Just something short written on a whim. Enjoy. Probably pure crap, but I had fun writing it. It's a bit vague, but meant to be that way.
Disclaimer: I don't own Chrno Crusade.
“Calm down, Rosette,” Father Remington gently reprimanded. He paused. “Yes.”
Chrno sighed, hanging his head.
“Yes? So it IS true!” Rosette crowed, beginning to cheer and dance around the room. “She’s gone, she’s gone, she’s gone…”
Ewan sighed. “You know, Rosette, you really shouldn’t act so happy about it. After all, it really is your fault that Sister Kate had to go to therapy. All the destruction you caused during your last mission just put her over the edge, I suppose. In any case, it’s still early in the morning, so you should stop being so loud.”
“What are you talking about?” Rosette cheered. “I gotta start early! A whole day without Sister Kate on my back! See ya later, Father Remington!” The blonde girl practically bounced out the door, followed closely by her tiny, worried-looking demonic companion.
Ewan Remington, currently in charge of the Order during Sister Kate’s absence, was sure that nothing but chaos could ensue.
Late that night, Rosette patiently waited awake in bed. She could hardly contain her excitement when she heard the car roll into the Order, waiting for that one thing she’d been working towards all day.
“AIIIIIIIIII!” Came a horrible shriek from the courtyard, followed by a soft thump.
Chrno, unable to sleep with all the silly string, paper streamers, painted trees and altered signs surrounding him, merely sighed and tried to make himself blend in with the bench.
The next morning, Rosette slowly made her way to the Abbess’s office. It wasn’t a meeting she was looking forward to, but she knew without being told that an apology to Sister Kate would be required—at the bare minimum.
She was, therefore, very surprised to find Father Remington sitting in the Abbess’s chair, looking very tired indeed.
“Um, Father Remington?” Rosette asked shyly. “Where’s Sister Kate?”
The older man sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Back at therapy, Rosette.” Rosette nodded, and backed out of the room.
Safe today, but she knew there’d be hell to pay tomorrow.
But, she thought wickedly, it was definitely worth it.
A/N: Heh. Review if you don't think it was total crap.
