December 29th. That’s what this day is, December 29th. The mood of this place seems to have finally hit the bottom. I don’t know if it’s possible for people to be more depressed.
I mean come on, it’s Christmas time. Have some fun; put a smile on your face for once. That’s what I’m bursting to say every time I get glared at for laughing or something. It’s enough to get any one depressed, being the only one in this place that seems to be un-depressed around this holiday season.
Well, alright. Everyone was pretty happy on Christmas. Even Harry seemed to get over his misery for the day. And he, if anyone does, has a good reason to be miserable. I mean, everyone’s really anxious because Voldemort’s back but really; Harry’s just recently lost his Godfather.
I admit of was a very merry Christmas, considering the situation. We all stayed at Hogwarts, me, Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Ron, Harry and I all got Hermione books, which I must say she was very pleased with.
I draw. That’s just what I do; it’s what I’m best at. I’ll sit down, push my red hair out of my eyes and draw. So I decided that’s what I’d have to give Harry. I wasn’t sure if it would make him happier or sadder, I just knew I had to do it.
It took me a really long time. I had started it over a year ago, when Sirius was still alive. We were all sitting by the fire and I had my sketch book out, drawing the two of them. I remember how I’d been so proud of it when I’d finished.
Then really recently, about a month and a half ago, I came along that picture. I knew I had to give it to Harry. So I fixed it up. I colored it and made it look the very best that it could. And on Christmas morning, I gave it to him.
His expression was hard to read. He seemed to feel a mixture of all different emotions. Happy, sad, grateful. And then I realized that he, like me, knew that this time of year was a time to be thankful. Thankful for what we do have, not only dwelling on what has left us.
