The Sinking of Numenor
Numenor was an ancient land,
The home of good kind men
But Sauron they took as a prisoner
And their race fell from light into dark
They tried to gain eternal life
By sailing on high Valinor
But the Valar repelled them with storm and wave
And eagles were seen on the wings of the storm
Then Ulmo covered their land
And drowned every man, woman and child
But twelve ships fled with the last elf friends
Lead by the high kings to be
Elendil, Isildur and Anarion,
They rode on the wings of the storm
Out of the west to the shores of Arda
The birth of Gondor and Arnor was come
