Frozen: A Love Story by fairady

"What are you doing?"

"I'm running in place."

"I can see that," Red growled barely resisting the urge to bang his head against the wall. It'd be much funner to bang Yellow's bright peanut head into the wall. Repeatedly. "What I meant was, why are you running in place?"

"Well," Yellow stopped and seemed to think about it for a moment. "I'm cold. Aren't you?"

He couldn't win. He just couldn't win. "Of course I'm cold. You know, the reason we're cold is because we're stuck in a freezer right? And you're the reason we're stuck in a freezer!"

"I'm sorry, Red," Yellow's arms slumped down dejectedly. "I was just trying to help."

"Help?" Red laughed hysterically. "Help! That's exactly what we need right now! How the hell is throwing a party going to help me? You know those people are only here to EAT US!"

"I'm sorry," Yellow looked down at his feet. Anything to avoid looking into his friend's angry face. It was his fault. He really should have known better. He was just too stupid to think right. Yellow blinked rapidly as he felt tears begins to form. "I just wanted to do something for you. Something nice since you've been so sad lately. I guess I just made it worse. I'm so sorry."

Great. He'd made him cry. Red felt all his anger and pettiness drain away in face of the sudden wave of guilt. "Forget about it, peanut brain. It's done and there's nothing to do about it."

"Ok," Yellow looked up hopefully. "So, do you still love me?"

Red sighed affectionately and kissed him softly. "Of course you big doof. Now stop asking silly questions while I try to find a way out of this."

"Ok," Yellow smiled shyly and leaned against Red. As far as he was concerned, everything was perfect.
