Deep... in the darkness... the petals of midnight fall,

Still... as the light fades... in the heart of Morgoth's hall,

Watch... on the water... there is no ship in sight...

As twilight turns to night...

Whisper... in the shadows... as the rose of terror dies,

Watch... as my eyes dim... and to home my heart it cries,

Can you hear... when night is near... the truth bellow the lies?

Come, for a moment close your eyes...

Lost! We cry, and gone we are!

We've fallen to the war!

Now nevermore we'll hear the gulls or waves upon the shore...

Or kiss the veil of midnight's bride, as in the sky she will reside,

Where on our chargers we did race, along the ocean shore...

We are lost! The fallen sighs, and none shall mourn our end!

Nevermore to see the stars and light the Valar's send...

Or ride the streams of frigid air, on fell beast back we tried,

On many days to touch the skies, before we died...

...And after too. we fought anew, in battles lost to the minds of man...

... But even then I saw the light... as any creature that has eyes can...

... Could I return and change my fate, from what is now to what was then...

... Don't think a moment I would wait, I'd turn homeward again... ... ...

Deep... in the blackness... the rose of fear lies dead,

A ray of light reveals 9 petals fallen from its head,

Now they wait... far from the sea... with still no ship in sight...

And they will wait... forevermore... till day lies black, and night is light.
