Chapter one – The beginning of the end.

“Gohan!” Chichi screamed into the vast darkness, which was her backyard this night. The trees cast spooky shadows down unto the dark green that was the grass in the clearing her house rested in.

“What mom!” Chichi heard from the woods before seeing a glowing blonde male step out of the darkness, he was 15 as of today, tall and strong like his father, also wearing one of his fathers training gis causing his mom to smile briefly.

“Suppers ready hon.” She said softly to the teenager and he walked into the house his hair becoming black and the golden glow from him disappearing

Gohan walked into the kitchen food already on the table causing the teen to smirk and sit down on a chair, grab a fork and dig in. Chichi watched Gohan in worry. He had been getting quiet and keeping to himself over the last year. It had been progressing to the point where he spent whole days out in the woods or in his room. Goten was only 2 years and he even noticed Gohan was not around enough.

“Thanks mom.” Gohan said politely standing and grabbing his dishes putting them in the sink before walking from the room and upstairs to his own bedroom.

Stepping into his room, he yawned and flopped down onto his bed landing on his back. He would lay here until after midnight, when he heard his mother fall asleep he leaned over the side of his bed and pulled out a small wooden chest. Taking a key from around his neck, he opened the wooden chest to see a bunch of small blades such as razor blades and sharpener blades. Along with some rubbing alcohol and bandages and a large piece of cloth.

Taking a deep breath, he picked up a rather large razor blade and examined it closely flipping it over and looking at the other side. Pushing up the dark blue sleeves of his long sleeve shirt under his orange gi, he pressed the razor against the inside of his arm, dragging the blade across the skin of his forearm letting out a small sigh as the blood ran down his arm. He brought his arm up to his face and watched the cut carefully, as the blood trickled down his arm and he cursed as a drop hit the pants of his gi. He immediately grabbed the cloth, wrapped it around his arm, and pulled the sleeve back over it. His eyes widened as he heard a knock at his door and his mother say a soft “Gohan…”

“Hold on mother.” He said frantically stuffing everything into the chest and tossing it underneath his bed, stood up walking over to the door, and opened the door a crack.

“Yes mom?” Gohan asked with a brow raised, acting as if he had just woken up.

“Did I wake you?” She asked with a hint of worry. “I wanted to talk to you.”

“No, and uh sure.” He replied opening his door fully.

“Come to the kitchen, I’ll make some tea.” Chichi said with a smile before walking off, only in her robe and pajamas. Gohan grabbed his robe and threw it on before walking out of his room and down the hall towards the kitchen.

Stepping into the kitchen, he saw his mother pouring water into two cups with tea bags in them and carrying one over to Gohan and sitting down and placing one in front of herself. Gohan sat down and put his cup on the table before taking a sip, looking across the table at his mother.

“Gohan…” Chichi said setting her own tea down after taking a few sips. A few moments of silenced passed by and Chichi continued. “I noticed your not yourself lately. You have not been yourself since the cell games… However, lately it has been much worse. Don’t blame yourself for what happened.”

Gohan gave a loud sigh, stood up and chugged his tea before taking the cup to the sink and going to leave the kitchen. He stopped in the doorway and turned towards his mother. “Don’t tell me who and what to blame stuff on.” Gohan said. “I know what happened that day and I know whose fault it is.”

Gohan then left and went back to his room. Taking off his robe and gi, he sat there in his boxers a few moments before crawling under the covers of his bed the white cloth that had been over his wrist now brown in spots from the dried blood.

“Gohan…” Chichi called softly through his door, causing Gohan to groan and roll over to look at his alarm clock. It was 7:00am to the dot and Gohan pushed himself up out of bed. He hissed at the pain on his wrist and stumbled to his closet for some clothes before dragging himself to the washroom.

He closed the door behind him as he walked into the bathroom and put his clothes on the counter before looking at the cloth still on his wrist. Untying it, he began to unwrap it and hissed loudly as he pulled the cloth from the dried wound. He began washing the cloth in the sink, red water going down the drain before he wrung it out and folded it up, stains still on it but not as many. He pushed down his boxers, stepped into the tub, pulling the curtain around and began fiddling with the water to get it a good temperature. He pulled the bar that caused the water to sprout from the shower head and began washing.

After a few minutes, he stepped out clean and refreshed the cut on his wrist stinging from the soap that got in it when he was in the shower but he shrugged off the pain and began to dress. Pulling on a white muscle tank and a pair of black jeans along with chains on his right side and two black wristbands on his arms to cover up his scars and the current wound. He picked up some jell and spiked his hair to the way he liked it instead of the messy spikes he would normally get and stepped out into the hall and walking to the kitchen.

“Hey mom I’m going into the city today… I’m going to try to meet people…” He said grabbing an apple and taking a bite of it.

“Okay… That sounds like a good idea!” Chichi exclaimed and ran over starting to poke him and fix his hair.

“Mom, mom… Stop! I look fine...” He said swatting at her to get her away.

“all right, all right.” Chichi said and Gohan took off out the door and into the air.

“Oh, I hope he will get friends… He needs them…” Chichi mumbled with a sigh and turned to look at Goten. “Does my baby want some pancakes…? Oh yes he does!” Chichi said in a baby voice and Goten clapped happily.

“Pancakes! Pancakes!” He squealed.
