Harper's Revenge-Part 3

OMG! I am SO SORRY I haven't posted for a LONG while! I've been busy with other stories! I am SO SORRY! Can you please forgive me? Um...did you get that the initials of the Searching Squad is SS? You know, 'SS', like in the 2nd World War? No connection or hidden meaning, really.

Rommie stood with her hands clasped behind her, as she stood next to her captain. He tapped his foot impatiently, waiting for the bay doors to open and allow the Searching Squad in.

The doors swooshed open, and allowed two people in. Dylan had been expecting a whole group of people, not just two. They were humans, with short, spiked up black hair, long slick black trench coats, black pants, and black boots. If there was no light to set them apart, they would blend right into the blackness of the bay.

One stepped forward. "Captain Hunt." He reached out his hand, and Dylan shook it briskly. "Marshall Loft." Dylan looked into his eyes, and saw that they were steel black, just like the rest of him. "And that's Daniel." He added as an after thought, pointing to his assistant.

"This won't take long. A quick scan of your cargo, a check of all of your crew, standard stuff." Marshall Loft nodded his head to his assistant, who had his head down. Daniel pulled out a scanner, and took a sweep scan. "Go check out the cargo and engineering. Then, find the crew and check them." Daniel nodded, head still down, and shuffled out of the room.

"Captain, if you could just show me your crew..." Dylan nodded, then motioned for the Marshall to follow him.

Rommie's sister, the ship and the AI, spoke up to Rommie, who was the only one left standing there. "Harper's vital signs are unusually high." She said flatly, downloading the life form information to the ship-made-flesh. Rommie's brow wrinkled as she checked Harper's life sign for herself. He was sweating considerably and his heart rate had doubled.

"What do you think is wrong with him?" Rommie asked herself. "I am not sure. I can not do a more thorough scan."

Rommie looked up. "Why not?"

"Harper is in engineering, and has engaged privacy mode. Before he put privacy mode on, I got a reading. It looks like he's nervous, with the elevated heart beat. There is something else wrong, though. I'm analyzing it at this moment." Rommie nodded to herself, then was about to turn around when she remembered something. "Why does he have it in privacy mode?"

"You know Harper. The only time he doesn't have privacy mode on is when he is with another person. Well, except this time."

"What do you mean?"

"The other man of the Searching Squad, Daniel, is in there with him."

Danny (Daniel) walked through the corridors, knowing exactly where he was going. He stopped when he reached the engineering room. He smiled, an almost evil smile.

He quietly strolled inside, sealing the door shut. Harper looked up sharply, where he was crouching in the shadow of a corner. He snapped up, his eyes slits.

"Ah, Seamus." Danny said, crossing his arms and looking smug. "Danny?" Harper sputtered.

"Seamus, Seamus, Seamus. You did know that when you joined the grand Andromeda Ascendant, your name would be out in the open. Taking place in the surfing competition on Infinity Atoll. Helping with the uprising of the slaves on Earth against the Nietzscheans. Your name is exposed. Did you think your old slave owners would seem to forget your name? Just because you have everybody calling you by your last name doesn't mean they forgot. Your name has been on the escaped slaves list for years now. You thought that if you laid low until your name left the list, no one would look for you. They wouldn't, but you didn't lay low. I'm sure you've seen the wanted list. You've been running so long, that you're not the #1 slave any more, but you're still fairly high. The reward for your capture is still high, though."

"Are you here to turn me in?"

"No. You know I used to be a slave myself, even looked up to you. I'm only taking this job because it promises after 5 years of this, I can be set free. I'm gonna let you go, but you better be careful. Others aren't so sentimental."

Harper nodded, flashing a quick grin. Danny nodded, then left.

Okay, I hate my imagination (JJ). I started three stories that are so SIMILIAR, that I'm having trouble keeping them original and apart. But I'm trying as hard as I can. Okay, I'm going to go back on the last two chapters, and re-do them, so they make sense.

Woah, I wrote that a LONG time ago. It's just been sitting on my computer, collecting dust. Well, sorry it was short, but I think I know what I'm going to do now. And, I am DEFINITELY going back and changing the 1st two chapters, though the 2nd chapter plot will stay the same. Big changes in this story.
