Disclaimer: Harry isn't mine.
She supposed it was a Weasley thing, acting that way around Harry. Honestly, what was it with her family? Her mum and dad adored Harry as their seventh son, she herself had been head over heels for him for years before she'd finally moved on, and Ron considered him yet another- and possibly his favorite- brother. The twins...well, Fred thought of Harry as a brother, too. George, though, was the second Weasley to fall prey to Harry's charms, not that the green-eyed boy ever noticed.
Percy and Charlie were possibly the only ones completely immune- Percy because he was an arse, and Charlie because he was never around long enough to get to know Harry.
For a while, Bill had escaped Harry's unwitting grasp, as well. But Ginny saw the signs, and she knew without a doubt that her twenty-six year old brother was infatuated with the seventeen year old hero of the wizarding world.
Ginny had never acted on her feelings, mostly because when she was younger she'd been intimidated by Harry, and when she got older, she'd realized that Harry had absolutely no interest in her. Or in any other girls, really; after the Cho debacle and the 'wet kiss' incident, it had been pretty much accepted that Harry was queer.
George never acted on his feelings either, because he was terrified of losing Harry's friendship. And he'd eventually gotten over it and moved on to Katie Bell, with Harry never the wiser.
Bill, however, was neither intimidated by Harry nor female. And as he'd never really been friends with Harry- just friendly- he had nothing to lose.
Ginny watched it all fall into place, watched her oldest brother pursue one of her best friends. Little touches, crooked smiles, suggestive comments (that for the most part went over Harry's head)... Harry wore a perpetual blush the summer before auror training.
Then Harry's eighteenth birthday arrived, and Bill finally made his move.
In front of everyone, in the middle of yet another one-sided flirting session with a befuddled Harry Potter, he growled an irritated "Bugger this", grabbed the front of Harry's t-shirt, and pulled the younger man in for a kiss that had just about every female in the vicinity fanning herself.
When they finally came up for air, and after the catcalls and cheers died away, Bill asked with a grin, "What d'you say, Potter?"
Harry, dazed and wide-eyed, squeaked out a confused, "What?"
Bill's grin widened. "You and me, Harry. Whaddaya say?"
"...okay?"
Ginny couldn't help but smile. It still hurt, a bit, but she'd moved on...and Bill deserved this. Bill deserved Harry.
After all, fortune favors the bold.
