Telling-Off
Lucius glowered down at his unrepentant son and the fiery redheaded girl he’d just been caught snogging, arms crossed. It had been bad enough that Draco had been caught kissing a girl when he was supposed to be discussing business with his father. What was much worse was that that girl was a Weasley. Ginevra Weasley, of all people!
“Draco,” he said icily, “I don’t suppose I have to tell you how disappointed I am in you.”
“Actually, you don’t,” drawled Draco. Lucius blinked, a bit surprised as his son mirrored his pose, arms crossed, staring eye-to-eye. Lucius blinked again. When had Draco gotten as tall as he was? “Father, if you look at the past year or so, in the rare times we’ve actually been together, you’ll see that I don’t give a flying rat’s arse for your opinion anymore.”
Lucius gaped openly. Since when had his son been so brazen? “Draco, don’t make me do something that I’ll regret. I think you’ll find-”
“Oh, put a sock in it,” Ginny cut him off, rolling her eyes, and taking her boyfriend’s hand she tugged him off. Draco shut the door behind them, leaving Lucius in semi-darkness.
In the silence following, Lucius got over the initial shock of being talked back to like that. His glare had been known to knock older people than herself down a few notches- so why hadn’t she faltered? In spite of himself, a slow smile/smirk came over his face.
She would go far.
