Jack found it amusing how things could change. He’d been using his favorite phrase for so long that most of the time he didn’t even notice he used it anymore. But things were ever changing and his favorite phrase couldn’t fight the change.

Thus far he’d used the new phrase only several times, in his office for one, once at a guys night with Daniel and Teal’c. Teal’c had raised his brow and Daniel shot him a glance but it didn’t go beyond that.

He’d yet to use it in front of Sam though. He loved her, and though he loved his new favorite phrase he didn’t want to hurt her, after all, one could misconstrue its meaning.

So thus far he’d suck with ‘for cryin' out loud’ around Lt. Colonel Carter. She didn’t need to know his new catchphrase just yet.

‘For Pete’s wake.’
