When Inuyasha Met Kagome

By: (v)e

Chapter One: Together Again

"Kagome!" Inuyasha called out rushing to the girl that was positioned in the entryway of his two bedroom apartment. Kagome smiled and dropped her four bags and purse with a boom! Inuyasha took in her lovely form. It had been two years since he had seen his best friend from childhood. When he looked her over, he had to gasp from the sight of her. The little Kagome he knew was gone, replaced by a volumptuous woman with curves in every right place. He dragged his gaze to her face and saw she had taken notice of his examination. Two years in France had done her good. She had been cute when she left, but now she was drop-dead gorgeous.

Don't get his intentions wrong, they were just friends, and that was the way it worked best. Whenever they had dated, they had just screwed it all up and ended up with heartache. Till Inuyasha had finally said they should just be friends for good. He smiled at her blushing and held his arms wide.

"Two years and I still don't get a hug?" He teased. She hugged him and arched her eyebrow when he frowned. "What, no kiss?" She smiled again and went in for a peck. But when their lips touched for that brief instant, they couldn't seem to pull away from each other. It was soon a heated embrace that neither wanted to be released from. His tongue swept to hers with a possesive force that left her breathless with new feeling. One she had never imagined had existed. It was a quickening in her tummy. Never with anyone had she felt this wonderful feeling.

It excited her, making her feel helpless and womanly. She was always the one to initiate anything with her boyfriends. No one had taken such power over her. And usually that was the way she liked it. She was in control over everything. But now it was well worth the helplessness she felt in Inuyasha's arms. 'He is a much better kisser me. He must be great in bed!...OMG! Did I just think...oh, goodness must think...this is Inuyasha...best friends...never work out...lips...' Her thoughts trailed off as hands went to her hips. She broke away, remembering that this was Inuyasha.

Inuyasha had never felt anything so wonderful as when she was in his arms. She was so timide in their kiss, so perfect. His stomach flipped over as she bit his tongue. He gasped and felt her pull away all to soon. Her face was flushed and her lips rosy with his kisses. He had never seen anything so sexy as she was right now. Her hair had become messed up and tangled, adding to her allure. She was breathless and so, he found, was he. He had to remember to breath as her blush deepened to crimson. God, how did he go from a hug to making out with her? It was obvious, but he knew that he had planned to keep his other head under control. It was true that he only had enough blood for one of them to function at once.

"What was that?" She asked in a happily breathless voice. Inuyasha felt heat run through his stomach and quickly put three steps between them. He put on a goofily fun look and said, "Like old times, remember? We'd sneak off to the woods behind my old house when you were 15 and practice. Don't tell me you forgot!" He laughed and grabbed her bags. She followed, but he didn't see her slapping the flesh of her cheeks in attempts to calm the heat between her legs. Or the fake choking she did as she realized she was just a friend, taking her pencil and stabbing herself, as if to fall over.

Inuyasha led the way to her bedroom, which he had furnished with her in mind. There were millions of posters that had come with her bags hung up everywhere. They were posters that had been framed with black frames and stark white mats. Peices from da Vinci to Pacasso to Monet. There were also the many sketches that Kagome took so much pride in. They were mostly of Inuyasha, because he was her easiest model. She knew he better than he knew himself sometimes, it seemed. They were of him eating and sleeping. Ones of him in the wind, everything. Even when he was 3.

Kagome went to the doorway to stand beside him and mocked a frown at him. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were conceited."

He smiled at her and threw at arm around his friend. "No, not conceited, I just know you all too well. In 19 years your room has never changed. Always art on the walls and sketches of me!" He proclaimed with half annoyance and happiness. It was hard to explain to her boyfriends why her walls were littered with sketches of her roommate/best friend. She had lost over 99.9 of boyfriends over her fascination with his face. She loved sketching it. Ever since they were children, she had drawn him, having been born with the skill to sketch.

"Come on, I got to finish lunch." He pronounce, throwing the bags at her and walking off as he heard the tell-tale "INUYASHA!" that came with a sudden BOOM! She was the most uncoordinated girl he had met in his life. She could trip over a decrepit flea and fall on her face. But he did enjoy catching her.

Kagome got up and glared at the door as if it were all its fault. She threw the bags on her bed and stalked to the huge kitchen that Inuyasha thought was his 'child'. It was a spacious kitchen with two stoves, thirty feet of counter space, all butcher's chopping board, a pot rack, blenders, an old fashion toaster, the one that fits into the stove, and an island that had a grill on it.

Inuyasha was a culinary arts major in college, knowing the entire 3rd year cookbook by heart. Personally, Kagome couldn't boil water. He said that the reason he was a cooking major, was because he liked to eat. And cooking wasn't just his only talent. He could play the guitar and sing. She was the only one that knew, because he only had the guts to sing around her. He gave guitar lessons at a music store part-time.

She marched in HIS kitchen and saw that he was at the counter, chopping onions at light-speed, one of her fears had always been that he would chop off a finger. She looked at the pot rack that hung over the island and smirked. He didn't notice she was in here. He was listening to the CD she had given him that he had said he hated. She smiled again as he started singing along. "Everywhere I go, every smile I see, I know you're up there, shining back at me..."(Janet Jackson!)

Kagome reached up and slowly took every pot off the rack and laid them on the island. Inuyasha was a neat freak and hated his pots out of place. She turned and scurried away as he turned around. She watched as he groaned and placed them back. She continued this for a few more times till he turned and caught her in the act and swung her to the den sofa and locked her out of the kitchen. Kagome huffed at the door playfully for a moment and went to her room. She sighed and decided to start sketching. She brought the image she had never told anyone she had seen, into her mind and began to sketch, in the safety of her room.

She tried to remember the sexy dream she'd had about herself and Inuyasha that had taken place in the bathroom, but all she could think about was that day...

The day she had come this same apartment three weeks before she was to leave for France. Kikyo had just dumped him for some player named Naraku. She had snuck in to cheer him up with a decrepit looking birthday cake she had struggled through making for him. It had started leaning on one side on the way over, and she knew he would laugh so hard when he saw it. It had a white puppy card with it too that said, 'You're too cute to be sad, my puppy-dog! Happy B-day'. Inuyasha was half-inu-youkai, which had never bothered her. She had thought it was awesome to have a friend that could jump thirty feet in the air and hear every conversation within fifty feet.

She had used the house key he had given her and slipped in unnoticed, wondering where he was. She had heard nothing to tell where he was. He couldn't be in the shower and he never took baths. She figured he would be in the kitched cooking, something he did when he was sad or angry. He would end up giving all the food to Sango, Miroku or herself. He couldn't eat his 'hurt food', he said it tasted terrible to him, but it tasted normal to his friends.

She snuck into the house and found no one there, but his car was in the parking lot. She searched again and froze as she heard a splash. DAMN! Of all days he had decided to take a bath! By the scent it was the Axe bubble bath she had given him for his birthday the day before. She had to smile at the pleasing scent. She loved Axe!

By knowing this, she knew that he was covered in bubbles, so she put the cake down and grabbed the silly string she had prepared to bombard him with. She shook it silently and froze as he heard, "I know you're there, Kagome, you might as well come in..." The voice was weak and unstable.

Kagome remembered the terror she had felt at that sound and dropped the silly string. She raced in there and saw him submerged in a pool of bloody water. She screamed and fell to her knees at his side. The bathroom was a shadow of what it had once been. The hand made tiles were broken and strewn across the floor, their martial arts symbols destroyed beyond any repair. Blood was covering the walls and floor. The mirror was broken, the glass cutting into her knees and hands, her feets dripping blood.

"Inuyasha, what happened!" She asked frantically, ignoring that he had only his boxers on. There were tears staining his face, bloody hand prints on his body. She hadn't known what to think. She grabbed the first aid kit contents that were strewn all over the floor, her eyes never leaving his golden ones. He stilled her hand.

"Please, Kagome, just let me die."

"Oh, hell no, Inuyasha Taisho! You are not going to kill yourself over that bimbo!" She shouted determinedly as she hauled him out of the water, clearing out a spot with her bleeding feet and hands. She still didn't know where that strength had come from. She pulled him out and bandaged him up with gauze and tape. He was starting to fade, but she couldn't let him go. "Please, Inuyasha, please don't do this..." She pleaded with him, her eyes blurring with tears.

He smiled at Kagome and took her hand in his bloodied one. "Stupid, you're always getting scared..."

"There's nothing stupid about it! Inuyasha, please don't leave me." She stumbled through her words like a newborn baby walking on jello. There was a pause when Kagome thought she had lost him as she dialed the phone number for the hospital on her cell phone. She looked up and saw he was studying her intently through his pain.

"Kagome...Kagome, why? What do I have to live for? A few measy friends that really can't stand me-"

"I don't hate you! I-i l-"

"What? Is it that hard to say you even like me?"

"I love you!"

Inuyasha seemed to be lost to her in that moment and all Kagome could do was cry as she held him, waiting for the ambulance to get there and to help him. It didin't matter to her that most fo the tile of the bathroom had cut into her feet, hands, and thighs as she held him, praying for all the gods to save the man she loved. It was in that moment, she knew that she would never be able to see him as anything but a lover, her Inuyasha, and as she felt his life slip away she became hysterical, calling on all the miko powers in her blood line to save his life, even if it meant sacrificing her own. She felt it flow out of her, her very life force...

Kagome was jarred out of her memories by a snap outside her door. She snapped out of her daze and wiped away the three tear trails that were evidence of her sorrow from her face. She stood and saw what she had drawn. She gasped as she saw that it was her and Inuyasha. She was surprised only because she had never drawn herself. And it looked just like her. That wasn't the biggest shocker, it was the position and the clothing...or lack there of. How did that come out of remembering Inuyasha's near death experience? That made no sense to her. She had the strangest mind.

Kagome shook her head and filed that one away for later speculation.

Inuyasha tapped on the door again and waited impatiently for her to open the door. When she did, Inuyasha came inside with platter after platter of food, claiming, "Welcome home, Kagome!" She tried to smile as he put down the platters of food on her desk and in tables. He sat down and pulled one of the trays to him, revealing the contents. It was-

"Oden! My favorite food!" She said with forced enthusiasm. Inuyasha noticed her forced happiness and sat the tray down at her feet which were folded. "Kagome, are you okay? You look like you've been crying." She shrugged. He pulled her to sit in front of him on the bed.

Kagome sat with her legs under her, absently opening the scars on her feet, a nervous habit. They had never properly healed due to the large amount of energy she'd given Inuyasha. She had developed the habit while trying to cope with her lost ki.

Inuyasha noticed the compulsion and pulled her hand away, "Kagome, what's this? I thought you stopped doing that, you know it'll make walking painful." She could never hide anything from Inuyasha. She pulled her bloody hands away from her red feet. She put her arms around his middle and laid her head on his chest. He stiffened in confusion. She had seemed so happy when she arrived.

"Inuyasha, do you rememeber?...three weeks before I left for France?" Inuyasha swallowed. They hadn't talked about the incident in the bathroom. There hadn't been time, they had spent most of those three weeks away from each other, too scared to say anything about what Kagome had confessed that evening.

"I remember..." He gulped out, suddenly breathless. "Kagome...why are you bringing this up? Please-"

"I need to. I keep dreaming about it. I even went to a shrink about it, but I can't get what happened out of my head, it's constantly there. It might be because of what I gave you that night. But I don't know. I can feel you always right here," she brought his hand to her chest, and let him feel her pounding heart.

"Well, then we're just going to have to cure that...with some gourmet cooking by yours truly," He said as he rose and uncovered the remaining dishes. "Ramen and chicken, oden and shrimp, and sake brownies." He said cockily as she gaped. Inuyasha could always cure heartache with his brownies.

"Inuyasha, what would I do without you?" She asked as he grabbed a plate and piled it high with food. She yiped, her worries gone momentarily. There would be time to talk about those things later. When the time was right. Though she would soon be very sad that she had forgotten she left out her 'picture'. She remembered as she saw him pick it up, about to turn it over. "No! Inuyasha, you can't look at that!"

"Why not?" He asked as he tried to turn it over. "Because it's a drawing of...that night." She said, turning on her white lie mode. He scoffed. "Nothing can be worse than that night." She gasped as he was about to turn it over.

"Inuyasha, please, stop, that's not meant for human eyes!" She said, popping in the space between the picture and him, his arms wrapping about her. "Well, then I'm okay, because I'm not human." He said slyly letting her go and flipping the picture over.

There was silence for a moment as he looked over it. She had her eyes closed and her hands over her eyes. She sat on the bed, her hands falling in her lap, as Inuyasha continued to stare at it, frozen in stupor over the detailed drawing.

"Kagome, I-don't know what to say..."

"You don't have to say anything, Inu. You're a man, I'm a woman. Besides I just had my birth control injection, it's like 30 testosterone, you know, for my hot flashing." She said falsely. "I hadn't seen you in two years and I show up, seeing a really hot guy, I fell asleep for a moment, and you know I dream draw." She said trying to weasel her way out. She started reaching for her plate agian, trying to take his mind off the picture. He hadn't stopped staring at it the entire time.

She paused as his hand shot out and stalled her hand. She looked into his eyes as he dropped the picture, it floating to the floor. The heat that shot through them was not artificially induced. His hands traveled up her back slowly, savoring the shivers that raced along her spine. One hand was content to stay at her waist, while the other went to her face, cupping it. "Kagome, do you really feel that way about me?" He asked, his voice soft and alluring.

"And what if I say no?"

"Then you're going to need a tazor and a lot of cold water." His face was deadly serious.

She blushed at the bluntness of the statement. "And if I say yes?"

"Then you had better be glad you just got your birth control." She waited for a moment. And then found she was supposed to answer. She blushed. "Um, Inuyasha-you-I've never-"

"I know. I'll go slow with you. I've had a lot more experience in this field than just kissing." She smiled at the chills she felt from the heated breath on her neck. "How did you know?" She asked, everytime she had a date, he would leave and come back after the guy had left.

"I would have smelt it. Tell me, why didn't you ever let any of them have you, but you're letting me?" It perked his interest why she would allow her best friend to touch when they had bareyl ever been romantically envolved.

"Because I trust you, you'll take care of me. You won't hurt me." She whispered as he began to explore her body. Touching, kissing and loving every inch of her with slow deliberation over every detail on her body. Her cries were muted by his mouth on hers as he undressed her. When he paused to take off his own clothing, she propped herself on her forearms to watch him. Sure, she had done nude paintings of him before, but that was professional criticism. This was seduction. And he...he...was magnificent. That was the only thing she could say as she saw his fully erect form. Her breath caught when he met her gaze with a heated expection. Pride blazing in the cocky depths of gold.

She was perfect in his hands as she found pleasure in his arms. She was writhing with want after her first orgasm, waiting impatiently for his touch as he left her. She whimpered in doubt but squealed in surprise as she felt something cold on her skin. She looked down and saw ice cream strewn all over her stomach. He looked at her like a tasty treat, licking every drop from between her breasts to the triangle of hair between her thighs. The pleasure was building inside her to the point she had to hold on and scream his name to keep from falling to pieces.

When she came, she howled loudly to the heavens. Her cires pierced the walls, sounding for miles. She was trembling when he faced her, smiling in arrogance at the wonder on her face. He kissed her cheek tenderly. His arms went to her shoulders and began to shake her violently. "Inuyasha, what are you-?"

"Kagome! Wake up! Dinner's ready, sleepy." Damn...
