I know it's short, but it's good poetry. Please, read! I don't own ANYTHING!

I'm dedicating this story to all of the actors who are dead now, from MASH. I believe they are Larry Linville and McLean Stevenson. Please, if I got my info wrong, tell me!

RIP

Wow! This is really short, as people have told me countless times!

4077

The distant rumble of artillery. The roar of a jeep in the compound. The faint clink of martini glasses. The usual shuffle of people. The moans of the wounded.

The shrapnel hitting hard against the tin, from a boy only just 15. A blood valve snaps. Blood everywhere. Onto the surgeon's face. There is a sad frown & blood on his gown.

The tired joke and humor to lighten up the mood. The gone heartbeat of a lad just here. The priest giving last rights to the person to the left and right of you.

The distant cry of the chopper. Hustle in the mess tent. Poker game of cards, muffled laugh. Choppers in the compound all over again.

This is the typical day at the MASH. 18 hour shifts, and sometimes even more. Clerk + Colonel writing a letter to the family, of the boy who just passed away. Bomb shells exploding 2 feet away. This is a typical day.
