't own Shania Twain's copyrighted song "From This Moment On".
She clutched the tropical arrangement of flowers in her hand tightly to get the nervousness out of her body. She was almost 10 steps away from making the biggest commitment of her life. She could smell the jasmine petals as the flower girl, Madeline, who was Libby and Sheen's daughter, tossed them along the folding chairs where the crowd was sitting on the beach. Libby was Cindy's maid of honor. She was standing on the right side of the arch, next to her husband Sheen, who was Jimmy's best man. Carl, on the other hand, was the priest.
When she reached the arch where Jimmy was waiting, he took her hand and stepped in front of Carl. They smiled at each other, and looked at Carl as a signal to begin.
"Do you, James, to have and to hold from this day forth, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, til death do you part, and promise to be true in good times and in bad, take Cynthia Marie Vortex to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do," he said as the smile that would stop a river from flowing spread across his face.
"And do you, Cynthia Marie Vortex, to have and to hold from this day forth, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, til death do you part, and promise to be true in good times and in bad, take James Isaac Neutron to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do," she said, and smiled in return.
"I now pronounce you as Mr. and Mrs. James Neutron. You may kiss the bride!" Carl shouted while bawling happily at the thought of them being married.
Cindy and Jimmy pulled closely together and kissed their first kiss as a married couple. When their lips departed, Carl spoke up.
"Well now that you're married, the book says that the Hawaiian tradition for marriages on the beach should be concluded with the married couple running into the ocean and tossing the bride's flowers into the ocean. It means good luck! "
"If it means good luck, we should go for it," Cindy stated. She grabbed Jimmy's hand and pulled him to the ocean. The waves innocently splashed against their legs, getting Cindy's dress wet, and Jimmy's khaki pants wet. Jimmy picked Cindy up, and she tossed her bouquet behind her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and they kissed passionately while standing in the ocean, forgetting everyone around them.
A couple hours later, the reception had started, and everyone was dancing to their favorite music. After a few songs, Sheen's voice was heard through the speakers.
"Hey all you people out on the dance floor, GET OFF! Its time for the couple of the evening's slow dance! So Jimmy, Cindy . . . GET OUT ON THE DANCE FLOOR!" Cindy rolled her eyes at Sheen, but laughed.
"Come on Jimmy, lets dance. Sheen, play "From This Moment On," would ya?"
"You got it Mrs. James Neutron! Haha, that sounds funny..." Cindy and Jimmy both glared at him, but he quickly replied, "But in a good way!" They rolled their eyes, but chuckled it off. They danced in each others arms, and it felt like no one was around them. It was just them, and the stars above.
(I do swear that I'll always be there.
I'd give anything and everything and I will always care.
Through weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow,
for better or worse, I will love you with
every beat of my heart.)
From this moment life has begun
From this moment you are the one
Right beside you is where I belong
From this moment on
From this moment I have been blessed
I live only for your happiness
And for your love I'd give my last breath
From this moment on
I give my hand to you with all my heart
Can't wait to live my life with you, can't wait to start
You and I will never be apart
My dreams came true because of you
From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn't give
From this moment on
You're the reason I believe in love
And you're the answer to my prayers from up above
All we need is just the two of us
My dreams came true because of you
From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
From this moment
I will love you as long as I live
From this moment on
When their dance was through, it was practically midnight, and some of the people had started to leave. Jimmy and Cindy were both tired from their special day, so they said their goodbyes to Sheen, Libby and Carl who offered to clean up, and also to the guests who had stayed later. They were off to their hotel that was right on the beach for a good night's sleep in their newlywed suite.
I hope you enjoyed it! If I get enough requests, I may right a sequel to this on their life after the wedding! I'm not actually sure if it's a tradition to toss the bouquet into the ocean in Hawaii, but oh well! :P TTFN!
