A/N: My sincere thanks to Random3, Prue Trudeau and JDjams for sticking this one out with me. As promised it will be finished.

Demons of a Different Kind: Magical Apology

Piper’s hands hit the glass door swinging it forward before she brought up her hands. “Hey bitch!” Instantly the sales manger behind the counter froze leaving she and Phoebe only Tru to contend with.

Cocking her head, Tru looked at the witch using a mocking tone, “well this should make my job significantly easier. Don’t you think so Dear?” Her gaze shifted looking over her shoulder to see Andreas appear.

“Definitely” He groaned creating a ball of fire of hands in his hands.

”Whoa” Phoebe jumped back, “When did Andy get an active power”

”Hence the word Demon,” Piper grumbled, raising her fingers in a threatening manner. “Bring it on”

“Gladly,” A sarcastic grin spread to Tru’s lips as she reached for Andreas Hand. “Shall we show them what we can accomplish together?”

“Let’s” Andreas increased his grip on Tru’s hand causing the ring on his right hand to glow. The ring was an exact replica of the one Prue had given to Andy shortly after the Elder’s had returned him, as a protector of magic. Andy’s ring worked to protect him from demons and dark magic where Andreas’ worked against the greater good.

Combing their power of telekinesis with explosive electrokinetic’s energy the two were able to create an an invisible wall: A wall that would send Piper’s power of Molecular Acceleration straight back at her.

”Oh God, those two make me sick!” Piper hissed rolling her eyes as they tenderly shared a passionate kiss; A kiss that would ignite an electrokinetic fire. Unaware of the invisible shield that Tru and Andreas had created, Piper flicked her fingers sending a blast straight at them, countering a boomerang effect.

”Piper look out!” Phoebe latched on to Piper’s wrist pulling down onto the ground as the blast zinged over their heads an out the shattered glass doors. “Together their too strong” the youngest Charmed One murmured still feeling the heat from the blaze. “We’ve got to think of something else!”

Manor

“Here” Prue handed Andy some Ibuprofen and shoved a cup of coffee in front of him.

“Thanks”

“Your welcome” Prue sank beside at the kitchen table and started to pick at her cuticles. “So you really think we can defeat these demons without magic?” she asked watching Andy chase down the pills with a swallow black coffee.

”I know we can”

“Absolutely” Andy lifted one shoulder and then let drop before setting his mug down on the table.

“How can you be so sure? Magic is my life”

“Yes but it isn’t who you are. It doesn’t control you, Prue” He reached across the table and grabbed our hands. Marianne Williamson once said: Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?”

“Where did you learn that?” Prue laughed as he released her hands shrugging modestly.

”Mrs. Beasely’s 12th grade literature glass”

Prue’s felt her face flame slightly. “Okay, that’s a very lovely quote but what does it have to do with our two demons that are running around loose all over San Francisco?”

”Everything” Andy stated simply stroking his chin, “You see Prue you aren’t really afraid of losing me to another demon” Andy held up his right hand flashing his ring finger “ I have this ring to protect me from that now. What you are most afraid of is what you think you will find if you completely open you heart”

”That’s not true” Prue’s head began to shake.

”Let me finish” Once again Andy’s hands fell over hers. “I think your afraid that your going find something so overwhelming you won’t be able to handle. Let’s face it all of your life you’ve been hurt by those who love you and now just can’t see it any other way. You’re a coward Prue. Your afraid of disappointment”

Andy paused for a moment watching the fall of her eyes, “your father, your mother, me…”

Prue pulled her hands into her hand staring down at the floor. “I guess I never thought of it that way”

“Well you need too” Andy stated reproachfully rising to his feet and circling around the table so that he could cup Prue’s chin, “because the only way to defeat these demons is in here” Andy touched the area of Prue’s heart with his index finger, “not with a spell or a potion”

“I don’t know how to fight without magic anymore” Prue admitted shamefully. Magic had been her life, a constant solid for the past three years.

“Then it’s time you learned”

”But I don’t know where to start” Prue protested. She couldn’t just snap her fingers and will her problems away. She’s have to face her fears, really deal with them once and for all. Admit that she wasn’t the Super Wtich she thought she was.

“How about with Darryl and Sheila” Andy suggested watching her open her mouth to protest. “You can’t deny yourself a baby just because they lost theirs”

Prue closed her mouth and looked down at the lump in her stomach. “But this baby isn’t real”

”Not yet but it could be”

“We aren’t ready for a baby”

“Prue we’ve been together all our lives can you really see yourself having a child with someone else?”

Prue lowered her head even further towards the floor staring at the cracks in the hardwood. Slowly she closed her eyes and reopened them, “No” Her lips started to move but no sound came out.

That’s what I thought. Andy smiled before kissing her forehead, “come on”

The ride to the Morris home was unbearably quietly as Prue sat in the passenger’s seat, picking at her cuticles until they bled. Not surprising, Prue hesitated when the car finally came to stop and Andy climbed out.

”What about Darryl?”

“I can handle Darryl” Andy reached for her hand, tangling it with his as they walked up towards the front steps passing a large blue and white for sale sign.

”Darryl and Sheila are moving?” Prue asked incredulously.

“Darryl thinks they’ll be better off in Florida. He’s looking for a transfer to Orlando” Andy released Prue’s hand, letting his long slender finger punch the bell.

Prue moved slowly behind Andy, letting his frame hide her from sight. The sound of Darryls bare feet padding against the ceramic tile floor made her want to shrink up and die.

”Trudeau, do have any idea of what time it is?” The taller inspector stood in the doorway bare-chested, with his brow furrowed.

”Yeah I do.” Andy began softly, “Can we come in?”

”We?” Darryl’s nose flared slightly at the sight of Prue as Andy stepped out of the way. His dark eyes zeroing right in on her bulging stomach. The appearance of Prue’s pregnant body made it seem like she was carrying the child that he and Sheila had lost.

”What in the hell is she doing here?”

“Trying to make things right” Andy answered protectively looking over Darryl’s shoulder to another figure standing in the hallway.

”Darryl let them come in”

Darryl looked over his bare shoulder and gave a grunt of protest to his wife before stepping aside. Cautiously, he watched her expression. Sheila’s mouth opened and then promptly closed as they all slowly shuffled to the living room.

”Prue I didn’t realize you were expecting” The hurt in the young mother’s eyes was almost more than Prudence could bare.

”I’m not” she said slowly trying hard not to touch her swollen belly. “This is just my-“ her voice faltered for a moment, “Inner Demon”

“Inner Demon?” Darryl returned with his dark eyes blazing fire, “Trudeau is some sort of sick joke?”

“I wish it were” Andy remained solemn. He didn’t want to say that the appearance of the baby that Prue was carrying was just a vision of the child she wanted to share with him.

“No Darryl it’s no joke” Prue put in “I have some issues to face and this is just magic’s way of letting me know I need to deal with deal with them”

”And what issues would that be?” Darryl asked doing his famous eye roll.

Prue started to sit up a little taller and took in deep breath, “Well for starters, I know I was driving the car that night that Angeliisa died but I’m not responsible for killing your baby. My inner demon was…” Or Tru was responsible for hiring the paparazzi that ambushed her car, rather.

“And telling me that your magical issues were responsible is suppose to make it better?” Darryl shifted his eyes for a moment and rubbed his chin “ LADY YOU’VE GOT SOME NERVE”

Prue jumped back as Darryl launched himself to his feet. “How dare you come into my house and tell me that magic is responsible for killing my child. News flash Prue, your are the one who brought magic into our lives!”

“Darryl calm down” Sheila order touching his arm. “Can’t you see that Prue is trying to apologize!”

Stoically, Darryl swiped at his eyes. Long streams of tears were starting to run down the large man’s face. Prue’s too.

“I wish there was something I could do to bring your baby back” Prue choked pressing a palm to her cheek.

Five minutes later, she and Andy were back on the porch heading down the walkway. “Well that did a lot of good” Prue sniffled as Andy wrapped a protective arm around her.

”It may have done more good than you think”

”What do you mean?” Prue stopped as he flicked gaze to her stomach. Slowly she let her eyes drift downward, watching the bulged in her stomach shirk away until her belly was perfectly flat.

”I don’t understand” she said slowly

“I don’t think you need too” Andy replied looking over his shoulder where Darryl and Sheila were standing in the doorway, shocked. Once again Sheila’s stomach was full and round with child.

Still crying Prue pressed her hands to her face in utter joy. All had been made right in the Morris world.
