Shounen-ai: Yami x Yugi
Created 17th Nov. 2004

The house is very quiet. It is raining.

I pad softly upstairs to see what You are doing, and find You staring out the window. There is one large drop on the glass; as I watch it slips slowly, very slowly down, leaving a trail of wetness behind it.

I move forward on the carpet, and You notice the movement in the reflection of the glass. Amethyst eyes light up as You turn around, smile. This I love about You; always, You show your feeling right there in Your eyes, and I can see the joy there, the happiness so pure that the corners of my own mouth twitch upwards. Seeing this, Your smile grows to light up Your whole face, making You look angelic. I love Your smile.

You motion for me to stand beside you, and I do, noting the warmth that floods my entire self by just being next to You.

"Aibou", I say. "What are you doing?"

"Watching the raindrops", You answer.

"Why?" I ask.

You put your head to one side, pondering the question.

"Because", You say. "I can't decide how I feel, when I watch the rain."

I only look at You.

Seeing my confusion, You hasten to explain.

"Sometimes, people feel sad when they watch the rain, because it's so much darker than the sunshine and it makes them feel lonely."

I nod in understanding.

"But", You go on to say, "other people feel good when it rains, because even though the rain is dark and cold, inside they are safe and warm."

"I see."

"Yami?"

"What is it, aibou?"

"How do -you- feel when it rains?"

"I don't know."

You move closer to me, and rest Your head against my chest. Your arms slide around my waist. We stay like this for a while, just holding each other. And now I know the answer.

"Aibou?" I say.

"Mmmm?"

"I think I like the rain."
