I sit alone, leaning against the wall of the bathroom, where my life ended.
I hear the droplets of rain caress the walls of Hogwarts outside. Oh, how would I love to feel that rain wet me again! But, this rain also reminds me of a young girl… a beautiful red haired girl ran in here with so much joy. I remember her joyful laugh. She was so happy that she found a friend. She sat on the floors of this lonely place, and wrote away all her secrets; her joys, sorrows, dreams…emotions.
I would hear her whisper as she wrote to the mysterious Tom, “Oh Tom, Harry looked at me today! Isn’t that wonderful?”
Sometimes it’s good to be transparent. But, sometimes, I wondered if she was more transparent than I am. I followed her and saw her walk all over Hogwarts unnoticed.
Like a ghost, she would walk without any echoes to her footsteps.
She gained so much confidence when Tom asked her to do favors for him. I saw her chest swell with pride… someone can finally trust her. She can finally call someone her best friend. She wrote with so much fever and passion, “I’m glad that you’re my best friend, Tom. I’m glad that…I don’t have to be lonely anymore.”
Later, I saw her walk in a dreamlike state and write with blood on walls. She did the unimaginable for her invisible friend. Yet, she kept so much faith in him. “He listens to me, and that’s all I want…someone that listens to me…” she would cry.
I heard from one the girls that walked past the bathroom that this young red haired girl was in a dungeon somewhere… “Her skeleton will lie there forever”, they said.
Drip drop…the droplets of water fall from the faucet in this lonely bathroom like her tears fell when she came here after the diary was destroyed…
That diary did make her strong for she fought side-by-side with Harry Potter… she helped in saving the world…
Sometimes, diaries can be more than they seem..
“Ten points to anyone that can throw the book through Myrtle’s head!”
I duck and hide again behind the wall, where I heard this story of the diary… the diary that changed a fragile girl into a hero….
