Furry Pelt

One late night, Jaken and Ah-Un are sleeping and for once in his life Sesshomaru is sleeping too. They set up camp by a river. Rin is having trouble sleeping.

“I can’t sleep. Hmm, you know I wonder what that furry thing is that Lord Sesshomaru always carries around.” Rin’s curiosity got the better of her. She slowly walked over to Sesshomaru and gently took his pelt and returned to her sleeping spot.

“It’s so soft and fluffy! I think I’ll play with it! What should I do first? I know I’ll skip rope with it!” So Rin begins to happily skip rope with the pelt. Rin began to sing a little song as she skipped.

Me and Jaken rode on Ah-Un

To go find some food for Sesshomaru

We got some berries and we got some nuts

Jaken got hit in the head with a coconut!

After 50 skips and 5 verses later, Rin was getting bored. “What else can I do with this? I know! I can make it into a lasso.” Rin started swinging the pelt around like a cowgirl. “I’m a cowgirl, I’m a cowgirl!”

An hour later…Rin was getting bored again. “Hmm…what else can I do with this? I know! I’ll make it into a swing!” Rin ties the pelt onto a tree branch and begins to swing on it. “WHEEE! This is the most fun I’ve ever had!”

Unfortunately, for Rin and Sesshomaru’s pelt, the tree branch breaks, sending Rin flying to the other bank and Sesshomaru’s pelt into the river. “Owes…oh no! I’m goanna be in trouble!” Rin gets the pelt and climbs out onto the other bank. “I’d better hang this up to dry.”

As Sesshomaru’s pelt is drying, a few squirrels make themselves at home in his pelt. “The pelt looks pretty dry, so I’d better get it back to Lord Sesshomaru.” Rin returns the pelt just as the sun rises.

“Rin” said Sesshomaru, yawning. “Umm…Good morning my Lord!” “Good morning Rin.” He walks over to the river to stretch his legs and to get a drink of water. Suddenly, he feels something moving in his pelt. “What the!” The squirrels jump out and attack him, causing Sesshomaru to fall into the river.

“Are you ok Lord Sesshomaru?” “Rin, explain to me how squirrels got into my pelt?” “Umm…well…” she drifts off and begins to back away. “Rin” said Sesshomaru. “I’m so sorry my Lord, I was just having fun!” Sesshomaru just stares at her with a disapproving look. Just then, Jaken shows up.

“Lord Sesshomaru, why are you in the river?” Sesshomaru gives him a cold stare. “What happened? Why are you looking at me like that?” Rin begin to cry. “I’m sorry Lord Sesshomaru!” As she runs past Jaken she knocks him into the river.

“Stupid girl…how rude!” “Silence Jaken.” He gets out of the water and goes off to find Rin.

“Rin, where are you? Come out.” He sees her crying under a tree. “Rin…” he said softly. “I’m so sorry Lord Sesshomaru!” “It’s all right Rin. I forgive you.” “Really?” she said looking in to his eyes.

“Yes, but don’t take things without permission again.” “Yes my Lord!” she said smiling. “The two of them headed back to where Jaken and Ah-Un were.” “Let’s be off.” “Yes, my Lord” said Jaken. He gave Rin an annoyed look.

“Come, Rin.” said Sesshomaru quietly. “Coming!” she squealed. The travelers once again continue their trip!
