A/N: I hope you guys enjoyed last chapter! It begins a series of parts of the secret Adam is keeping from all of them. This chapter is going to have another part. If you pay attention to all of the parts, you will find out what the secret is. By the end of this story, you’ll know what the secret is and the big suspense part of whether or not Jesse and Tori will be together. Also, this chapter has a Brennan/Shalimar part in it. So keep reading and don’t forget to review! Any questions or comments will help me with my story.

Brigitta1: I didn’t understand your question very well. I’m wondering if you meant if Tori’s powers does have an effect on Jesse. And if that’s what you meant, then no. Her powers has no effect on Jesse except for when she reads his mind. To her, his mind is an open book and when he thinks too much, she gets headaches from it. If that’s not what you meant, then maybe you can explain it better to me. Also, thanks for reviewing my story! I’m hope I hear from you more as this story continues to grow.

Chapter 3: A Memory Worth a 1000 Questions

Ever since she read Melanie’s mind, Tori hasn’t been able to get that thought out of her mind. What did Adam have to do with this? The thought kept crossing her mind and all she wanted was to know why. Then, a knock on the door woke her from her thinking state.

“Who is it?” asked Tori.

“It’s Shalimar. I need your help with something.” said Shalimar.

“Come in. What is it you need help with?” asked Tori.

“Well, Brennan and I are supposed to have dinner tonight. I was hoping if you could help me pick out the music and maybe cook dinner. I heard you were a good cook.” said Shalimar.

“Shal, I would love to help you and I think I have to perfect song for you and Brennan to listen to and dance to.” said Tori as she headed over to her CD collection. “Here, Lifehouse’s song ‘You and Me’ is perfect for tonight. I’ll also make Chicken Parmesan for dinner. I make a fantastic dinner. Just make sure you eat it before it gets cold.”

“Don’t worry, I think we’ll eat it before it gets cold.” said Shalimar. “Thanks again Tori. You’re a lifesaver. Make sure dinner is ready before 7:30 tonight.”

“Will do, Shal! Will do.” said Tori just as Jesse entered the room.

“So I’m hearing you’re helping Shal with her dinner with Brennan. I hope we get to spend sometime together tonight, Tori.” said Jesse with a smile.

“We’ll see Jess. You might just get what you wish for.” said Tori smiling.

“So we are going to the club and we’ll eat dinner there and let Shal and Bren spend all night together.” said Jesse.

“Sounds like a plan. I like it.” said Tori.

Later that night, Tori was in the kitchen finishing up the Chicken Parmesan she was making for Brennan and Shalimar. When she was done, she placed the dinner on the table where Shalimar had lit candles and placed red wine in an ice bucket. Then, she saw Jesse and Lexa walking by and motioned her to come on. All three of them left and headed to the club. When they got there, they got seats right away and order dinner. Back at Sanctuary, Shalimar blindfolded Brennan so he wouldn’t see dinner set out for him. When she pulled the blindfold off, Brennan couldn’t believe Shalimar did all this for him. He knew that she couldn’t cook very well and guessed that Tori cooked.

“Shal, you’re unbelievable. Thank you for doing this. At least I didn’t have to do all this.” said Brennan.

“Good, because I want you to sit here while I start the music. Tori told me this was a perfect song to listen to.” said Shalimar as she put in the CD.

The song began playing as soon as Shalimar sat down and the two of them just look at each other.

“Tori’s right, this song is perfect. I like it a lot.” said Shalimar.

“Me too. Wanna dance?” asked Brennan.

“Sure.” said Shalimar as she took his hand.

They began dancing while the song kept playing. The moment was absolutely perfect and Brennan leaned down to kiss Shalimar. Love was in the air at that very moment.

all of the things that I want to say –

At the club, the same song was playing. Jesse looked over at Tori and saw how beautiful she really was. He asked her to the dance and she agreed to dance with him. As they danced, they both felt the butterflies in their stomach. That’s the way they both felt the first time they danced together. The memory of them first dancing together played in their heads as the song was beginning to end. It was the same memory when they kissed the first time. Jesse leaned in and kissed Tori. Feeling her lips and kiss made the moment feel even better. They both fell in love again. They kissed while the song ended.

The next day, they all were tired. Brennan and Shalimar slept in Brennan’s room last night. They both made love under the stars and woke up felling the same way they did the other night. Jesse was asleep in his bed and Tori was asleep in her bed dreaming about the night before and Jesse. Lexa was wide awake in her bed wondering why she had no romance in her life. When Tori woke up, another thought entered her mind. In it was Adam and her mom. Adam was holding her in his arms smiling down at her while her mother smiled at Adam with tears falling down from her eyes. It made Tori even more confused. She knew it had to be from Adam but why was he thinking about it that moment. He was the only one with the answer.

“Hey Tori, you awake?” asked Jesse.

“Yeah, I just had another thought read from someone’s mind.” said Tori.

“Well, what was it about?” asked Jesse.

“It was about Adam holding me and smiling down at me while my mother was smiling at Adam and crying at the same time.” said Tori.

“I wonder why someone would think about that and have you read it at the same time.” said Jesse.

“Unless, that person is Adam. I think he’s the one hiding something from us. But I don’t know what it is.” said Tori.

“I’m guessing the only way we would ever find out is if we ask Adam.” said Jesse.

“That’s the only thing I don’t want to do. Ask Adam. He’ll never tell us and I don’t want to make him, Jess. He’ll know that I was reading his mind and then he’ll never speak to me again.” said Tori.

“Tori, we’ll find out what’s going on and why you are getting these thoughts from Adam. Don’t worry, I’ll help you and maybe everything will make sense.” said Jesse.

“Thanks Jess, you are a lifesaver.” said Tori as she leaned in to kiss Jesse.

The next piece was put into the puzzle of the mysterious secret Adam is keeping from everybody and so far nothing made any sense. Tori and Jesse were on the verge of making things worse or better for them and Brennan, Shalimar, and Lexa. The answer was coming and the next piece of the puzzle was just one step away from them. Only problem is that Adam is the one giving out the clues and if he doesn’t send out the next clue, what will become of this mystery that keeps Tori wondering about her past...
