Hermione: It’s finally here! The last Chapter of Haunted!
Nefertiri: It’s been a while since she started this, but finally she is done.
Hermione: So without further ado, I give you the last chapter of Haunted, and I’ll talk later after the chapter!
Disclaimer: We own nothing! So don’t sue please!
Hermione: The song for this Chapter is Missing By Evanescence; this chapter’s song is set to what Bakura is thinking! Oh, and the chapter is dedicated to Hikari Tsuki Chi because she went through a lot of trouble to get me the lyrics for this and they turned out to be a lot better then what I was planning to use! And a special thanks to Pharaoh’sEgyptianArabian! Because they suggested Missing as well, but it was after I had written this chapter! It’s totally okay, because this means you guys get where this next chapter was headed. Well maybe not, we’ll see once the chapter is done!
Missing
The room was dark as the sun started to set outside, small rays of light shown through the closed blinds of Ryou’s bedroom. His head propped up on a pillow as his body lay motionless on his bed. The Darkness had fallen asleep, Bakura’s fingers intertwined through Ryou’s snowy white hair as his thumb moved evenly over a spot feeling the texture.
“Ryou,” a sigh escaped his lips as he tightened slightly his hold on his lights hand.
“You think it wise to have summoned me?” asked a woman’s voice from a shadowy corner. “Yes, but please make as little sound as you can,”
“We do not want the dark one to awaken.” The first voice observed as she slowly edged away form her corner of shadows. Her long golden hair lay smoothly down her back making it seem as if she were truly standing still.
“This young one’s soul is weak and doubtful, he is uncertain of his future.” The woman stood over the bed, her blue eyes taking in the two boys. “The dark one fears that he has lost everything, he is uncertain of everything…”
“My poor masters,” The Change of Heart sobbed. “Please, I called you for help.” Her companion nodded, her silver head piece caught the light making it seem as if the room where glowing slightly. The woman with the golden hair brought her powder blue hands together and closed her eyes. A soft melodic whisper escaped her lips as she worked her magic to do what she could. A silver aura surrounded her and it went over to envelop Ryou…
Bakura slowly opened his dark brown eyes. “Ryou?” he breathed sitting up. Hope played at his heart as eh recalled what he had dreamed. “Mystical Elf…” he mentally kicked himself, “It was just a dream.” He felt like an ice cube had been dropped into his stomach. “Just a dream”
“Bakura,” a small voice whispered as Ryou squeezed Bakura’s hand and sighed, the light’s eyes remained shut.
Please, please forgive me
Bakura felt as if his heart had stopped. He could feel it. His link with Ryou was as it had always been. A small smiled of relief traced his lips as a tear fell. “Thank you, Ra.” Bakura breathed. He delicately picked Ryou’s head off of its pillow and pulled the cord that held the millennium Ring from his neck. It had found its own way to Ryou and now it would be lost again, this time forever.
But I won’t be home again
Bakura leaned down and brushed his lips on his light’s forehead to give him a kiss farewell. “Goodbye my Light.” He whispered and placed a trembling hand on his light’s smooth forehead. “I’ll never forget you,” he promised fighting back tears. “But you have to forget me… You will be happier that way…”
Maybe someday you’ll have woken up
Barely conscious you’ll say to no one
Ryou sat up in bed, how his chest hurt him with the daily agony of despair. “What’s wrong with me?” He asked himself lying back onto the bed. He closed his eyes and breathed in half expecting something to happen. Some one to appear. Some one who would say words of comfort, or someone to stop the throbbing pain that had been tormenting his soul for weeks on end. “No one’s here, it was just a dream.” Ryou mumbled his heat pleading for something he could not place. His soul yearning for something he did not know.
Isn’t something missing?
“That person… who is he?” Ryou groaned as he turned on his side completely awake. “I keep seeing him in my dreams…” Ryou mused. “He’s always there…” A tall well built man stood out in the few things he could ever remember of his dreams. The man’s wild hair always covered his eyes so that it was impossible to see his face.
You won’t cry for my absence, I know
You forgot me long ago
Ryou sighed, solitude was his biggest fear. The idea that no one else was around, that he was alone….
Some where in the darkness beyond the great grandfather clock started its strong song that echoed through the silent house….
Am I that unimportant…?
Am I so insignificant…?
“Ryou are you alright?” Yuugi Mouto asked leaning over in his desk to get a better look at his friend. “What?” Ryou asked his brown eyes returning to focus on his tri-colored haired friend. “I asked if you were alright.” Yuugi frowned. “You’ve been really out of it lately, is something wrong?” Anzu asked standing over the two boy’s desks, a since of worry shown through her blue eyes. “I’m alright,” Ryou said softly “It’s just been hard staying asleep lately.” He sighed, his eyes itching with exhaustion.
“Why? You don’t insomnia do you?” Anzu asked. “Oh no, it’s just that I keep having these dreams…” Ryou trailed off glancing over at Yuugi with worried eyes. Yuugi knew about the dreams but Anzu wasn’t someone he was planning to tell.
Isn’t something missing…?
Isn’t someone missing me…?
“Anzu! Come on, we’re going to be late for dance!” A girl with shoulder length brown hair said from the doorway. “I’m coming, Micheru” Anzu replied turning back to her friends. “I’m sorry, But I really have to go!” she smiled. “I’ll talk to you later guys!” she called as she grabbed her bad and left the two teens alone in the classroom. An uncomfortable silence surrounded them as Ryou and Yuugi each sat deep in thought.
“It was that boy again…” Yuugi said breaking the silence. “The one from your dreams…” Ryou nodded, burying his face in his hands. “I don’t want to see him in my dreams every night…” Ryou trailed off. “But every morning when I wake up, I miss him…” Ryou shoulders trembled “I’m so confused!”
Even though I’d be sacrificed
You won’t cry for me, not know
“It’s okay Ryou” Yuugi said unsure of what else to do, “First, I think you need some sleep, Come on, I’ll walk you home.” Yuugi said getting up and picking up his books. Ryou nodded once again and started collecting his things.
Though I’d die to know you love me,
I’m all alone.
Isn’t someone missing me?
Slowly they took the familiar path home. The two teen’s voices were unheard as they simply mussed over Ryou’s situation. A warm sensation burning in the back of his thought as his eyes burned in the back of his throat as his eyes burned and started to water. “I’m not going to cry!” Ryou told himself. “Only the weak cry…” Those words were foreign to him though they were tinted with a sense of familiarity.
Please, please forgive me,
But I won’t be home again.
Ryou glanced over at Yuugi noticing how somehow the teen seemed misshapen. His figure seemed to lack something that Ryou couldn’t seem to place. Sure his complexion showed that he was a loner, just like himself. Their only friends were each other and Anzu… but something about him seemed amiss. Much like with himself something seemed off.
I know what you do to yourself,
Shudder deep and cry out:
"isn’t something missing?
Isn’t someone missing me? "
Ryou screamed at himself in his mind, “Shut up! Quit being a paranoid git! There’s nothing wrong with the world, it’s all you, you idiot!” This sensation of getting yelled out seemed right; He supposed that it was his normally melancholy mood that caused this to seem right. Just like Yuugi himself seemed to constantly be depressed and only seemed to find enjoyment in staring at his duel monsters cards, particularly his Dark Magician. It somehow felt right to Ryou to be yelled at and insulted.
“Well I have to go this way,” Yuugi said softly as the reached a fork in the road. “Bye Ryou, call me if you need anything.” Yuugi smiled softly and turned to walk down to his street. “Bye,” Ryou mumbled as he continued walking home, his eyes fixated on the pavement he was walking on.
And if I bleed, I’ll bleed,
Knowing you don’t care.
And if I sleep just to dream of you
And wake without you there,
Slowly Ryou opened his front door unable to hold back the tears he had been holding back. He dropped his bag and looked into the gloomy shadow that was his living room. “Something’s missing…” Ryou whispered as he sat down on his sofa pulling his legs to his chest as the tears that were know no strangers fell.
Isn’t something missing?
His tear streaked eyes went over the dark figures of his living room as he hugged his legs. Something is missing….
Isn’t something...
…
