A/N: Ok this is the first time I’m writing with this new style thing so if the story is completely obvious its because I’m new to writing this way. Hmm hope it turns out ok. Oh and its set after Outlaws.

He had been awoken by the sounds of Jack and Charlie screaming at each other. He straightaway noticed that he was in the caves and Kate was lying down a few feet away from him. He wasn’t that sure why until he noticed the bandage wrapped around her ankle guessing he must have been in the medical cave. As he tried to get up he felt an intense amount of pain coming from his stomach, he swore under his breath as he leaned back and listened to the fight.

“He saved me and he saved Kate Jack, and you won’t help him!” Charlie screamed as Sawyer slowly began remember the events leading up to that very moment.

“It doesn’t change what he did!” Jack shouted.

“You weren’t there Jack, he did what he had too” Charlie defended him. Sawyer guessed they weren’t going to go into details of what happened, they doubted anyone would believe them. “Maybe you need to consider the part of all this that is your fault” Sawyer hadn’t expected that at all.

“Your awake” He heard her voice say softly, he smiled the fight became less interesting as he turned to her.

“Freckles” He was shocked at how much it hurt to talk.

“What are they fighting about now?” Kate asked shaking her head as she sat up.

“Me” Sawyer shrugged. He tried to get up but let out a short cry of pain as he fell back once again.

“Uh you really shouldn’t move” Kate said sounding worried. “You almost died Sawyer” A look of complete confusion became clear on Sawyers face she was about to ask when they heard footsteps.

“Your awake” The voice of the last person he wanted to see said.

“Well doc here to fix me up now?” Sawyer said with a grin trying to push back his anger and confusion.

“Sawyer!” Kate called as she made her way over to him.

“Got a new home for you freckles” Sawyer said with a smug smile as he packed his things into a his bag.

“Your just going to leave” Kate asked him.

“Doc didn’t leave me much of a choice now did he?” He asked her. “You’re the one person I’ll miss freckles”

“Don’t let them force you out” She began.

“If I ever come back and anyone but you is using this place I won’t be happy” Sawyer began as he zipped his bag and began walking into the jungle.

“Don’t leave, its dangerous” Kate began as she followed Sawyer.

“More worried about how dangerous it is back there” Sawyer told her.

“Just tell them Sawyer” She began.

“Not afraid of what they’ll do Kate” He said simply giving her a meaningful look, she understood. “Self control never been my strong point” He finished “And I don’t need another death on my head”

Kate just nodded, she understood completely then. She knew what is why like to loose yourself to anger and knew he had to leave to deal with that. That didn’t stop her though. Minus the blood he looked just like he did when they kissed. The look in his eyes and the expression on his face was there once again. So she kissed him. It was nothing like the first kiss. It was soft, gentle, almost innocent but it didn’t mean the kiss wasn’t absolutely amazing.

“I have to go” He told as if he thought the kiss was to make him stay.

“I know” Kate nodded “But now you have a reason to come back” She said with a smile. “Be careful ok” She said before heading back to the beach.
