Let’s get it started!
“I feel like shit.”
“I figured.”
Harry sniffled and pulled his head out of the bowl of the gross toilet, flushing it all down. He slumped against the wall and let the tears fall, “Why do I feel so bad Dray?”
“Oh baby,” Draco slid forward and sat on the floor next to his crying angel, he pulled the smaller man onto his lap and hugged him tightly. “I don’t know why you feel so bad. Maybe you have the flu?”
“I don’t think it’s the flu!” Harry whined, wiping his tears away, only to have more drip down his cheeks. “I hate being sick.”
“Everyone hates being sick.”
“I haven’t been this sick in a long time though!”
“What do you want me to do baby? Want me to call Poppy?”
“No. I have an appointment later today. After my lunch with everyone. Can you make it?”
Draco shook his head, “No, not this time.”
“Draco, ever since you started going up in the Ministry you never have time for anything anymore. Millie is getting mad at you and Greg told me to tell you that if you miss another lunch he was going to beat you up. Of course he asked my permission first and I gave it to him. Pansy just said that you know what she will do to you. Blaise said nothing. I swear sometimes she bugs the hell out of me.”
“I’m sorry babes and tell the rest the same but you know I have this huge thing I’m working on. And we have that dinner with my mum tonight remember?”
“Oh yeah...”
“I can always cancel if you want me to my love.”
“No, no. I’ll be okay.”
“If you insist,” Draco said. He then slid an arm under his husband’s legs and raised the two of them off the ground. Harry smiled and wrapped his arms around the taller mans neck. He hated his height but he loved the fact that Draco could hold him so easily. The blond set him in bed and pulled the covers up to his chin. He smiled at the small man and kissed him softly.
“You’re adorable.”
Harry grinned up at him and Draco sat down next to him. “I’ll call you to wake you up okay?”
Harry nodded and rolled over onto his side, burrowing into the covers. He felt a soft hand on his back and his eyes drifted close as he felt Draco stand from the bed and make his way into the bathroom to get ready for work.
It was a few hours that Harry faintly heard the phone on his side of the bed ring before Draco’s voice filled the large room.
“Wake up sleepy head. Time to get up baby. Harry... get up, love.”
The man in question rolled over and slapped the speaker button on the phone, “Hi.”
“Hi, baby. Feel better?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s great babes. Now it’s time for you to get your ass out of bed and into the shower for your lunch.”
“I know.” Harry kicked the covers off of himself and swung his legs to the side of the bed, his feet touching the ground. He stood from the bed and moved towards the wardrobe.
“We need a shorter bed,” he said as he opened the doors to the cabinet.
“Aww, having trouble getting out of bed?”
“Draco, shut up while you’re ahead. And no, I didn’t have trouble getting out of bed. I’m just sick of having to almost jump to get on it. And if you make a height joke I swear to you, you won’t be allowed to so much touch me for two weeks.”
He could hear Draco pout into the phone, “That’s not fair.”
“Life isn’t fair my love. Well I have to go. Love you.” He wandered back to the phone as Draco was saying bye and giving his love. The small man smiled at this lover and moved to the radio, turning it on and up.
It was a half an hour later when the music was turned down and Harry pulled on his coat to leave their apartment. He wandered down the stairs and outside into the old air, walking down the sidewalk. Turning the corner he smiled at the sight in front of him.
Pansy sat at the table they had claimed years ago, a book in front of her along with coffee. Harry slowly walked up to her and pulled out the chair next to the woman he had come to think was a sister.
Without even looking up from her book she greeted him, “Hello darling.”
“Hi.”
“No better half today?”
“Nope.”
“What is it this time?”
“Huge client.”
“Wasn’t that what it was last time?”
“Yeah...” Harry trailed off.
“Is everything okay?”
“Yeah... I think.”
“I’m always here if you need to talk okay.”
“Thanks Pans.”
“WHY HELLO YOU TWO!” Millicent bounced up to the table, Vince close behind. They were still going strong for being together since sixth year. Blaise and Greg followed closely. They all sat down and started to chat when Neville ran up to the table and plopped himself down into the chair next to his girlfriend. He grinned at them all, placed a kiss on Pansy’s cheek and ordered a coffee from the waiter that was wandering around before dropping his arm behind the black haired girls’ chair. Millicent was the first one to notice Harry’s fatigue.
“Darling, you look weary.”
Pansy turned, “You do! Are you alright! Waiter! Water please!”
“I’m fine! I have an appointment with later today.”
“Oh, is that that really nice doctor that helped us with injuries after the war?” Neville asked, glancing at his best friend.
Harry nodded, smiling slightly, “Yeah. Draco and I always go to him now. He’s the only one we both really trust, besides Poppy of course.”
“How is she by the way?” Vince asked, ordering another drink.
“Wonderful. She’s excited about being able to retire finally. She wouldn’t tell me who is taking over though.”
Their food came and the conversation drifted to work and as Harry was the only one who didn’t (Draco wouldn’t let him (they had gotten in a huge fight about it)) he couldn’t really drift into the chat. It was a few hours later when Harry glanced at his watch and stood from the table, “I got to go guys. I’ll call you later okay Pans?”
She nodded and he wandered down the street before he shoved his hand out with his wand hidden and the giant purple bus bounced down the street.
“Welcome to the Knight Bus. Anywhere you wanna do just tell us and we’ll take ya!” Stan opened his eyes and smiled widely, “Heya Harry!”
“Hi Stan, How are you?”
“I’m great! How are ya?”
“Good good. Can you take me to ’s Office please?”
“Sure thing Harry. Five sickles please!” He held out his hand and Harry gave him the money before he plopped down into one of the chairs and the bus was off again, stopping at the Leaky Cauldron before heading to ’s office. He hopped off the bus, waved to Stan and Ernie and wandered inside.
“Good Afternoon Mr. Potter. Just sign in please,” Lynette smiled at him and gestured to the clipboard on the counter next to her.
He flashed her a charming smile and wrote his name on the line, “How are you Lynette?”
“I’m wonderful. How are you?”
“Sick.”
“Aww you poor little thing. shall be with you in a few, darling, just take a seat.”
Harry complied, sitting down on a fluffy couch. He reached over and picked up a magazine about Child Birth and was looking confusedly at one of the pictures when a deep laugh caused him to look over the magazine. Dr. Geoffrey Standford stood in the doorway, leaning against the frame. His chocolate eyes twinkled with amusement and he had more gray hair then the last time Harry had seen him, mixed into the chocolate colored hair.
“Going to have a sex change Harry?”
Harry laughed, “Oh yes and Draco would be so happy with me for that.”
Geoff smiled and winked, gesturing Harry towards the back room with his head as the door opened and laughter floated in. Lynette jumped up and ran from behind her desk, “Ladies! You are not expected until next week!”
“We came to see our sister!” Voices floated over Geoff and Harry as the taller doctor shoved him towards one of the rooms.
“I’ll be right back.” His anger was evident in his eyes and his voice and Harry watched as he spun on his heal to stalk down the hallway.
“I told you NO visitors! I don’t know why I even hired you!” Geoff’s voice floated down the hallway and a woman stepped out of the doctor’s lounge with long brown hair and honey eyes, a face Harry would know anywhere.
Hermione rolled her eyes at Geoff and turned around to face him. “You hired me because I’m good at what I do.” She spoke in a snotty voice and looked down upon the older doctor.
His eyes narrowed and he glared back, “I didn’t have to hire you Granger and I can fire you in a matter of minutes. Get your fucking family out of here and if you don’t you’ll be gone before you can open your mouth.” She rolled her eyes, nodded and walked past the room Harry was in, currently wishing he had called Draco before he left the restaurant.
Geoff glared at her back and walked back down the hallway and into Harry’s room. “I’m sorry about that. I personally can not wait until she leaves. I honestly don’t know why I hired her in the first place. I couldn’t stand her when I met her all those years ago why did I think I could stand her now?”
“I dunno?”
“I’m sorry Harry,” he hit the table, “Plop right up here for me and we can start this thing for you.” Harry smiled sympathetically and plopped up on table, “Now, tell me why you’re here.”
“Well, I’m sick of waking up sick.”
“Meaning?”
“Every morning I wake up and run to bathroom to get sick. I’m tired easier and faster and eating more. I feel fatter than normal too.”
Geoff smiled and rose an eyebrow, “Okay. Let’s start. Up!” Harry jumped down and stood straight up. Geoff tapped his wand on the shorter mans head and muttered a spell, “5’4”.” He did it once again, “97 lbs. You are very skinny for your age Harry.”
“I can never seem to take in more than a small amount of food. Believe me Narcissa, Draco and Pansy all try to feed me more but I can never finish it.”
“You said you were malnourished as a child?”
He nodded.
“And locked in a cupboard?”
He nodded again.
“That’s probably why you can’t grow anymore or take any anything besides a certain amount of food. So I wouldn’t worry about that too much.” A knock interrupted the speech and Geoff rolled his eyes, “Yes? Can’t you see I’m busy?”
Hermione’s voice floated though the door, “You have a firecall.”
“Tell them I’m with a patient.”
“It’s your wife.” The older man rolled his eyes again and glanced at Harry, who smiled and nodded telling Geoff to go take the call. The door opened and Hermione was still standing there, looking bored. She looked over the tall mans shoulder and shock overcame her features as she leaned in the doorway.
“Harry.” It was the only word that he had heard her speak without annoyance in it. He stared straight at her, then, with the hand with his wedding ring on it, ran a hand though his hair. She blinked and her eyes got wide. “You got married.”
“Yes, I did.”
“When?”
“Christmas’s after we left school.”
“Wow.”
He blinked and stared at her. She cleared her throat, “I’m shocked I didn’t hear about it.”
“No one did, at least not until after we were married. There were a total of seventeen people there, including myself and Draco. Then Lucius forbade the papers to print it.”
“Who was there?”
“Albus, who preformed it, Remus, who gave me away, Neville stood by me, Pansy by Draco, Millicent, Vincent, Gregory, Blaise, Severus, Lucius, Narcissa, Fred, Lee, George and Katie. Oh and Oliver and Luna, so that makes nineteen. Sorry.”
“The twins were there?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Ask them.” He started to fiddle with his ring as Geoff walked back into the room.
“Your presence is not needed anymore Hermione.” She nodded and left the room. Geoff closed the door and looked back at Harry, shocked. Harry stared at the door and Geoff shrugged, letting the small man get lost in his thoughts as he went though the small steps of the exam. He waved a hand in front of Harry’s face and told him to lie back onto the table then to relax as best as he could.
“I think I know what is wrong with you but I just want to make sure okay? So I’m going to do the spell now. It shouldn’t do anything more than tingle. Tell me if you feel warmth,” Geoff explained and Harry nodded, watching as Standford muttered a spell over his belly. Immediately warmth filled him and he closed his eyes in content. “Let me guess. It’s warm?”
A nod from the emerald eyed man and open eyes.
“Well than, let me be the first to wish you a congratulations. You’re going to have a baby.”
“What? How!” He asked, shocked. Geoff looked confused and Harry sighed, “I grew up in the muggle world.”
“Oh yeah! Sorry Harry. I forgot. Let me explain it to you. Powerful gay males who want children are able to conceive. If you were to ask any of your friends from Hogwarts I can almost guarantee that at least one of them was a result of a same sex couple. Also, if the couple isn’t naturally powerful, there are tons of potions people can take. It’s just like a normal pregnancy.”
Harry sat up slowly and stared at his stomach, resting his hands on top before letting the amazement take him over. “I am, really?”
Standford smiled. “Yeah, you are. Now, I want to see you again in two months okay? You can bring Draco if you like. Take it easy, you don’t want to harm the baby. Not a lot of caffeine or magic. Male pregnancy’s last from 8 to 11 months long, depending on the person. When you come in, in two months we will be able to tell. Yes, you can have sex until the day the baby is born. Your appetite shall increase and you will gain weight. Depending on how long your pregnancy is I might put you on bed rest for the last month considering your size okay? Is that understandable?” A nod of shocked amazement, “And I’ll give you something to help with the morning sickness. Talk with the woman in your life that have had children and be sure to tell Draco. He’ll be able to tell soon if you don’t.” Geoff handed Harry his coat, which was on the chair and three bottles of an orange potion, “One sip before bed every night. If it doesn’t help tell me, I have some other kinds.”
“Thank you Doctor.”
“Harry?”
Green eyes met brown, “Be safe okay?”
A nod and black hair went flying before Harry vanished out of the room and Geoff leaned against the table.
Walking the street to their apartment Harry checked the time. It five after five, Draco should be home. He crossed his arms over his chest and shivered in the cold. Wandering down the street a bit further he opened the door to their building and started up the steps, thinking of a way to tell Draco about the baby. He opened the door and was instantly embraced in a large hug that lifted him off the ground.
“Harry! Where were you? You were supposed to be home at three and I’ve already been home an hour! I’ve been worried sick about you my love. Are you alright?”
Harry looked up at Draco and kissed him hard, “I love you, you know that?”
“Of course I know it. I love you too.”
The ex-seeker was silent for a moment, looking down at his feet and Draco watched, scared, “A lot?”
“More than anything and with every fiber of my being.”
Harry looked up at Draco and the silver eyed man saw excitement, amazement and nervousness in the emerald orbs, “I found out why I’ve been getting sick.”
“And?”
“Well, it’ll go away soon but the effects will last forever.”
“Harry.”
“Can we not go to your parents tonight?” He looked up at his husband from behind his hair, green eyes pleading.
Draco nodded, even more scared now. He snapped and their house elf appeared, “Tell my parents that we will not be joining them for dinner because Harry does not feel well and that I have a headache.”
The elf nodded and vanished with a pop.
“Love, what is it?” Draco asked softly.
“We are going to be parents.” It was whispered.
Draco blinked, “What?”
“You heard me. We are going to have a baby. With your hair and my eyes and ten perfect fingers and ten perfect toes.”
Astonished happiness flew off of the blond in waves, “Really?”
A smile covered Harry’s lips, “Really.” He said it while nodding.
Draco stared at Harry in shock as emerald eyes stared up at him. Draco let a smile cover his lips and he slowly dropped to his knees in front of his husband and set his ear on Harry’s stomach, “Wow.” Harry ran his figures though the blond hair and they stood like that for a long time, in peaceful silence. The house-elf came back with Narcissa’s message yet they still stood the same way they were. The blond stood suddenly and pulled the black haired man down the hallway and to their room. A gasp filled the air as Harry was set on the bed softly.
“I’m pregnant, not incapable Draco.”
“Shush love.” He pulled up Harry’s shirt and placed a kiss on his belly. Harry smiled as he watched his lover rest his blond head on his tan stomach. Draco’s eyes were closed in complete contentment that Harry felt floating off of him in heavy waves. Draco sat up suddenly and yanked off his shirt, tossing it to land on the chair next to the wall. He laid down again, his breath tickling Harry’s abdomen. Harry’s hands went to the blond hair and they sat in silence for a long time, both excited about the life they had created.
