DRAGON EYES 2: THE NEXT GENERATION

They thought everything was going to be fine...

...They were terribly wrong...

Chapter 1

Sorting of the Malfoy Heiress

It was the first time in his life he'd ever felt like this. Tense. Anxious. Full out, bluntly, Curious. It annoyed him. He wasn't supposed to feel this way! But, as those large oak doors burst open, suddenly it became worth it. That little girl with the silver-blonde hair, bright silver eyes..the perfect little girl. His little girl.

She was such a content child, too. She never cried when she scraped her knee. She only wept for things worth crying for, like death and poverty. That's how her daddy had raised her. To keep her head up high, to be a soldier.

And now she was beginning the first day of her new life. The first day of her teen-years. She was growing up..

But she didn't look nervous at all.

Alas, it was he who was the nervous one. His stomache was contorted into tight knots that extended all the way up to the lump in his throat.

It was a gentle, red headed woman who pulled him from his thoughts. It was his wife. That little girl's mother.

"She's going to be fine, Draco" She whispered. "You act like you've never been through this before."

Truth be told, he had never gone through this before. And yet, he had.

His son had been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry just last year. But there was a differenceHis son was expected to be capable of facing the world. His son was not to be worried about, he was growing into a man faster than most of his peers. It was the way Draco made him.

But his daughter. She wasn't a man. She was a defenseless little girl. Very spunky and ambitious at heart, not to mention intelligent, yet...he still had nerves for her. What if she were sorted into the wrong house?

yes, this is what Draco worried about the most. Orion Draconus Malfoy had been accepted into the Slytherin house just last year, to his father's great delight. Though this pleasure was not shared by the other half of his family, namely the Weasleys.

Draco and his life long friend, Blaise, had always been experts at predicting which house a certain student would be sorted into. It was a favorite game between the two, as professors at the school. This was the only time Draco had been stumped. And he hated it.

He was mainly afraid that she would be a Gryffindor. He despised Gryffindors, though ironically enough, the woman he married was infact one of them. In his eyes, she was an exception.

Draco feared that his daughter would be lost if she were to be sorted into a different house other than Slytherin. She was tough, but she was very close with her brother. Could she handle such a big school on her own? Secretly, he knew the answer.

Tzipora Malfoy was very different from her brother, from the rest of the family for that matter. She had her father's dominant features, her mother's freckles and build. She was clever like her father and kind like her mother. Yet she had a spark about her...that nobody could explain. It was as if she could twist your heart to her will with just one blink of her moon-like eyes.

And the fact that she was a natural Metamorphagus contributed.

Draco gave his wife a small smile before turning his attention to the Slytherin table. Ryan seemed just as confused as his father. How he resembled his senior, it was remarkable. The same hair, eyes, and build. He was blessed with his mothers freckles and her nose. He was a bit kinder than Draco was back in his school days, but only a bit.

The father and son exchanged looks when the aging Minerva McGonnagall reached the M's on her list. The traditional sorting ritual had never been so interesting to Draco Malfoy before. In fact, Blaise and Ginevra seemed quite absorbed as well. Her house was a complete mystery to the three of them. Draco just wanted to shoo Mallory, Fiona off the stool to make way for his daughter, before the anticipation killed him.

And then the moment of truth finally came.

"Malfoy, Tzipora Raine"

How she was so bouncy at a time like this, Draco had no idea. She seemed quite cheery for a girl who's fate was about to be deciphered by the tip of a hat. Literally.

She sat on that stool for a good 4 and a half minutes.

Draco squeezed his wife's hand.

Ryan squirmed in his seat.

And then...

"SLYTHERIN!"

Draco relaxed and heaved a sigh of relief.

"I knew it..."

To Be Continued..

SUPER LONG A/N I suggest you read this one, guys!: Well this is the very beginning to a totally new fic! Do you likey? I HOPE! I probably won't have the next chapter out for a while, since I'm currently working on 3 other stories on the side((((Love, Death and Bulgaria-started-Joint fic on SN LongLiveCedricDiggory By Twist of FateIn Progress Private Eye-Wizarding HolocaustComing SOON!))))but this is just a taster of what the story's going to start out like. I hope its good enough! I know Dragon Eyes wasn't that good, since it only got 78 reviews, but I plan to make this one better. I've learned more about writing since then.

This installment is going to be mainly about Tzipora and Ryan Malfoy, so thats why I went into a bit of detail about them in this chapt. Don't fear, however, you will have plenty of DG in this story as well.

I hope you review, and if you haven't read Dragon Eyes, I suggest you read it! I dont plan on this being a dependent story on DE, but just in case, you might want to read it for reference sake, especially concerning Draco, Ginny, Sirius, and Snape.

Also, if this installmet is a success, I already have an idea for a 3rd one cookin' up in the ol' noodle. We'll see how it goes.

But the more reviews, the sooner I'll consider stewin up a new chapter!
