And now, Sakai Michiba presents,
What I Feel
Hate
What I felt
What we used
What we sought
A game that we played
On and on and on
Ire
What burned
As an adjective,
How I thrived
Looking at you
Seeing nothing, nothing at all
Despise
What I did
Every time we met
Every time I thought
That sneer, that laugh
Tearing at me
Detestation
From the moment we met
No, not then,
But after
As I grew to know
Your hubristic gaze
Indifference
What grew between us
As the years rolled on
As hate lessened
As we grew up together
As we forgot
Interest
A mention
A sharp turn of the head,
I looked, there
You were standing
Looking at me, too.
Intensity
That gaze, never faltering
A step, two, three,
Reaching, a touch
Suddenly, I’m falling
And you’re beside me.
There was no hate after that.
A smile, a wink, a nod,
Yes, but no hate
Just two letters and a scramble
Away from want
And that’s how I feel now.
