She plucked a string and the sound reverberated throughout the small and empty room. White. Painfully so. She'd change that soon enough. She plucked another string, another and another, until in sequence the individual sounds became an intricate melody only meant for her. Only her.

And Lucinda sat in the empty room, breathless and amazed. It was wonderful, she told Yvonne in French. Wonderful and amazing. Incredible and beautiful. She was so very talented, oh yes. Would she do it again?

Yvonne smiled and plucked the strings of the harp once more, all too pleased to oblige.
