This Cursed Thing

The cursed thing!
Why must you be there?
Always growing,
Without a care?

I never know,
When it will be too late.
Is it my time?
Will I survive?

I will be rid of you,
Kill off you creator.
But for now,
For now I must suffer.

Will I have a successor,
To carry on when I fail?
Only time will tell,
If I shall get one in time.

My life is cut short!
But, how long do I have left?
I will survive my battle,
And be rid of this cursed thing.
