"Scream"

He screams – or shrieks, or cries: for what do you call a sound that cuts through to the bone?

I grab my skull, covering my ears, but now the sound comes from within, and that is even worse. I fear I may go mad if it doesn't stop.

Flashes of pain. Memories of a figure clad all in black. Sniffing, sniffing, and he's about to find me what was I thinking there's no way out he will find me –

Again.

All turns to white, blinding white and rushing in my ears. I am stabbed a thousand times; an old wound burns. My head pounds; I clutch at my heart. I need it to stop please let it stop I'll die I know it I can't take any more –

The cry is gone. Yet the pounding fails to cease, still in my head and all around me.
