Running Away- Chapter 4
Hi! Well, it's here!
Harper sat up, screaming. He just screamed one word, Sandra. His eyes focused, and he found his purple pixie staring down at him in concern.
Harper saw he was in his least favorite place, the damn Medical Bay. He looked into Trance's eyes, and felt calm.
The memories of what happened flooded into his mind. He started coughing, an uncontrolable urge. He laid back down, and felt the blood gurgle in his throat.
Trance whispered something to him, but he couldn't tell what she was saying. She moved away, just to be replaced by Rommie.
She looked down at him with such a strong feeling of regret and sadness. "How are you feeling, Harper?" she asked him, guilt lacing her words.
"I've been better." he said, not looking at her. "Listen, Harper. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to kick you out of the matrix. Something's wrong." Her words drifted off as she stared at his data port.
Puss and blood spurted out of it. She could not even see the connector inside, that let's him come into the matrix, because it was so swollen.
Harper looked up, and said, "I know, Rommie. It's not your fault." Still seeing that look on her, he smiled. It didn't reach his eyes, however.
Trance rushed back in, and ushered Rommie out.
"How are you feeling, Harper?" Trance asked in an upbeat voice.
"M'fine. Really." Harper answered. Trance ran her fingers through his hair. He smiled, his eyes sparkling.
He stood up, with a very worried Trance holding his waist by the tail. "Harper, are you sure your ready to stand up? You might get dizzy." Harper just shook his head, making more blood trickle out.
He hobbled to the door, then turned back around. "Thanks, Trance." He smiled, then gave her a hug. She hugged back, trying to hide a smile.
Suddenly, he doubled over, groanning in pain. He clutched his stomach, feeling the eggs wiggle around. Trance held his body up as he doubled over in pain. He straightened up a moment later, letting a sad smile play on his face.
All of the sudden, they found themselves kissing. Harper broke off, a true smile struggling on his face. They held each other for a long time. Then, they were kissing again, pressing their lips harder. They were interuppted by Dylan's booming voice.
"Meet on the Command Deck."
