Um yah anyone who knows me knows this was coming. I crossed Yugioh and Harry Potter. I hope you like it. There are NO major oc's (IE none of the guys has some long lost sister that just suddenly decided to join the gang.. gag) I'm going to overbalance one side from the other. Yes Shadow Magic is powerful but modern magic ain't no walk in the park either. And no I'm not going to have the Yugioh gang step in and mess up the prophecy and defeat Voldemort with extreme ease. This IS a Yaoi/Slash fic. Decided pairings are Yugi/Seto and Harry/Draco. Mentions Jou/Otogi. Now that I have that out of the way on with the show.

Yugi glanced at the 3 beside him, Ryou Bakura, Malik Ishtar, and Seto Kaiba. They were about an hour early. They had decided it would be best to figure out what was meant by platform 9 and 3/4 …. Not that they had figured it out yet…there was 9…and there was 10. Kaiba had scoffed at the idea. But his disbelief in things magical had faded after the Egyptian Memory Ark and after the Yami's had departed for the after life. The hikari's (including Kaiba – even though his Yami hadn't been unlocked…and after he started to believe) had been able to unlock their rising shadow powers. It seemed the Yamis had kept them at bay.

That summer they had all been shocked to receive owls at their homes. Apparently since the emergence of their powers it seemed that others in the magical community had taken notice. (Seto burnt 12 letters before finally reading it, but only after Yugi had found the 13 th) Apparently this Dumbledore person who ran a magic school in England, said that he was currently involved in a War against a dark wizard named Voldemort. And that it seemed that Voldemort had picked up odd magical signatures in Japan. Namely them. Thus they were in danger of being drug into this war. They had a new type of magic and one Voldemort thought might help him win the war.

Though several letters of correspondence they had figured out the situation. (Granted Yugi did most of the communicating…Seto wouldn't even go near it for weeks). They had talked it over and agreed to help out. Seto had agreed only in the end because Yugi was determined to go help save the world as always, and he couldn't bare to be away from him for a whole school year. His boyfriend could be rather persuasive when he wanted to be. He'd been tempted to bring him along to a few rather stick business meetings.

Mokuba had gone to America for the school year to stay with those Hawkins people. Honestly Seto didn't see what his brother saw in that Rebecca girl but she seemed trustworthy enough not to harm him.

People were starting to stare. They had been standing there for a good half and hour. Though Seto and Malik's glares kept them from saying anything.

"Maybe we are suppose to do something with those sticks" Malik whispered.

Yugi was then pulled back to when they had /got/ said sticks. The final letter of admittance had stated they need to go to this place called Diagon Alley to get their supplies. Thus they found themselves at this place called the Leaky Cauldron. It was a place that /should/ have seemed eerie to most people but with all they'd been through they easily brushed the feeling off. There they met a stern looking older woman who reminded Ryou of a school librarian ready to yell at you for talking to loud.

She introduced herself as Professor McGonagall and their guide for the day. She explained about wizard money and the bank. It was a little creepy to have Goblins handling your money but Kaiba said that at least they looked like what real bankers really were.

Then they went to get their wands. Malik was all too eager. He missed the Millennium Rod. This made Ryou a bit uneasy as he remember exactly what Malik had /done/ with the rod but Yugi managed to put his fears to rest. Making him realize just how excited /he/ was to get a wand. It took and hour and a half to get through the process. Taking Seto the longest as his heart wasn't really in it. Though the praise the old man showed on Yugi made the small boy blush. He said the strength he had found in his reaction was very very rare.

In the end Seto's wand had been 11 inches long, dragon's heart string, iron wood. Very good for Curses and Hexes the old man had said. Not that Seto cared.

Yugi's had been 9 3/4 inches long, unicorn hair, (though it had sounded like the old man was about to say something else), white willow. He said it was good for protection against dark magic and charms. At this Yugi smiled.

Ryou's had been 10 inches, phoenix feather, red oak. Great for transfiguration (at which their guide seemed to smile for the first time that day. They later found out she was the transfiguration teacher) and stealth spells. At which Ryou blushed a bit. His modesty had never left him.

Malik's had been 10 and 5/8 inches long, dragon's heart string, Japanese maple. He had swished it around a bit testing its feel when the guy told him it was good for healing magics. Malik stared at the guy like he had grown a second head but soon went back to playing with his new toy.

The rest of that day had gone by quick.. McGonagall had left them to be fitted for robes (When she realized that this was going to be a task that took a while) to retrieve their books and other supplies.

Yugi was having a ball and Seto didn't mind the show. Yugi looked sexy in robes. Well to Seto Yugi looked sexy in any thing but hey. They had both ended up with the necessary school robes but Yugi, always having fashion on the brain bought several other sets. Mostly black (as it was his favorite color) and a dark blue one, and a purple one that matched his eyes (at Seto's request). The 3 sets of dress robes they had chosen looked rather elegant as well.

Marik and Ryou being a bit more conservative went with what the list had said. Though they did both pick out two extras for "fashion" An emerald green and crimson red for Ryou, and a Royal Purple, and Grey one for Marik.

The Professor returned just as Yugi was being fitted for his last Robe.

One the way home though they spotted the pet shop "Professor it did state we could bring a pet correct?" asked Yugi staring at the shop.

She nodded a bit "Yes I guess we have a bit more time if you wish but not much" Stated McGonagall as the teens entered the shop. There were all kinds of animals around. Malik wandered over to an exotic looking bird, he remembered Marik telling him of such a creature. The sign read "Egyptian Rainbow Bird" It was beautiful. Its Body was a mix of red yellow and orange. Its head a deep purple. Two feathery antenna things came out of its head that were green and blue and its tail feathers were an explosion of all the colors.

He immediately bought the bird. Finding out from the clerk it was female. "How about I name you Kanikatarik it means dark warrior" he whisper to the bird. "Nika for short?" The bird cooed in response to its new name and Malik smiled.

Ryou had however taken up interest in a small smoky grey kitten. Ryou reached out it pet it and it met his hand mewing in response. Ryou's face lit up "Would you like me to adopt you. You can come with me to school eh?" Ryou said to the little kitten. He picked it up. It was female. "How about I buy you and call you Ash? Would you like that?" Ryou said petting the kitten. Again another mew in response. Ryou cuddled the kitten in his arms and purchased her. She seemed happy in the arms of her new owner.

Yugi on the other hand wasn't finding it as easy to connect with any of the animals. He thought maybe a cat since they were regarded as gods in Egypt but none of them seemed /right/. Thus he was left to search the shop and its odd creatures. It kinda creeped him out. It seemed all the creatures were watching him…judging him.

Then a strange creature jumped in front of him and started to swing its tail. The creature had deep blue eyes and black and purple fur. At first it looked like a cat but that idea was quickly dismissed as it stood. It was sleeker then cat. Or at least any Yugi ever saw. Its tail about a foot longer as well. It also looked to intelligent to be a cat.

/Take me master/ sounded in Yugi's head.

/Mahado…./ Yugi said in a stunted state.

/I swore to always protect the Pharaoh and in this life you are him. And with this new event I wish to be able to serve you. I've taken the form of one of the bastets. A cousin to the cats and found only in Egypt…usually/

Yugi nodded and picked up the cat like creature. The store keep were stunted not only that the creature had gotten out if its cage but that it allowed someone to touch it. It had bit everyone who had come near it in the past 2 years.

About that time Seto approached the counter with a snake. It was bout 2 foot long and silver. Yugi was about to question Seto when he got the "I'll explain later" look.

Pleased with their purchase they left that day. McGonagall didn't say any thing but she did seem a little leery of the creatures they had bought.

Later the others told of why they had picked their pet. Yugi had reverted to calling his catlike creature Mahado as that's who he was. The others were a little shocked and awed at the former priest's loyalty but glad to have someone else they trusted watching their back. They also found out Mahado could change into his more human like state and of a creature the size of tiger.

Malik explained that the rainbow bird had always been one of Marik's favorite creatures and Yugi nodded remembering the creature from conversations with Yami. Ryou said the kitten had simply seemed to call out to him. It felt right.

Though when they got to Seto he seemed reluctant to talk but as always he could never deny Yugi.

"It asked me to take him." Stated Seto in a low voice.

"What?" said Yugi confused.

"It spoke to me. Asked me if I need a pet and that if I did to please take him. And continued to give a rather intelligent reason as to why he would be helpful and that his name was Riku but I could call him what I wish if I was to be his pet." He muttered "I'm going insane. Magic wands and talking snakes" said Seto under his breathe.

"Really he talks I want to see." Said Malik looking at the sleeping snake.

Seto awoke the snake. "Yes Master Kaiba-Sama" it replied.

"Say hello to my friends" Seto replyed.

"Hello friends of Master Kaiba-Sama" the snake replied as

"Happy now?" Said Seto to Malik.

"Dude you said the snake talked not that you hissed at it." Said Malik.

"What? I did not hiss" said Seto "But I'm about ready too."

"Seto-kun, the snake didn't say anything" said Yugi with a blush.

/It did indeed speak to Seth, Young Pharaoh-Sama. And he spoke to it. But in the snake language. It seems the old priest understands it/

Yugi blinked as Malik and Seto were about to get into it.

"Seto have you ever, you know talked to snakes before, or had the chance too?" Yugi asked.

Seto looked at him "No though I didn't take up snake chatting. This is actually the closest I've ever been to a real one."

"Mahado says that you were talking to the snake but in its language, that you understand it not the other way around. Must be part of the magical abilities"

"Ah why does priest boy get a cool power like that" Said Malik sinking back into the seat.

"It's probably common in the wizarding world" stated Ryou.

"Yah I imagine. Being able to talk to animals would be a bit easier" Yugi said nodding.

That's why now Riku was currently curled around Seto's body. Ash and Mahado were curled up in a carrying cage (Yugi almost freaked out at locking up Mahado like that but the now bastet said it wasn't a big deal if it was what had to be done). And Nika was sitting proudly in her cage under a sheet.

"No I don't think so." Said Ryou. He walked over an inspected the walls between the two.

"It's not some kind of password. I doubt that old man would have forgotten to tell us and if he had there's no way you or Yugi would have forgot it." Said Seto his arms crossed.

"Well that old fart forgot to tell us something" Said Malik.

As he was speaking another group was entering the area.

"I don't know why we had to get up an extra hour early to catch the bloody train" Grumbled Ron.

Hermione smacked him in the back of the head. "We told you Ron safety. Its going to be crazy crowded here soon."

"Yah yah yah." Ron said shoving his hands in his pockets.

"I wonder what the new students will be like" stated Harry.

"Yes it is rather odd to have four new students in the 6 th year. There has only been 2 other times Hogwarts has accepted in students older then 1 st year." Stated Hermione.

"Did you hear where they were from?" asked Ginny running up beside the group. Her and Ron's parents were a little ways back and other members of the Order were…discreetly hidden.

"No" Shook Harry's head. He had over heard about them while going to a meeting with Dumbledore this summer. Her heard McGonagall and Dumbledore talking about them.

They reached the platform and stopped. They hadn't expected to run into anyone this early. But here were four kids standing next to luggage racks seemed to be examining the space between platform 9 and 10. Harry had never seen them before. Though he instantly assumed by their age they might be the four new students. Though 2 of them did look rather familiar….especially that kid with the crazy hair.

"Crazy psycho, how the hell are we suppose to get through the old man never told us that!" Harry heard the one with tan skin and platinum blonde hair.

"Marik I'm sure there is a simple explanation for this. Just one we haven't figured out yet" Said the one with white hair.

Harry grinned at his friends "I think these are the new students"

"Really?" said Ron face excited.

"How can you be sure Harry?" Hermione said concerned.

"Listen to what they are saying. Anyway I'll find out." He said as he moved up past his friends to the group.

"Hello" Harry said to the one with the weird hair. He seemed to be the calmest of all of them.

"Hello" Yugi smiled at him.

"You wouldn't happen to be looking for Platform 9 and 3/4 would you?" Harry asked.

Yugi jumped up with energy as the others turned to look at him. "Yes do you know how to find it?"

"Yah." Harry said point to the pillar. "You have to walk though that" Harry laughed at the look on Yugi's face. "It's a portal"

"Well glad it's something so obvious" Malik said sarcasm dripping from his voice.

Malik thus went up and inspected the wall.

"Its best to take it at a run the first time" Said Hermione walking up behind Harry.

"Like this" Ron said as he ran through the barer and disappeared.

Harry watched for the shocked look on the faces of his companions but they just nodded in understanding.

Malik was the first to go through. Then Ryou, Followed by Hermione then Ginny.

"Well thanks for the tip or we'd be here all day." Yugi said with a smile. The stone cold gaze on Seto's face never left either. Neither did he talk.

Seto just made a half grunt in response as he pushed his cart through the door.

"Not very friendly is he?" said Harry to Yugi.

Yugi just laughed. "He had a rather nasty childhood. He's always wondering what peoples motives are when they speak to him. It took me 3 years to get him to trust me and another year after that before he would call me a friend, but it was worth it in the end."

"Well you two better get going" Said Mrs. Weasly. Harry nodded and motioned for Yugi to go first he did so and came across on the other side.

Harry was shortly behind him but the scene made Yugi smile. The train was grand but Malik seemed to be getting along well with the one named Ron. Apparently about what was done for "fun" at Hogwarts. Ryou was talking with the Hermione girl, the subject was a bit quieter and about some book Yugi had never read. Seto was leaned against the wall as the one named Ginny was trying to make conversation with him…and failing miserably.

Hermione turned to the group. "Why don't you sit with us? That way we can tell you a bit about Hogwarts before you get there."

Ron shot Hermione a look that said he didn't think it was a good idea. "We can talk later Ron" she said briefly. Apparently these three had their secrets. That was fine though so did they.

They made their way onto the train. When Marik declared that they would be taking /that/ cart. Yugi wasn't sure what the difference was but didn't want to argue with the Egyptian.

Yugi sat down next to the window. Harry across from him, Seto beside him. Ron sat next to Harry and Ryou sat next to Seto and across from Hermione. Malik sat next to the door and kicked his feet up in the empty place as Ginny had claimed a different car.

"So where are you all from." Said Hermione with a smile.

"I was originally from Britain but moved to Japan a few years go" Stated Ryou with a smile on his face.

"Japan?" Exclaimed Ron. But Yugi nodded.

"Yah that's where me and Seto are from" said Yugi.

"I was born in Egypt and lived there most of my life. Been to Japan on and off too though" said Malik off handily.

"Egypt? I won a trip there once. It was awesome" Stated Ron now looking at Malik like he could praise him.

"Speaking of which I'm going to let Mahado out now that we are on the train" said Yugi as he unlocked the cat. The strange black and purple creature crawled out and took up residence in Yugi's lap.

"Is…is that what I think it is?" Hermione asked eyes wide.

"This is a bastet" said Yugi stroking Mahado.

"But how….their rare…and very temperamental ...usually only found in Egypt They were known as the Pharaoh's cat, even though they aren't a cat at all. More like a cousin. But still very rare and almost never bound with humans!" Her voice had started out slow but grown.

Yugi blushed. "Well he kinda picked me. Its hard to explain I guess." Yugi wasn't about the tell the girl that he was the reincarnation of a 5000 year old pharaoh and that the bastet was the reincarnation of one of his high priests.

"I knew it!" Harry yelled. "You're the one they call the king of games aren't you? Dudley is really into that stuff."

Yugi blushed again and turned his head looking at Seto who was starting to twitch. "Yeah that's me."

They continued to converse about random things. Yugi explained Duel Monsters to the group. Ron was really excited. Ron and Harry then in turn explained Quidditch, which Malik found really exciting especially the part about the beaters. He had a gleam in his eye. Hermione Explained about the four houses and that they were in Gryffindor. By this time the train had already left the station.

Then the door slide open and there was Draco Malfoy standing, minus his usually goons.

"So this is where you decided to hide Potter. Interesting company" He stated in his normal draw.

Ron immediately jumped up. " Can it Malfoy" he said as Harry reached out and grabbed his arm.

"Common and sit down Draco." Harry stated pulling Ron back.

Ron then turned to look at Harry like he had grown another head as Draco plopped down.

"So the coast is clear?" Harry ask Draco as Hermione was looking between the three.

"Yep" Draco said leaning back.

"Ok so what's going on? He's the enemy remember Harry? I can spell it for you e-n-e-"

"Ron a lot changed this summer I told you that." Harry said calmly.

"You didn't tell me /this/ had changed" Ron made it sound like it was the most important thing of all.

"Lets just say dear old dad made me an offer I had to refuse. Being a bad guy was fun when I don't really have to do anything to evil. But With /him/ back Daddy decided I needed to join his private fan club or leave the family. So I acted nice. Contacted Dumbledore earlier this summer. Ended up crashing with Harry at Hogwarts for about 2 weeks while father was out. The first two days we spent trying to kill each other. Then we had an awakening if you will. It was decided it was best that I went back to the manner until school started up. I'm supposed to be inducted over the Holidays, so I was safe till then. Now I'm safe at Hogwarts. Father has lost his influence with the ministry but kidnapping is still a great offence. " Draco said.

Ron eyed Draco with a looked that made it more believe able that he'd rather string the man up by his toes then trust him.

"Are you sure it isn't just some trick?" Ron said look at Harry wishing he would say yes will all his heart.

"Yes Ron I'm very sure." Harry said in a low tone that left no mistake in his voice.

Hermione looked between her two friends unsure of what was going to take place. They had all forgotten about the four foreigners in their presence. Seto was feigning disinterest but only Yugi knew he was just as curious about this situation as he himself was. Yugi just hoped it didn't get violent. Ryou was bracing himself for a fight he felt was coming. He could feel the tension in the air. Malik felt for the blonde new comer. He remembered a similar conversation Yugi had had with his friends Jounouchi and Honda at one point when it came to his trust worthiness.

Ron eyed his friend for a moment longer then sat back down. "Good I was tired of all the insults and bickering" (A/N Whoot for once Ron isn't an inconsiderate asshole!)

The tension in the room seemed to be lifted and Malik noticed that the blonde seemed to relax a bit though before if you looked at him you couldn't have told he was tense. The one known as Harry was much more obvious about his relaxation.

A look of 'not yet' passed between Harry and Draco. Ryou and Marik picked up on it as they had seen similar looks pass between Yugi and Seto, who now seemed to both be interested in the landscape.

"So who are your new friends?" Draco said in a draw.

"They are transfer students." Harry said quickly.

"This is Yugi," Harry offered pointing out the petite boy. Whose thoughts seemed jarred back to the present.

"Hello nice to meet you." Yugi stated extending his hand. As Yugi shook it he felt the boy's underlying potential with shadow magics. He had been held close to the darkness for long. Yugi doubted he had enough to ever open a portal to the shadow realm or summon a creature but perhaps in time he could learn to command the shadows to do simple tasks. He would have to talk to him about it later.

But the sensation on Draco's end was something altogether different. Something deep inside him stated /Master/ and that he should follow this small boy. He tried to fight it off at first. He wouldn't have anyone as a master not his father, not Voldemort, not even Harry so this small boy would not control him. But the feeling continued it wasn't control of the boy's life that seemed to be spawning deep inside him. No he knew he could trust this person. It was like he had come to him.

Draco eyes flickered for a moment. Just one but it was long enough for Yugi to catch it. He didn't know what it meant at the moment but it wasn't something he would forget soon. /My life My life is sworn to protect my king/ an image flashed in Draco's head.

Draco shook his head to get rid of the thoughts. Contemplating them now would be dangerous. "Nice to meet you as well." Draco stated late but not to late that it couldn't be over looked.

"This is Seto" Harry said moving on to the next body. Seto didn't extend a hand. Draco picked up vibes of ice of this man. Draco simply nodded. He knew the type. Hell he was the type. Frankly being this friendly made him sick but if it made Harry happy he would do it. The boy didn't have much to be happy about when Draco had first met him.

Honestly those first two days at Hogwarts had been Harry trying to get Draco to kill him. On the third Harry broke down asking him to finish it. The flood gates had broken and Draco saw something he didn't believe he ever would. Harry was lying like a broken doll on the floor sobbing. Anything and everything poured from his mouth. His childhood his betrayal and his loss. He didn't seem to care he was pouring his soul out to his greatest rival- no correct that. Draco could never be considered his greatest rival. No that was Voldemort. Draco was just some annoyance at school.

Then Draco did something that shocked them both. His icey glare gone he bent down to Harry and gathered him into his arms. He was so light it almost made Draco cry. He did cry actually but he would deny that fact to his grave. He comforted the boy held in his arms and took him back to his room. Laid him down on the bed and slept. It was the first time the nightmares didn't come – for either of them.

The next day Harry heard Draco's story. The halls of Hogwarts also became much quieter. Neither of them knew exactly when their relationship took the next step but over the course of the next week in a half they were rarely seen apart. Hand in hand which was odd as neither had been use to physical contact. At night though they stayed in there now joint room holding each other close and banishing the dark creatures of the night away. As far as intimacy was concerned they never did anything more then kiss and sleep in the same bed. But to them at that time it was perfect.

Next Harry moved on to the boy with silvery white hair and bright green eyes that rivaled Harry's- almost. "This is Ryou" Harry stated. (A/n I know in the anime Ryou has brown eyes but in the first series (the one only shown in Japan) Ryou has green eyes and looks so much sexier so I gave him those beautiful green eyes)

"Pleasure the meet you as well." Ryou stated reaching out to shake his hand. He seemed kind and sweet but less energetic then Yugi.

Draco took his hand and shook it "Nice to meet you. But if you don't mind me asking why are you transferring if you have a British accent?" asked Draco.

"I was born in Britain but ended up moving to Japan." Said Ryou politely.

"Is that were you are all from?" Draco asked honestly curious. He heard Japan held some strange mystical but powerful magic.

"Well all except Malik here" Ryou said pointing to the boy beside him.

Draco looked at the boy beside Ryou. Bronze skin platinum blonde hair and brilliant eyes lavender eyes very muscular. The boy held himself like a walking, breathing God. Malik's eyes turned on him. He was expecting the same cold response he had received from Seto but this was different. In his eyes was a look of understanding.

"Don't be polite if you don't want to be. It will get you into trouble I can tell your wondering I'm from Egypt if you must know." Said Malik quickly then looked away.

Draco was stunned how had the boy known that this was bothering him? But try as he might he couldn't get angry at him. Egypt the boy had said? This was really an interesting bunch. This year at school was shaping up to be a very memorable one.

Small chitchat was had after the introductions. The room was still slightly tense but after Draco managed rather restrained to apologize Ron and Hermione for what he'd done over the years. Yugi giggled a bit.

"What?" Ron asked confused at the petite boy's laugher.

"Just reminds me of when I made Seto here tell Jou, a friend of mine back in Japan, he was sorry for calling him a worthless dog all the time."

Seto just crossed his arms and grumbled a bit "Well it /did/ loose its charm after Otogi started using it as a pet name."

Ryou giggled some more "Yes I can remember him accusing you of trying to steal him away. I think that's one of the few times he actually got you."

Seto simply crossed his arms and didn't say anything.

"Your cute when you pout you know that?" said Yugi moving in his seat so that now his head rested against Seto's chest and he could look up into his eyes.

"I am not pouting." Seto said

"Well we should get changed the train will be arriving any time now" said Hermione as she stood.

They all moved to put on their robes. Yugi and Seto helping each other out, though it seemed to Hermione that Seto would rather be undressing Yugi. She was shocked to find that they were so open about their relationship. She wasn't homophobic by any means but it was still a surprise to see a couple /not/ trying to hide it.

Soon they were dressed and the train arrived. Harry raced off the train looking for Hargid and smile brightly when he heard the "First Years, and New students this way!"

Seto Yugi Ryou and Malik made there way behind Harry who gave the giant a hug.

"Good ta see ya 'Arry" Hagrid said with his thick accent.

"Good too see you too Hagrid" he said as he stepped back.

"Who your new friends Harry?" (a/n sorry not really good with "hagrid speech") Harry said looking at the four behind him.

"These are the new students Yugi, Seto, Malik, and Ryou." Harry said

"Well nice to meet ya. But we better hurry up." Said Hagrid ushering the first years into a boat. Yugi, Malik, Seto and Ryou all took one boat to themselves.

They whispered to each other "Do you think we can trust them?" Malik asked.

"Yes, and they seemed to be very involved in this war. If we want them to trust us with information we have to trust them. I suggest we pull the four of them off to the side and explain things" said Yugi.

"I'm worried about the one named Draco." Stated Seto.

"Don't be he's in love with the one named Harry." Said Ryou.

"How can you tell?" Yugi stated looking at Ryou.

"Because him and Harry act just like you and Seto did. Still do sometimes." Said Malik with a snicker. "Plus Harry probably wouldn't let Draco be "left out"

"True" Said Ryou.

"Alright its settled then" Said Yugi as he glanced up at the oncoming castle.

The rest of the trip was made in relative silence. The younger children around them seemed in awe and wonderment but after what those four had been through it wasn't much. Yugi imagined the pyramids held 10 folds the secrets this castle did.

Once inside Hagrid left them. The saw the same woman who had led them around Diagon Alley.

"Quiet Quiet the sorting is about to begin" She said in a stern voice.

The doors open and the woman led the group in the four teenagers in the back. The four looked around and saw the house tables sat up. Harry, Ron and Hermione at one table and Draco at another. Then this ragged hat sitting on a stool sprang to life. Malik almost started laughing as it explained its job.

"Must be boring having that as a job." Malik whispered into Ryou's ear as he laughed.

She seemed to be going through all the first years before she reach the rest of the group. Yugi seemed to be watching with interest. Seto looked bored. Ryou seemed deep in thought and Malik was scanning the room watching the other people.

No one seemed to notice them yet which was fine in Seto's book. But after the last student went the old man Dumbledore that had brought them here stood.

"As you all know by now these are grave and dark times. But we must stand strong and stick together. We are in a war. For this reason four students have elected to join us this year. They are here to help us and are our allies. Treat them well." With that he pointed out the four in the back. They each stepped forward.

"Bakura, Ryou" came Professor McGonagall's stern voice.

Ryou stepped forward and took his seat.

"Well isn't this nice I have to say I have met someone this pleasant in a long time. Hikari that's what your called eh? I can see it the light shines in you greatly. Loyal and true and a good friend. You'd fit in well in Hufflepuff, but that bravery in you yes yes. I say

"GRYFFINDOR" (A/N I'm only doing this for the purpose of my story…I really don't like Gryffindor….nor think Slytherins are evil blah blah blah.)

With this the hat was removed and the far table where Harry, Hermione and Ron sat erupted into cheers. Ryou blushed and made his way over taking a seat next to the three.

"I knew you were one of us I just knew it!" Ron exclaimed grinning his head of.

"Ishtar, Malik"

Malik strode with confidence towards the hat and Draco was reminded of his earlier thought of a walking God. It seemed though he wasn't the only one that thought that. Most of the female population seemed to agree with him. And several of the males as well.

The hat fell on his head. "Oh my oh my. You have quite a history do you not. And your not making my job easy no no. Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw simply wont do. But your full of cunning but haven't got much of the ambition any more. Loyal but cautious brave as well but only when needed….you wish to be with your friend. Well then I guess..

"GRYFFINDOR"

Malik simply stood after he hat was removed and gracefully moved to take his seat next to Ryou.

"Whoot! 2 for 2" Ron yelled as Hermione smacked him.

"Kaiba, Seto" with this some of the muggle borns started chattering.

"Kaiba…" Hermione uttered in almost complete shock.

"What is it Hermione?" Ron said looking confused.

"It can't be but.." She looked at Yugi if he was.

Ron just looked confused but she didn't continue.

The hat slid on Seto's head.

"Oh a dark one are we? Not very friendly I can see. Here for him are you? Love is a tricky tricky thing I see. But betray you would never, I can see. A good heart you have even if you don't let many see. Oh well who am I to break a pattern its fate.

"GRYFFINDOR"

Seto stood seething with the last words of the hat. He still didn't like events being referred to as fate. Seto Kaiba made his own destiny.

He sat down next Malik with a scowl on his face.

"What's eating you?" Malik ask – Ron's cheers had died down a bit after his last outburst and smack form Hermione.

"The hat told me this was fate." He grumbled. Malik simply started laughing.

"Mouto, Yugi" With this the chattering that had begun before picked up heavily again. Only louder. Almost every muggle born knew of the King of Games. Even some of the purebloods knew this name, as they had heard of their friends speak of him before. This was going to be an interesting year indeed.

"Why hello there young pharaoh, I've been expecting you."

"You have?" Yugi asked.

"Yes when Dumbledore said that you had agreed to come I was rather excited you see. Not everyday you get to meet the reincarnation of someone so powerful. But alas our time is short now. Though I would like if you came to speak to me some time being a hat does get lonely."

"Al..right" Yugi said a little confused.

"Now young pharaoh. I have one last request. The boy Harry. Please protect him. Dumbledore has good intentions but I fear they may not lead to the right path. Be his friend and help protect him. This old castle is fond of him. As are its spirits" Stated the hat.

"I'll do my best" Is all Yugi could say.

"All right good day young pharaoh." Stated the hat as it yelled out. "GRYFFINDOR"

Yugi made his way over to Seto and the others. People were gawking at him. He was use however to people wanting a piece of him. Hell it seemed even in the wizarding world he was famous. He stole a glance at Harry remembering the hat's words and the groups decision earlier. He stopped next to Harry and whispered to him.

"Have your friends Hermione Ron and Draco meet us later. I don't know my way around but it needs to be private. We have a few things to tell you as well" Harry nodded slowly and Yugi went to take his seat.

They began to talk to each other as Dumbledore stood again.

"Before we eat I would like to introduce our new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. But they are currently unavailable. You should all have the joy of meeting them in class this week" stated Dumbledore with a twinkle in his eye.

"I wonder who it is" Ron whispered to Harry.

"No idea" he stated.

"I would like to remind you that there is no magic in the halls between classes and the list of things forbidden in the school are posted to Mr. Flich the caretaker's office which comprises over 200 things. Also that the forbidden forest is still strictly forbidden.

Malik whispered to Ryou "Yah then that's a great name to give it. Like its not going to perk interest" Ryou just tried to hold back another laugh.

"With that I wont keep you from your meal any longer." And with that he clapped his hands and plates of food appeared before the group.

Some were watching the four to catch a shocked expression on their face but none came. They simply dug into the meal.

Harry learned over to Ron "Yugi said he wants to talk to us in private later this evening."

"Alright mate where at?" Ron said through his meals

"I figured the room of requirements. Dumbledore said he would like me to continue the DA group. Our new friends might want to join" Said Harry.

"You sure you trust them Harry?" Ron said eye his friend.

"I think so but I'd like to see what they have to say first" stated Harry.

Ron nodded then turned to tell Hermione about their little meeting for later on.

Soon they were done eating normally the fifth year prefects would show the first years the way to the common room and tell them the password. However the group decided the members of house Gryffindor were an exception.

The 7 of them made there way down the hall. Draco spotted them leaving and quickly slipped out.

He caught up with them down a few halls.

"Draco" Harry stated coolly. "We are showing them to the tower. Meet us back here in a half an hour."

With that Draco nodded and turned to walk on with the rest of the group. Draco left to get settled into his new room. It would no longer be safe for him to stay in the Slytherin dorms after tomorrow. His father he knew would be furious but here at Hogwarts he would be safe.

They entered the common room with "Versaroot"

The common room was homey and the banners along with the fire and worn furniture made the place seem warm and inviting.

"Our dorms are here" stated Harry as he led the boys up the stairs. Hermione went their separate ways.

When they entered the 6 th year dorms Dean and Seamus were already there.

"Hello Harry" Dean said with a wave. "Ron"

Four more beds were placed in the room

"Hello Dean Seamus. I'd like you to meet our new friends. Ryou Yugi Seto and Malik." Harry said as the others stood there

"Nice to meet you." Said Yugi quietly.

"Is it true are you really Yugi Mouto the duel monsters champion?" Dean said in a rush. This earned him a glare from Seamus and an elbow in the side.

"That's the way to keep your cool. What is so important about a muggle card game anyway?" Seamus hissed.

Yugi slowly moved back stopping when his back became pressed into Seto's chest. Harry looked at Yugi and felt sorry for him. He knew what it felt like to be famous and having everyone gawk at you. He suddenly felt guilty for the way he had acted on the train. But he was kind of star struck himself.

"Yes..that would be me" Yugi said quietly.

"Cool!" exclaimed this time from Seamus.

Dean shot him a look of 'oh yah who's keeping it cool now?'

Seto's eyes narrowed. These boys where making Yugi uncomfortable. Something he wouldn't stand for.

"If you're quite done gawking" Seto said in a tone that could of lower the temperature of the south pole, "We would like to get settled in. This is going to be our home for the school year and we would like to make it as comfortable as possible."

Seto's tone left no room to question what he meant. Dean and Seamus quickly excused themselves

"Sorry both Dean and Seamus are very competitive. They are really nice when you get to know them." Said Harry. It wasn't his true opinion of the two. Especially after the way Seamus had acted last year but his new friends didn't need to know that.

Malik who had walked around spotted his trunk. "I think I like this kind of service." He said hoping on to his bed.

Yugi and Seto looked at the two separate beds. Seto had a glare on his face as if he was trying to make one of them combust into flames. Yugi whispered in his ear. "Just because there are two doesn't mean we have to us them both. This is a school after all and they can't condone such actions openly."

Seto smirked "When did you become such a little imp?"

"I always have been just the halo hid the horns." Yugi said in a seductive manner.

At this realizing that if he didn't stop them, not only would they be getting a show but they would probably miss their meeting. Ryou walked over to his bed and opened his trunk taking out a book and then loudly shutting it causing the other two to jump. Seto glared at Ryou for breaking them up but Ryou who had been behind such looks before merely shrugged it off.

"God Seto could put Snape to shame and he just rolls it off." Ron said in awe.

"What are you doing with the charms book Ryou?" Ron said confused.

"I have a lot of catching up to do. What we have to tell you is only partially my story. I know it all so I figured I'd do a bit of ready ahead while the others told you theirs." Said Ryou.

"God your going to give Hermione a run for her money for the title of "bookworm" Ron said.

"Ron! That's not nice to say something like that about your friend" Harry said. Though he left out which friend he was referring too.

"We should probably get going though" Yugi said.

"Never one to be late are you?" Said Malik in a sarcastic tone.

"Nope that bit of Seto rubbed off on me." Yugi said with a giggle as his boyfriend crossed his arms.

"Common" Harry said "Hermione is probably waiting for us down stairs anyway."

They all filed out of the room and down back to the common room. Dean and Seamus were over talking to Neville and Hermione was talking to Ginny.

"Can I come too?" Ginny asked pleadingly. She usually wasn't involved with the trio's plans but after last year she proved she was a good ally.

"That's not up to us." Said Harry cutting Ron's quick response of "no" and looking to Yugi and the others.

"She can come if she swears not to tell another soul" Yugi said.

Malik and Seto through glances at Yugi. They had learned to trust his judgment when it came to people. He seemed to have a knack for reading people's souls. With this they turned and head out towards the room of requirements.

When Draco started following them Ginny looked slightly confused. Even more so when Harry dropped back to speak with him. She hadn't known about the exchange on the train. She became slightly nervous but the two seemed to be getting along. Even dare she say? Smiling.

Hermione lead the way. Chatting with Ryou a bit. She was slightly impressed about Ryou's claim to take some of the time to study.

Seto was walking quietly next to Yugi and on the other side was Ron. Yugi had made a promise to show Ron his deck a bit later. Glancing at Seto thinking maybe he could show him a duel.

They reached the room and Hermione lead them in. There they found a cozy room filled with refreshments and a couple of couches and chairs lined about. They each took their seats as Harry and the others waited expectantly.

"We decided that since you told us of your past it was only fair you know ours and why were where brought to this school" Yugi said. His demeanor changed slightly "The best place to start is the beginning I guess so here it goes. This all started 5000 years ago in Egypt. Then the card game we told you about was real. Fought with real monsters between the most powerful people in Egypt. These were the shadow games, and the penalty for loosing were often worse then death. In this era 7 magical items were forged called the millennium items. The eye, the key, the necklace, the scales, the ring, the rod and the millennium puzzle. "

This is when Ryou spoke after all this was the key reason for his involvement. "To create these items took the sacrifice of 99 thieves" all eyes turned to him. Even though he had not personally lived it the memories for his other half made it hard. "The pharaoh of the time was kind and just but one of his high priests was not. The one that forged the items. He called upon dark magic to create them through the sacrifice. One that was spared though grew in hatred and malice for the pharaoh that had destroyed his village. He was just a small boy though. He would have to find the power to destroy the pharaoh for what he had done. Taken his family way from him." Ryou stopped and Yugi picked back up.

"Years passed and the old pharaoh died and the new pharaoh took his place. A young boy but master at the shadow games." With this Seto took his turn.

"Though there was one that was not happy with this. The priest who had created the items had been the brother of the previous pharaoh. He sought for his son a fellow high priest to take the throne." Seto said. "But his son and the pharaoh were allies and extremely good friends. They had a rivalry going on but it was friendly. The priest helped strengthen the pharaoh's abilities."

"But soon things changed the boy that had been spared found his power. He attacked the pharaoh and started a deadly course of shadow games. Eventually the priest who possessed the millennium ring and he had a show down. Now these shadow games are fought with one's Ka or spirit monster. The priest knew he couldn't destroy the thief with his power and so merged his spirit with that of the monster. The battle was fierce but the thief was able to escape with the ring." Ryou continued.

"A great darkness had descended inside the palace walls as well. A great many things went wrong including the death of an innocent girl so that the dark priest could gain power. His son became possessed by a dark spirit and challenged the pharaoh. He would never have done it on his own free will but the darkness had over taken him. He and the pharaoh entered into a true shadow game." Seto said.

"In the end the pharaoh won and spared his priest knowing in his heart that he would never truly betray him. Then they discovered the true source of the evil. A dark sorcerer Zork. The pharaoh could not defeat the sorcerer in his time. He didn't have the power so he locked him away in puzzle. But this also locked his spirit with in it. To wait for a time when it could be destroyed." Yugi finished.

"Thus it became the job of a family to protect the items and their secrets through out the ages. Even if some of the family members were a bit reluctant to do so" Malik stated.

"This is a lovely story but what does this have to do with you?" Ron said confused. The others were too they just didn't voice it.

"I was just about to get there" Yugi stated "When I was eleven my grandfather gave me an artifact from Egypt…." Yugi continued his story the others filling in the parts as they go. They got a little uneasy around Malik, never having met someone before that created an entity out of their own hate anger and malice before. (A/N I imagine most of you know the story from here so I'm not going to bore you with it. I added the part about ancient Egypt because not everyone has seen that. Yes this is set after all the Yami's have left and no in this story they don't come back)

They sat in silence listening to the tale. The life threatening adventurous the group had went through and where they were at now.

"So what made you finally believe all this?" said Hermione to Seto.

"I had believed it for longer then they knew but denied it because it was to painful. I thought that Yugi and Yami had formed a relationship. They were the other half of each other's soul after all. I had recovered memories of Seth's days with the pharaoh most of what should have been happy memories were clouded with pain. His betrayal and the loss of the pharaoh. I didn't love Yugi's other half though. I loved Yugi. I became obsessed; I thought that if I beat Yugi's Yami that he might fall in love with me instead. At the same time I denied his existence blocking out those painful memories. In the end Yugi and Yami did love each other as brothers and best friends would but nothing more" Seto said holding Yugi close.

"And we promised each other that no matter what the past held we would make our future happy." Yugi said looking into Seto's eyes.

"I'm sure you have many more questions but its getting late and we do have class tomorrow. Think on it some. You said something about a Defense Against the Dark Arts club. Maybe we could meet here before tomorrow's meeting. You can ask us then." Ryou suggested.

The others had various looks on their faces. But eventually Harry stood. "It sounds like a good idea"

They all stood and made their way out but Harry and Draco hung back "Go on I have something I need to discuss with Draco"

Hermione and Ron looked at each other and Ginny still confused over the situation but they left. Ginny decided to make Ron explain to her what was up with Draco. He promised to do so back in the common room. Yugi Seto Malik and Ryou were on their way back to the dorm as well. Hermione taking up with Malik on things in Egypt.

"Oh wait I almost forgot my charms book." Ryou said turning back.

"I'll come with you" Yugi said but Ryou shook his head.

"I'll be fine go relax I'll catch up in a moment" Ryou turned back down the hall as the other continued on.

When he walked through the door he almost blushed. Draco and Harry were making out. He turned to leave he could get his charms book later but he accidentally ran into a table.

The two looked at him. They looked scared.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to interrupt anything. I just forgot my charms book" You think Ryou would be use to walking in on two boys kissing as many times as he had done it to Yugi and Seto but this wasn't Yugi and Seto.

"Please don't tell anyone. My friends don't know" Harry pleaded.

Draco handed him the forgotten charms book with a pleading look in his eyes saying the same thing.

"I wont tell anyone. I'm good at keeping secrets. But I kinda had you two figured out anyway you act a lot like Yugi and Seto did. I know none of us will have a problem with it nor will your friends. I've heard your story and they seem reasonable enough. Just think about it" Ryou said then left them alone.

He made his way back to Gryffindor tower to sleep before his first class for wizards.

This was defiantly going to be an interesting year.

Ok that's it for the first chapter and woooooooo it was long. I usually to write chapters this long but this one just kept going. And for what I have planned for this story the rest of them will probably be pretty long too. I hope you like leave me comments questions and such. Also I'm not sure what to do couples wise, so I decided to have you guys vote.

My main debate is pair Hermione with Ron or Ryou. But most mixes are up for grabs. Tell me what you would like to see! I am kinda leaning towards Hermione x Ryou but I'm not completely comfortable with it.
