“YuMatrix” Fanfic/ doujounshi script by “Slifer the Sky Dragon” final chapter- because even though this is the first fanfiction I have ever written, I’ve lost concentration and keep forgetting about this fic. I was because of supporters that I decided to wrap this up, and I hope you’ve enjoyed it. I might put an epilogue up if I feel like it. We find our heroes in the desolate regions of the I-Matrix, in the shadow realm, also known as the hell of pure darkness. The landscape was dark and gloomy. The sky was completely covered in dark clouds, and thunder was heard from inside the clouds. In the distance was the shadow of a large castle-like structure, contorted and looked menacing. The oracle dragon of light hovered above the group, using her light to illuminate the path ahead.

Anzu looked at Yugi. “Yugi, what’s wrong?”

Yugi looked back solemnly. “I… I’m just worried about Yami Yugi… and… what about those elite clones we didn’t kill and the 3 we haven’t met yet? They all look so much like him… and even then Gemini Yugi told us about how they were created…”

A sharp pain suddenly went up Yugi’s spine, causing him to keel over. Yugi kneeled on the ground, clutching his arms, shivering.

Anzu gasped and tried to help Yugi back up. “Yugi! Are you ok?”

Yugi got back up and shook his head. “No… because he’s not ok. I can feel it… his pain, his sorrow… it’s almost unbearable… something’s wrong… his sorrow… it’s turning into anger…” Yugi groaned as he fell unconscious.

“Yugi!” The group shouted, but no reply.

A sinister laugh came from the dark shadows of the forest.

Footsteps approached, and as the creature entered the light that the oracle dragon gave off, the gang realized it was Yami Yugi, only he stood 7 feet tall on half-mechanical legs, and his whole general appearance seemed more demonic.

Yami Yugi’s mechanical wings shifted in the cold air, his eyes glowed a fierce red, and a sinister sneer spread wide across his face.

“Hello “friends.” Come here to die?” Yami Yugi smirked. “Hello Kaiba, hello Bakura. I didn’t know you two came along to play…”

Kaiba scoffed. “I don’t know what you’re trying to pull Yugi, but it’s not going to work on me. I came here so I could finish this game and get my prize.”

Yami Yugi laughed. “Prize? Game? This is far from a game, and your prize will be death!” Yami Yugi raised his arms up slowly and the earth trembled. Soon, cracks in the earth formed, and an explosion followed, and revealed 3 figures.

When the dust settled, the first figure seen was someone who looked like Yami Yugi, only he was wearing an odd purple trench coat outfit, with some kind of feathered wings coming out of his head. When he opened his eyes, one eye glowed green, the other a fierce amethyst.

The second figure that emerged was what looked like what would happen if you fused Yugi with the summoned skull; he looked like a zombie of sorts, bones showing everywhere. When this skeletal-fusion Yugi opened his eyes, both eyes glowed a sickening yellow.

The third figure was a black-skinned dragon-demon creature, with long red hair, with blonde bangs, and this creature wore gold jewelry, like that of the Pharaoh. This creature had glowing red eyes and a cackling laugh.

Yami Yugi stepped forward and spread his arms out in triumph. “Introducing the last of the 12 elite shadow soldiers, Orachalchos Yami, Demon Yugi, and Demon Dragon Atemu!” Demon Yugi and Demon Dragon Atemu snarled in response. Orachalchos Yami just stared quietly at Yugi and the gang, and said, “Can we kill them yet?”

Yami Yugi looked down at Yugi, who was lying on the ground, apparently unconscious. Yami Yugi heard a voice call out to him. Yami… Please… stop this…You’re being manipulated by MX-434R… Please… come back to us… Yami Yugi shook his head furiously. “Get out… get out of my head you bastard…” Yami Yugi muttered. Yami… how can you talk to me like that… I…I thought you cared for me… I thought… you loved me… Yami Yugi continued to mutter under his breath to reply to Yugi. “No… I can’t love someone who hates me so much… someone who almost killed me… MX-434R showed me that… you hurt me, you made me bleed, my blood flooded into the Nile river that night… you… you were unforgiving, and hated me so much… I’m alone now Yugi… I realized I always was alone… The blade that you struck me with… it… it still hurts…”

What are you talking about Yami? I would never hurt you…

“Bastard. Leave me alone… leave me alone… I don’t want to be loved by anyone anymore, only to have that love taken away from me… like my memories… my parents…”

Yami, I don’t know what the hell you are talking about! MX-434R did this to you! It probably gave you those false memories! Why in God’s name would I strike you with any weapon?

“Because I hurt you. You wanted revenge. You hate me.”

At that moment, Yami Yugi roared, his eyes glowed red, and his body sent a plume of darkfire that engulfed the 3 elite soldiers.

Yugi could hear the stories of each elite.

Orachalchos Yami was the first. I was created from the darkness in Yami Yugi’s heart when he first played the seal, out of his selfishness and lust for power. I am a mix of his anger and desperation. I serve the great leviathan, and wield the powers of the crystal. I didn’t care about you or anything else except for winning at that time. All I wanted was power. Even if it meant losing everything else, I wanted only victory. I am the darkness, the anger that consumed Yami Yugi.

Demon Yugi was next. I was created from your heart Yugi, I am the image that Yami Yugi saw when you played the seal, your hatred towards Yami Yugi at the time is what drove him into isolation, into seclusion. He never wanted to see your face contorted with rage and anger ever again. He only wanted to see that smile that gave him happiness every time he saw it. I am the darkness reflected in your heart, seen by Yami Yugi that drives him to insanity.

Demon Dragon Atemu was last. I am the form of the shadow creature that the Pharaoh had no choice but to become to defeat Zork. My power came from the underworld, from the Egyptian God Seth himself. I killed mercilessly and ruthlessly. I fear nothing. The sounds of pain and suffering are like sweet songs to me. I am the darkness of the past that killed Yami Yugi.

The darkfire disappeared, and Yami Yugi stood in the middle of the three elites surrounding him.

Yugi groggily stood up. Anzu saw this and held Yugi up. “Yugi, are you alright? What happened?” Yugi shivered at her touch.

“I-I felt it… I- I saw it… What MX-434R showed him… It made Yami think I hated him… I took this machete covered in oil that was lit on fire, and I kept striking it across Yami’s back, until blood was everywhere… and he was on the brink of death… I heard the stories of those three shadow elites… each one was created from a painful memory… all the elites were… but that dragon-demon… I think he’s the one that is why Yami Yugi had to shatter the millennium puzzle 3000 years ago and kill himself…”

Yami Yugi stared down at Yugi, his eyes piercing Yugi’s heart. Yugi walked closer to Yami Yugi. Demon Yugi and Dragon Demon Atemu growled as he approached.

“Yami…” Yugi reached out a hand weakly.

Yami Yugi scoffed, and Demon Yugi lunged at Yugi, snarling.

“Go! Blue Eyes White Dragon!” Kaiba shouted, and in a flash of light the white dragon appeared. Demon Yugi stopped and lurched back, Kaiba yelled, “White Lightning!” and the white dragon let loose a stream of white light, incinerating Demon Yugi, turning him into a cloud of shadows that moved and merged with Yami Yugi. The white dragon continued its attack and directed it at Orachalchos Yami, incinerating him, turning him into a shadow cloud that merged with Yami Yugi.

“That’s strange… those two could have easily dodged the blasts… and yet they didn’t…” said Bakura, suspicious of what the elites were doing.

The white dragon continued its attack for one last assault, incinerating the Dragon Demon, who turned into a shadow cloud that merged with Yami Yugi.

“What the hell- no way it was that easy!” Joey exclaimed.

Yami Yugi started laughing maniacally, and behind him, a portal opened, where water came rushing out, and a low growl was heard.

“Wh-what the hell is that?” Joey asked, then moved behind Anzu.

Two glowing yellow eyes shone through the portal, and a huge snake-like creature emerged- the great leviathan.

Yami Yugi leapt onto the leviathan’s head and started to chant a spell. His body then melted into the leviathan, where the leviathan then started to contort and transform, long red hair came out of its head, sharp fangs formed, and horns and spikes emerged. Then the creature sprouted long stick-like wings that caught on fire in fire that was a dark blue. When the creature rose up into the air, it looked like a black phoenix.

Then a second creature emerged from underground, only this one first looked like a mass of tentacles. Three demon eyes and three machine eyes identified this creature as no other than MX-434R, who howled, “Freedom” as it rose into the air. MX-434R then merged with the dark phoenix, giving the phoenix six glowing red eyes, three on each side.

Three more creatures rose from the shadows, one was the silver Yami elite, the second was Gemini Yami, and the third was a tall woman, dressed in purple and gold, with long purple hair that flowed from her head down to her waist. She held a staff with 4 silver rings on it.

The oracle dragon of light gasped. “Sister?”

The woman then transformed into a dark version of the Oracle dragon of light, the only difference between the two was the Dark oracle dragon had purple skin and silver jewelry instead of white skin and gold.

“Hello sister. Long time no see. Unfortunately, this is hello and goodbye.” The dark oracle dragon spoke in a monotonous voice. And as soon as she finished her sentence, she let loose a wave of dark orb attack at the oracle dragon of light.

“Oracle dragon of dreams, come forth! Fuse with the dark magician and use oracle dream shield!” Yugi cried out, and in a flash of light, the dark oracle dream magician appeared, and absorbed the attack with his shield. The Oracle Dragon of Light turned to Yugi. “Yugi, I want you to fuse with me. This will make it so your lifepoints is my life, and together, we can beat my sister and get past these menaces to save Yami Yugi.”

Yugi nodded, and the Oracle Dragon of Light started chanting a high pitched spell, inaudible to humans, but after a few seconds, Yugi felt a rush of power go through him, and instinctively, he took off his duel disk and threw it into the air, shouting, “Duelist fusion!”

A wave of bright light engulfed the two, and when the light dissipated, Yugi floated in mid-air, dressed in a gold armor, as if the Oracle Dragon of Light’s metallic parts had morphed into armor that fit Yugi. “I am the Oracle of Light Yugi! You will now be purified of the darkness within your heart!” The Dark Oracle Dream Magician floated next to Yugi, and both nodded at each other. Yugi shouted, “Combo attack! Twilight assault!” In a flurry of both dark and light attacks, Yugi and the Dark Oracle Dream Magician bombarded the ground, hitting the Dark Oracle Dragon directly, causing her to shriek in pain. The attack incinerated Gemini Yami, who turned into a shadow cloud and merged with the Dark Phoenix, but sliver Yami had liquefied and slithered away. Yugi, with the voice of the Oracle Dragon of Light spoke with an omniscient voice: “Purify your soul with my light! Light of Redemption!” A glowing sphere then encased the Dark Oracle Dragon, where the sphere then disappeared into a portal.

The Oracle Dragon of Light spoke to the gang. “Now is the time to take our final step to defeat MX-434R and bring back peace to this world!”

The Oracle Dragons of Ice, Fire, Wind, Water, Darkness, Earth, and magma appeared.

The Oracle Dragon of Water looked at Kaiba and started chanting a spell, Kaiba shouted, “Duelist Fusion!” and Oracle of Water Kaiba emerged, dressed in silver and light blue armor, with odd little frills in various places. The Oracle of Water Triton appeared in Kaiba’s hand. Kaiba then fused his Blue Eyes with the Oracle Dragon of Ice, forming the Blue Eyes Crystal Dragon.

The Oracle Dragon of Fire looked at Joey, and Joey then fused with the dragon, forming Oracle of Fire Joey, dressed in bright red armor, with transparent red flame-like linen flowing from his armor. The Oracle Sword of Fire appeared in his hand. Joey then fused his red Eyes black dragon with the Oracle Dragon of Magma, forming the Red Eyes Magma Dragon.

The Oracle Dragon of Darkness looked at Bakura, and the two fused, forming the Oracle of Darkness Bakura, dressed and black and silver armor, wielding the Oracle Twin Blades of Darkness.

The Oracle Dragon of Wind looked at Anzu, and the two fused, forming Oracle of Wind Anzu, she was dressed in bright pink armor, with feathers lining the armor. The Oracle Bow of the Wind appeared in her hand.

Tristan fused with the Oracle Dragon of Earth, forming the Oracle of Earth Tristan, wielding the Oracle Hammer of Earth. He was dressed in a bronze-like armor.

The group of new Duelist Fusion Oracles then rose up to fight the Dark Phoenix, weapons drawn, monsters ready, and spirits high with hope.

After what seemed like hours, the Dark Phoenix was winning, Tristan, Bakura, and Anzu had fallen to the ground, the Oracle Dragons had each separated and lay next to them, exhausted and too battle-worn. Yugi was straining to maintain the fusion, and next to him was Kaiba, determined as ever, riding on his loyal Blue Eyes Crystal Dragon. Joey was riding on his Red Eyes Magma Dragon. “Damn, what the hell can we do? He-It’s too powerful!” Joey shouted in frustration.

The Dark Phoenix was burning as brightly as before, but it had lost some size and power due to various attacks actually hitting it. A powerful voice came from the phoenix.

“You fools think you can actually win. You’ve already lost half of what your army was, if you can call it that.” The Dark Phoenix sent out a wave of black flames, incinerating the two dragons, forcing them to de fuse and disappear, and sent Joey and Kaiba plummeting to the ground. The Dark Oracle Dream Magician stepped in front of Yugi and took the attack, sacrificing himself to protect Yugi.

Yugi had the most energy left, because he kept hesitating to attack, based on the fact that Yami Yugi was in the phoenix, confused, and alone. Yugi wanted to help him so much, to ease that pain of being alone. Every time Yugi tried to connect with Yami Yugi, both MX-434R and Yami Yugi pushed him out. He hated not being able to help Yami Yugi. Yugi cried out in desperation.

“Yami! I know you can hear me in there! Please! I’m telling you! I would never hurt you! I… I would give my life for you! You’ve always been my inspiration! I don’t care if I die, because I know we’ll be together in spirit! Killing me would only make you feel worse! Just look around you! Is this what you wanted to happen? To just create an environment of hatred and sorrow around you? I want to be your light Yami! Please, come to me! I forgive you! No matter what happens, I forgive you!”

“forgive…” Yami Yugi whispered. MX-434R growled. “Don’t listen to him! You obey only me now!” Yami Yugi looked down at his claw-like hands. “No…”
“What did you say?”
“No… I will not be controlled by the darkness any longer…”
“You have no choice in the matter!”
With that, MX-434R jammed a thick cord with a long needle on the end into Yami Yugi’s skull, through the porthole, sending a wave of electricity and pain surging through his body. Yami Yugi strained his face as he tried to resist the power that was surging through him, trying to control him. “N-No… NO!” Yami screamed at the top of his lungs, and the result was a back surge that went back the cord and fried MX-434R. MX-434R then pulled back, hissing in pain, it felt his form cracking, and to its horror it was, its tentacles started to turn into dust, its armor shattered, its inner darkness seeping out into the air around it, its mind wandering into nothingness. “freedom…” was the last thing MX-434R murmured before disappearing into the shadows.

Out side, all that was seen was the Dark Phoenix dissipating, the leviathan disappearing, and Yami Yugi, floating in mid-air, with a machete set on fire. Yami Yugi looked out, his eyes half-lidded, soulless. “Forgiveness…” He whispered, and then sent the flaming machete into his chest, burying it deep into his heart, the machine liquid inside of him set on fire, setting all the mechanical parts of his body ablaze. His body felt like it was on fire, from the inside out. The wings fell apart, and the flaming mass that was Yami Yugi plummeted towards the ground.

Yugi rushed to Yami, and caught his flaming body. Yugi snuffed the fire out with his breath, and all that remained of Yami was his head and torso, with the machete still lodged in it. Yugi started sobbing uncontrollably. “You fool…”

A feint whir caught Yugi’s attention as he saw Yami slowly turn his head towards him. “Yugi… It happened again… I let my anger take over… but this time… I’ve decided to take the price… Before I go… I want to see your smile…” Yugi tried to force himself to smile, but it was awkward, the emotions swirling inside him made it difficult. “Yugi… please… I want to see that smile… the one that makes me happy every time I see it…” Yugi cried a bit before chuckling, and smiled, the warm smile that made Yami feel warm, even though he could feel himself becoming ice cold and slipping away.

“Th-Thank you Yugi…” Yami Yugi smiled back, seemingly satisfied that the last thing he saw was the one thing that made him truly happy.

Yugi sat there, with Yami Yugi in his arms, and everything around him seemed to fade away. Only Yami’s smiling quiet face was what remained, keeping Yugi by his side, until Yami stirred no longer, and the realm around the two disappeared.

Existence itself faded away.
