In the Arms of the Angel
Usagi wanted to die right than. Everyone was gone, everyone she loved had been destroyed. Yet she was not mad at the Golden Senshi before her. Galaxia was not responsible; it was the chaos that she harbored inside.
spend all your time waiting
for that second chance
for a break that would make it okay
there's always one reason
to feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
Oh beautiful release
memory seeps from my veins
let me be empty
and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight
Usagi did not want to destroy Galaxia; she wanted to save her. Her sword shattered, her crystal not containing enough power only severed to make her defenseless, but she didn’t give up. My mother didn’t give up, my friends didn’t give up and I’ll save this. This isn’t how it ends.
in the arms of an angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort there
Usagi continued to fight the battle despite her tiredness. She would not show any weakness, she was a Serenity and like her mother before her she would sacrifice everything for the ones she loved.
so tired of the straight line
and everywhere you turn
there's vultures and thieves at your back
and the storm keeps on twisting
you keep on building the lie
that you make up for all that you lack
it don't make no difference
escaping one last time
it's easier to believe in this sweet madness oh
this glorious sadness that brings me to my knees
Usagi, no Serenity, entered the Cauldron, warmth consuming her immediately. Her soft white wings flew her through to the center. I will release my friends, I will save them! She stopped as a form blocked her path. As the form took shape, Serenity looked for a way around it. A voice brought her back.
“Daughter,” it softly called.
“Moth…Mother?” she said hesitantly
“Oh my Serenity, no Sailor Cosmos, you have done what I could not. You’re heart is more pure than any this Cauldron has seen. You truly are a gift, a messiah, a queen,” The former Queen Serenity replied. “And you are my daughter.”
“Mother!” She cried throwing herself at the woman in white. Queen Serenity held her trembling daughter’s form, knowing this might be the last time for many centuries. Around the two bright colored stars broke free from their casing and as fallen stars returned to the fallen warriors.
Queen Serenity began to dissolve and in one burst of white light shattered the pieces falling upon her daughter’s soft skin.
“You are never alone, my daughter, you shall always have my arms for comfort.”
