Package of Death

Sometimes when a shell explodes, the shrapnel pierces through the skin, into the flesh.

Another, it explodes far enough away to simply blind the eyes forever with its flash.

Another time, it explodes just close enough to destroy ear drums and allow its victim to no longer hear.

Another time it explodes quite a distance away, but it's only taunting you that it's coming closer and sooner or later…

You hear the whistle, then that's it, it's landed on you, and only pieces are left…

"Enough shrapnel here to build a Buick."

"Can you hear me soldier? Can you hear me?"

"When do these bandages come off me eyes doc?"

"Get me the saw…we lost the leg."

"I can't save it."

"He shouldn't have been brought in here in the first place."

"Too much damage…we lost him."
