Little Moments
Disclaimer: I don't own Jimmy Neutron, or Mr. Bradley Paisley's song "Little Moments". Thank you, and goodnight!
Authors Note(s): The words in italics, other than these, are the memories, just so you know! And also, I skipped a section of the song, as it doesn't really fit into the fanfic.
"How many times do I have to tell you? So we can remember stuff that happened in the past when we are older! Why else would anyone make a scrapbook?" the blonde answered back, while decorating the pages with scrapbooking stickers and words that described the photographs.
After throwing a few pictures back into the shoebox, he found a photo of a red truck with the back end bashed in, sitting in their backyard. That day was still very clear to him, but it was a pretty funny day.
"Hey Cind, remember this?" He held up the photo for her to see, and she snatched it away from him.
"Oh, man! You still have this picture? I thought you burned it!" The male genius laughed as the memory came flooding back to him.
That pretty mouth say that dirty word
"See, I told you it doesn't take long for me to get groceries!"
"Usually it takes me forever.. It's probably since women spend more time talking to friends we see," she replied, starting up the red Chevrolet.
"Heh, typical," he retorted, but immediately regretted it, since Cindy shot him an ice cold glare. "I'm just kidding, Cin."
"I know," she smirked back.
And I can't even remember now what she backed my truck into
But she covered her mouth and her face got red
And she just looked so darn cute
As they reached their country home, Cindy was backing up the truck. All of a sudden, Jimmy and Cindy felt a huge "BUMP"!
"SHIT!" Cindy's face turned bright red with embarassment. She covered her face with her hands, and her eyes started to get moist.
"Did you just say what you think you said?" Jimmy asked, trying to cover up his laughter. She nodded her head, and wiped her eyes. He started laughing uncontrollably, and she started to laugh along with him.
"Why are we laughing again?"
"You look so cute when you're embarassed! Your first car wreck. And.. the first time I've heard you swear." She looked at him strangely.
"You think it's funny that I wrecked your truck? Well, that's something I can handle in a man." She leaned over to the passengers side for a quick kiss.
And I can't even remember now what she backed my truck into
But she covered her mouth and her face got red
And she just looked so darn cute
That I couldn't even act like I was mad
Yeah I live for little moments like that
"Sweetie, look what I found! Your last year's birthday pictures! Hah, these are great," she said, while shuffling through the party photographs. Jimmy moved from the floor to the couch to sit next to Cindy so he could look at them.
"Hey, there's my burnt cake! I told you to put the timer on, but no, you said you had a timer in your head. Ha!" Cindy stuck her tongue out at him.
"It actually wasnt that bad tasting once we cut off all of the burned parts-"
"-which was 3/4 of the cake, might I add! Everyone had a very tiny piece of cake that day. But you're right, it was pretty tasty."
She lost all track of time and burnt the cake
And every smoke detector in the house was goin' off
"Happy 23rd birthday sweetie!" Cindy greeted him with a kiss as he came through the door from work.
"Thanks Cindy. I feel so much younger now.." he replied, jokingly.
"Is that sarcasm I sense?" Cindy crossed her arms and looked at him with one squinted eye.
He sniffed the air as a sudden cloud of smoke filled the room. "Is that smoke I sense?"
"THE CAKE!" she screamed over the smoke detector which had decided to go off. She ran into the kitchen with Jimmy trailing behind her, a huge smile forming on his face.
She opened the oven door, and she was quickly engulfed in a large puff of smoke. She coughed as she shooed the smoke away with her hand. She grabbed a pot-holder and carefully pulled the dark cake out of the oven.
"I ruined your birthday cake, and your party starts in a half hour! Great.." Cindy's emerald eyes were starting to tear up. Jimmy pulled her into an embrace, and kissed the top of her head as he started to giggle. She gently pushed away. "What's so funny? I ruined your birthday!"
"You? Ruin my birthday? Never. It's just a cake Cin! It's not all burnt.. Well, okay, most of it is, but we'll manage! I just thought it was adorable that you actually cried over a silly little cake. It's not the cake that makes my birthday special, its spending it with you and the other people I love!" He laughed a little more as she buried her face in his chest and started laughing as well.
She was just about to cry until I took her in my arms
And I tried not to let her see me laugh
Yeah I live for little moments like that
He whispered, "Well this brings me to another memory from just last week."
And about the time she falls asleep, so does my right arm
I want so bad to move it, cause it's tinglin' and its numb
But she looks so much like an angel I don't wanna wake her up
"What a great day. Thanks for taking me to see the Northern Lights again. They were so romantic," Cindy said, gently drifting off into dreamland while laying on his arm.
"Anytime Cindy, anytime." He looked down at her as she slept peacefully and beautifully. He could feel his arm getting a tingling sensation as it was becoming numb. I want to wake her up, but she's so beautiful when she's asleep, he thought. Oh, what the heck, I want my arm back!
He gently slid his arm out from underneath her, and he gently took her in his arms. He carried her to bed, and placed her on her side. She stirred in her sleep and said subconsiously, "I love you James.."
"I love you too, my angel." With that, he fell asleep next to her. And his arm wasn't numb anymore.
Yeah I live for little moments
When she steals my heart again and doesnt even know it
