Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha, nor will I ever, Rumiko Takahashi does.
Shippo: CASUI IS SORRY!
Casui: I can say it on my own, thank you. (pushes out of way) I’M SO SORRY!
Shippo: What was the point of that?
Casui: Shut up.
Kamiko: Ignore her, I think she’s drunk from drinking wine on Christmas.
Shippo:…Christmas?…
Casui: That’s not true! Christmas was like a month ago. And I didn’t have wine!
Kamiko and Shippo: Suuure you didn’t.
Casui: (glares) Whatever. Anyway, I’m really sorry that I didn’t update as soon as I usually do.
Shippo: Yeah, she was supposed to update around Christmas…but eh…
Kamiko: She had some family issues that no one needs to know about.
Casui: You didn’t have to be so rude! But yeah, something very important came up. Plus, killer migraines happening to me!
Kamiko: In other words, she’s sorry.
Shippo: So pleasezy accept her apology!
Casui: Tch’ you make me sound so needy.
Kamiko and Shippo: BECAUSE YOU ARE!
Casui: -- Shut up, no one asked you. XD.
Shippo: Now you know she’s sorry.
Everyone: ENJOY THE FIC! HOPE YOU HAD A HAPPY HOLIDAY! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Casui: And if you don’t celebrate, don’t sue me, please! It’s hard to update with people suing me!
Seriously, I had some very important ‘issues’ that happened. Sorry it took so long to update, besides the incidents and school- I guess I didn’t update because of well…pure laziness (sweat drop) I hope you’ll guys forgive me after you read this chapter. BTW, if some of the characters seem OOC, forgive for that too, please!
MONKO
A girl with her hair out and down her back watched a purple-robed monk purify a grave. Her heart pounded when everyone left but a certain half-demon. Her bangs covered her eyes ‘He still loves her…After everything we’ve been through…he still has feelings for her.’.
Though she assuredly felt like it, the girl didn’t cry. She walked right up to him and kneeled down by the grave. The half demon was surprised and startled at her sudden appearance and immediately looked away when their gazes met.
The girl stared at the grave, long and hard. She felt like half of herself was gone. They did share the same soul. But did it really matter anymore, she was dead. But what she wanted to know, was: who she was to Inuyasha. Even though she already knew… She sighed; recalling the deadly incident from before.
MONKO
(Flashback)
A smile crossed her face as she walked over to the kneeling hanyou and the dead miko who shared her soul. “Now Inuyasha, you don’t have to worry about her. You can use the Shikkon Jewel to become human and-” she was cut off by two dark red eyes glaring at her with intensity.
“You killed Kagome.”
“Does it matter that much to you Inuyasha? Did you really think I would not do anything if anyone especially my incarnation, get in the way of our relationship-” Kikyo said, her voice in usual monotone. Inuyasha acted as if he didn’t even hear her, his ears didn’t even twitch. He let his bangs cover his blood-shot, teary eyes.
“You killed Kagome” he repeated, his voice becoming demonic.
Kikyo sighed, as if it was all no big deal. “Do you really care more for her than me, Inuyasha?” In his mind, Inuyasha could hear his conscience screaming at the top of it’s lungs “YES! YES I DO!”. While Inuyasha was thinking this, he didn’t even notice the dead miko approaching him and beginning to wrap her arms around his body.
“YOU KILLED KAG-” he was cut off by two freezing lips being pressed against his. Inuyasha’s nose scrunched up as if he smelled something foul. For some reason, the kiss tasted bitter. It was cold, demanding and was everything but gentle. It pushed harder wanting access but Inuyasha refused.
Kisses from her were useless now, the only kiss he’d ever accept from anyone would be from- Kagome. Kagome… He could feel his heart beat beating through his body and his eyes becoming redder. He felt his pupils sliding slowly into slits and felt his claws flexing. Inuyasha couldn’t stop it…he knew he couldn’t stop it. The only person that could stop it was…
‘Kagome’ and she was-
-B-Bmp-
She was-
-B-bmp!-
She was…
-B-BMP!-
Dead.
That was it. He lost it. All of his control, his head snapped up making his bangs fall to the side. “Inu-Inuyasha?” Kikyo’s monotone voice went to a frightened one. Inuyasha started to yell in his mind, for some reason he couldn’t control himself. Usually when this had happened, he wouldn’t even remember anything. It would’ve been like he wasn’t even there.
But not this time, he was there. To see it all. And there was nothing that could stop him.
‘INUYASHA SIT!’
Suddenly Inuyasha felt his pupils turn circular again and the redness of his eyes was now it‘s usual amber. All of a sudden his world came crashing down…literally.
THUD!
“WHAT’D YOU DO THAT FOR-” Inuyasha stopped. ‘WTF!’ Ok, things were beginning to get scary. (OK this next format is from All-American-Girl by Meg Cabot- don’t own and great book! )
Top 10 things that were making this the most scariest day of Inuyasha’s whole life:
1. Kikyo was getting all angry and PMS.
2. Kikyo almost kills him.
3. Kikyo kills Kagome instead of killing him. Which either way isn’t good.
4. Because of her death, he lost control of his demonic powers. This is truly scary since his powers are unstable and very dangerous.
5. He could remember being in his demon form which he couldn’t do before, ever.
6. No one, and I mean NO ONE could stop him. Especially now that Kagome was dead.
7. He was about to kill his ex-girlfriend for killing another girl which actually might have been his next girlfriend. This of course makes the situation worse (Yeah, duh). Plus it’s a confusing tongue twister (Say the 1st sentence 5 times fast!).
8. His power stopped out of the blue. And the reason it did was even scarier than the others.
9. It stopped ‘cause he got “sat”. And he had never, ever been more happy to get ‘sat’ in his whole life! (Besides the time Sango got drunk…)
And the top reason that made this day the scariest of Inuyasha’s whole life was:
10. Kagome just might be alive.
MONKO
“I know you loved her Inuyasha.” the girl admitted, catching the hanyou’s attention. “Can you tell me though if……your alright with what happened yesterday!” she had said it. It was something she needed to know, otherwise she wouldn’t be able to move on. But she felt that she knew the answer and that it could kill her more painful than any demon.
Inuyasha finally looked straight in the girl’s eyes. He crouched down, a frown occupying his face. It was silent for a while, he was brushing her bangs out of her face. The girl was crying silently now. A few ruffled bangs over her eyes so that he wouldn’t see. But, he knew very well that she was doing…Very well.
It was another few minutes before he opened his mouth to speak. This worried her, it wasn’t like him to be quiet this long. Too much like Ssheshomaru for her liking. Her heart was about to pound out of her chest at this rate, she felt it stop for a second when he pulled her in close.
“I-”
MONKO
Kamiko and Shippo had finally come back to the hut. Their arms holding the rescued bags from the fallen Karaoke Hut. Giving a silent nod to acknowledge their arrival, Miroku stared out the door. It had been silent like this for a long time. Ever since the storm had dispersed yesterday.
He sighed. Sango had still not returned from yesterday’s ‘incident’. If she ever did return from her ‘run-off’ she’d probably never speak to him again anyway. Another sigh, deeper this time.
“Where’s Sango?” asked Kamiko, knowing she was supposed to be in the hut. Miroku shot her a glare, but it eased when he remembered she was under the spell. Shippo tried to hush her while giving apologetic glances to Miroku.
“I don’t know.” he answered honestly “But I do know that she won’t be back for a while.”. Kamiko shot him a suspicious look and challenged him “Why?”. His heart felt like something had stricken him, so much pain. He gave a final sigh and began to tell his tale.
MONKO
(Miroku’s Flashback)
Miroku smiled as he snored, dreaming of Sango in his perverted ways. Soon he heard another snore, echoing his own not too far from him. ‘What?’ he slowly blinked his eyes open, feeling a heart beat on his chest that wasn’t his own.
He sat up, but he was stopped by a heavy weight laying him down. He looked down and gasped, his eyes the size of saucers. ‘Oh God- I didn’t…We didn’t- OH GOD! PLEASE DON’T TELL ME IT WASN’T A DREAM!’ there laying in his lap was a very naked Sango, snoring away peacefully.
He heard Sango murmur something, at first he thought she was waking up but she was asleep and was saying…was he dreaming? ‘She said my name…’ Miroku blinked in disbelief then gasped, noticing that like Sango, he was also clothe less.
He stood up frantically, first putting Sango off him and onto the floor, gently. ‘Great! When she wakes up a boomerang to the head is the least of my worries- in fact death is probably the least she can do to me!’ he thought in panic as he pulled on his robe.
‘How can I be so selfish! What if she gets- what if her child has the wind tunnel…She’d never forgive me for that…as if she’d forgive me for this! Why didn’t I stop her!’ a voice inside answered his question right away ‘Because she’s hot’.
He glared at the wall of the cave, as if it was the one talking to him. ‘Yes, but she’s Sango. She’s my friend.’ ‘So were all the other girls you did.’ Miroku’s conscience was winning the battle here and Miroku didn’t like it.
‘No, Sango is different, you should know that’
‘Don’t you think you mean you should know that’
Miroku considered this and shook his head.
‘I do, obviously. But we have to defeat Naraku before I do anything about her.’
‘So does that mean your going to leave her here until you defeat Naraku?’
‘No. You know what I mean.’
‘If I did, don’t you think I would of said so, baka!’
‘Who are you Inuyasha? Or my Conscience?’
‘Changing the subject already bouzu?’
‘The insult wasn’t necessary. Now about Sango I-’
His conversation between his thoughts was interrupted from a moan at his feet. Miroku looked down to see Sango still sleeping, curled up as if she was a cat. ‘What am I supposed to do with her?’ ‘Well not ‘do’ her, since you’ve already taken care of that’ ‘Shut up’.
He heard a part of his mind growl in anger, arguing that he should think this over more but Miroku already had Sango’s clothes in his hands. Carefully trying not to grope her, he placed on Sango’s clothes- closing his eyes in the process… “I’m not looking…I’m enough trouble already! I’m not looking…”.
Miroku opened his eyes and sighed, she was still asleep. He sighed, wiping seat off his brow “Phew! Thought she was going to wake up!” “Huh! What!”. Sango looked up to see Miroku, not to far away from her face and he seemed to be buttoning or unbuttoning her shirt. (I know her kimono has no buttons but PRETEND!).
“YOU HENTAI!”
-And that time, Sango had every right to hit Miroku- but he really deserved MUCH worse; In his opinion that is.
MONKO
There was a sudden pause in his story when Shippo interrupted. “So that’s where you were, no wonder no one
Was at the hut when I went there.”. Shippo smiled, telling his shortened tale of no one being at the hut. Miroku though, wasn’t listening and was busy thinking of Sango…
MONKO
(Shippo’s flashback)
Shippo blinked his bluish green eyes in exhaustion. “Ouch,” he put a hand on his forehead “It feels like Inuyasha bunked me on the head-”. Shippo froze in his sentence, noticing the gigantic hole in the wall, it was even later at night then it was before, they weren’t in a battle, and most importantly- he was alone.
“Uhh… Hello Anyone?” he stood, walking over to the hole in the wall and stepping out into the silent, cricket-chirping night. “Kamiko? Sango? Miroku?” he paused looking around him “Kagome! INUYASHA!”. His screams echoed out into the night as he quaked in fear. Suddenly, he felt something gentle touch his shoulder, the hair on his neck rose up and his goose bumps began popping out. He jumped as he felt the same texture on his other shoulder.
Shippo slowly rotated his head to look at what touched him, there on his shoulder was a hand. A warm hand with the palest blue painted with a nice design on the fingernails. He smiled, his face instantly lighted up in joy and he turned. But his smile faded away as he looked up at the person. There stood his very own sister, Kamiko…the only difference was he eyes were flashing red- almost like Inuyasha’s when he turned full demon.
Shippo knew he shouldn’t curse. He knew very well that if he did and his sister found out he’d be a dead fur ball. But, in this case, Shippo just couldn’t help and utter the small curse that slipped out. “Oh shit”.
MONKO
(Continuing with Miroku’s flashback into Shippo’s)
Sango and Miroku walked in silence down the path leading to Kaede’s village. Sango shot an angry glare at Miroku. Instead of his usual charming, innocent grin Miroku just glanced at her and then back the other way. Her expression softened, her eyes worried ‘Was that-…Was that fear in his eyes?’.
Miroku jumped as he felt a warm hand land on his right shoulder. “Are you alright, Miroku?” he felt sweat on his brow, “I’m just worried about Lady Kamiko and Shippo, they were knocked out. Plus, Kamiko got-”. He shut his mouth. He had almost said that Kamiko had gotten hypnotized. If Sango found out about the song and what happened…Man, he didn’t even want to imagine it.
Sango raised an eyebrow “Since Kamiko got what?”. “Kamiko’s got to…umm….Bare my child! She needs to be in good condition.” it probably wasn’t the best explanation, in fact it was probably the WORST. But, it was all Miroku could think of at the moment.
Sango’s eye twitched, she hit him in the head. “You really are a perverted monk.” she walked ahead of him, making sure that he wouldn’t ‘make-a-move’ on her. Miroku sighed, rubbing the new red bump on his head. “I deserved that…” he murmured. Sango, hearing this, eyes widened. “What’d you say?”.
Miroku’s sweat dropped “I said- did I really deserve that?”. Sango’s face fell, the hope in her eyes turned to sadness and Miroku saw it. “Yes” she said, turning to face the other way, Miroku sighed. He was being the thing he had wished all his life, even as a mere child to never be… ‘A jerk’…(Or an Inuyasha- lol, joking)
Sango and Miroku walked on, not saying a word to each other. Finally, after a full ten minutes they made it to where their Karaoke hut was…Or where it used to be.
“Huh? The hut! It‘s-”
“Gone” Miroku said, stepping forward into the rubble. Beneath the two teammates were the remains of their Karaoke hut. In the mess, Shippo was no where to be found. They looked at each other, the same worried and serious expression on their faces.
Questions and statements started popping up in their heads, such as “Where’s Shippo?” and “Where’s Kamiko?” . But all these thoughts were answered when they heard a scream echo in the air.
A blur of black and brown came flying in front of them, the brown blur finally stopped about a yard from them. The blur, Shippo’s own little tail. He looked exhausted and completely beat up, beside him the other blur had stopped as well. The black blur being Kamiko’s hair.
“Shippo!”
“Lady Kamiko!”
They started to run towards them when Miroku began to feel a strange aura. Sango of course felt it too, but had no idea where it was coming from and was too busy trying to get to her friend. “Sango” She turned around, seeing Miroku holding her arm back. “What?”
He stepped in front of her, his staff at a battle-ready position. “She’s possessed by Naraku.” “Naraku?” Miroku nodded, confirming it. “Damn!” Sango cursed, she didn’t have her harikoutsu, she could barely do anything. All she had were the small knife-like-swords on her demon-slayer-outfit-gloves. There was no way that those puny weapons would be enough to defend her. But it would have to.
“Sango, take Shippo and run! Find Lady Kagome and Inuyasha!” Miroku ordered. Sango just blinked at him, “You can’t just stay here on your own!” he ignored her and took out a Sacred Sutra. A sutra? That’s all he had! A freaking sutra, she had better armor and weapons than he did! And he knew so! But then, why was he- was he- putting his life in jeopardy ‘-For me’ concluded her thoughts.
This question had come up so many times before in her mind, for some reason she felt she knew the answer inside. He had told her it twice, maybe even three times.
That he had loved her.
MONKO
(Somewhere in a nearby forest)
“Heh. Yeah right.” Sango huffed, blowing her bangs up in the air. She let the stream run through her hands as she thought of the memory that had just played before her eyes. Would she ever go back to them? She’d have too, her weapons were there and Kirara. Maybe she’d return to collect those things and leave to find and free Kohaku.
But what about Miroku?
She glared at her reflection. How dare she think of that monk! After what he had done, he could burn in- Ok, let’s not go that far. Sango lifted the hem of her skirt up to her knees and let her feet dangle in the water.
She let her thoughts drift to Kagome. Where had she gone? Inuyasha too had been missing, after that horrific battle he had gone after her…But they had yet to return… She glanced upwards towards the sky, an orangey sun sat, half-dipped in the ocean. Sunset already? It was getting late wasn’t it…
A slight breeze teased her hair, blowing it back and forth. Everything was so calm here, no one but her to care about…She glared at the sun, how could she only stay caring for herself! There was Kagome and Inuyasha who were missing, Kohaku who was under Naraku’s spell, Shippo and Kamiko, in danger by just being around the Sacred Septor or the rest of the group, and of course Hoshi-sama… Hentai-bozu, she meant.
She sighed, listening to another memory being triggered from his name. Being busy with these thoughts, she of course didn’t hear the footsteps come up behind her and by the time she did they had already grabbed her from behind.
MONKO
(This is pretty much continuing what the last flashback had)
…But for some reason; maybe it was the groping, maybe the way she had a jealous rage over him, maybe even the way he had the mischievous gleam in his eye, the answer always seemed false.
Suddenly a sharp pain hit Sango’s arm, a crimson liquid became visual on her kimono. “Sango!” Miroku turned to face her and a certain half-demon whom was now admiring her blood-covered fingernails. Damn! He had let her get hurt again! At least it wasn’t from himself this time…Miroku put himself in front of Sango as Kamiko’s eyes flashed blue- then back to red.
Kamiko had a wide grin planted on her face, Vampire-spiky teeth poking out from her gums. “Protecting her now, are we monk? Shouldn’t you have done that before? Oh right, you were having too much pleasure to care.” Naraku spoke through Kamiko’s body.
“Pleasure?” questioned Sango, Miroku felt the hair on his back rise all the way up. Seeing the monk’s worried look in his eyes and beads of sweat rolling down his face, Kamiko smiled.
“Yes. It seems the young monk ‘had his way’ with you when you were hypnotized into seducing him.” Kamiko replied, a famous Naraku-smirk on her face. Sango now looked at Miroku as if something was wrong with him, she backed away a step.
“Miroku…” her voice wavered in the air, “that’s-- that’s not true… I-Is it?”. Miroku couldn’t lie to her anymore he just couldn’t. But,…why did it all have to come out this way? He was know hanging his head in shame, making Sango fully believe Naraku’s words.
Sango had tears in her eyes, she punched Miroku straight in the gut. He had fallen. When he returned to his feet she put her hands on his shoulders and let him look at her. Her bangs covered her teary eyes “Sango…”. He became lost for words when she looked up at him, tears falling freely down her face.
“You- Y-y-you! Y-you,...you- you!” She couldn’t find the words for her feelings. She took one last look at him and wiped her eyes with his robe. From there, she took off, abandoning her friends as she ran through the damp forest. Tears stinging her eyes…
MONKO
The room fell silent. There was no sound for what seemed like an eternity. “…How did you free me from my spell?” Shippo blinked at her while Miroku smirked. He didn’t know exactly what happened but Inuyasha would fill in more details he was sure… “I remember your septor begin to change colors and some music filling the air… something happened then and you fainted, afterwards we brought you back here…”
MONKO
“I-”
She had made herself stop crying, she looked into his eyes. Her reflection frowned back at her in his amber orbs.
Inuyasha stared back at her, he didn’t know what to say…What could he say? I mean, the accident was………
MONKO
Inuyasha stood weakly, while Kikyo glared with hatred at The Tree. The Tree was glowing a mystical white light, it was omitting spiritual power that was like something Kikyo had never seen. Suddenly a smirk crossed her features. “A spiritual heart’s power, reacting simply because she loves you.”.
Inuyasha glared at her, walking toward the tree. Suddenly a wing sprouted out of the tree’s trunk followed by another wing on the opposite side. The wings identical and a brilliant light blue color they began to flap causing a powerful wing to start course.
“Kagome!”
Inuyasha’s voice was lost in the wind, there was no way she’d be able to hear it… Even if she truly is alive. The ground began to shake, Kikyo walked towards the tree, a white orb glowing half-in-half-out of her body.
He stared at the scene, how could Kikyo be so calm about it! Well then,…Kikyo was always calm about everything…but still…
Inuyasha ran after her as her body soaked into the tree. Even though he had his hanyou speed, it was too late when he got there. Kikyo and Kagome’s souls were gone. The ground began to shake violently, the rain continued to pour down on the scene.
Suddenly out of the tree, the two wings flew upwards, dispatching themselves from the tree. Two graceful souls flew out along with the tree, both looking similar to each other, but Inuyasha could tell the difference. Each of the souls had their own separate pair of wings and soared like bits on sunshine through rain.
“Kagome…”
With the whisper from his lips, Inuyasha watched as they both turned to face him. None of them answering his quiet call, they swooped down as the sky and stood in front of him. They stood that way for a while as the sky began to change it’s color as it followed the beat of the rain.
MONKO
Back where Miroku, Kamiko, and Shippo were…
Kamiko glared at her septor as her eyes began to flash blue. Naraku smirked in his castle, watching the events happen through Kamiko’s vision. “The demon slayer-girl is already in my possession…I’ll just let her destroy herself.”, with that, Naraku let go of his control.
Kamiko’s eyes turned full blue as the closed, her body falling to the ground.
“Sister!”
Shippo rushed to her side, though Miroku stayed as he was. He was too busy staring at the blank space where Sango had been standing. Inside, he honestly wished that his wind tunnel would swallow him this way he could die right there on the spot.
Shippo shook his sister and begged her unconscious body to get up. He looked her up and down until he saw the septor. It was vibrating and flashing unbelievable colors, the sky following it’s pattern. Inside, it was beating a rhythm that the rain was repeating as it played…
He reached for it in curiosity. It, just as he got near it, it flew upwards out of Kamiko’s belt loop and towards the sky…
MONKO
A white angelic hand reached out, rain falling through it’s form. It grabbed Inuyasha’s hand. This spirit was definitely Kikyo. She was grabbing his upwards and flying towards the colorful clouds. The other spirit flew next to Inuyasha, her bangs covering her eyes but secretly watching.
“Inuyasha!”
Inuyasha turned his head towards the spirit. “Kagome…Kagome!” Kikyo smirked at the two, flying faster. “Inuyasha!” Kagome made one last call before being forced upwards into the clouds.
“Kagome!” Inuyasha called as Kikyo laughed bitterly. He glared at her “What’ve you done to Kagome!”, Kikyo didn’t answer as they followed Kagome into the clouds. Finally letting Inuyasha go, he landed on the cloud’s lining, not falling through.
“What the- Kikyo, where the hell are we!”
Kikyo’s bangs covered her eyes as she smirked “This is the Spirit Lining, the gateway between the Spirit World and Earth. This is also a place where Shinigami come through and where you will be making your decision.” (Note: Shinigami means Death God(s) in Japanese, for all that don’t know).
“My- my what? What the hell are you talking about!”
Inuyasha shouted, staring at the scene of colored clouds and spirits. “You will choose,” Kikyo began, finally looking up at him “who you love more.”. With that, Kamiko’s septor zoomed through the clouds below, startling everyone but Kikyo. As if it was planned, Kikyo caught it.
“Each of us will have a chance” her voice was emotionless once again and she was talking to Kagome. Suddenly, the wings disappeared from both Kikyo and Kagome’s backs. The clouds suddenly stopped changing and returned to their original color for just a second, that was when Kikyo pressed down on the orb.
Kagome’s eyes seemed to fade at the moment, a smooth music began to pump from the septor. Kagome walked over to Inuyasha, her bangs finally falling to the side to reveal her face. The music started to go faster, a drum suddenly picking up the beat, Kagome nodded her head a bit before beginning her song.
Reason by Cascada
There’s something in your eyes,
I know I can't resist.
Something in the air,
I don’t know why
You were hardly there when I was on my own
There's something about you that makes me cry
Kagome looked up to him, in the eyes. He could see so much hurt in hers, but then again there were other emotions… Confusion, protection, and…something else Inuyasha just couldn’t put his finger on…
A beat began to follow Kagome’s words, pumping all the hearts of the people listening to it with it’s beat.
“Can I believe that your heart still beats for me?
Let me receive,
a sign that your my destiny
I wanna know
Give me a reason for me to believe in,
can't you see in my eyes?
But I need a reason,
for I am still grieving
Is it time to say goodbye?
'Cause deep in my heart I know there's a reason
why I am not leaving,
why I’m not alone
So give me a reason for me to believe in,
give me a reason”
There was a sudden pause, the beat began to speed up again. An instrumental played through the air as memories began to spin through Inuyasha’s head. ‘The time Kagome was holding Naraku’s new incarnation and fainted, when I had left her to go find Kikyo…is that what she meant by “alone”?’.
Suddenly, the instrumental ended and a slow beat began to return, following Kagome’s words as she sang.
There's something in your eyes I know
I can't resist.
Something in the air,
I don't know why…
Then the music began to speed with Kagome’s heartbeat.
“Can I believe that your heart still beats for me?
Let me receive a sign that your my destiny.
“What sign, Kagome? Why?” he looked at her, she obviously could hear his thoughts because she took him into her embrace. Squeezing his kimono in her hands. Looking upwards and into his eyes, Inuyasha saw tears beginning to fall. Then she began to sing again, answering only his second question.
“I wanna know.
Give me a reason for me to believe in,
can't you see it in my eyes!
Inuyasha stared at her, for the first time, maybe ever he could really see what it in her eyes. Not from her crying, not even from her song but just because she was………Well, Kagome.
That I need a reason for I'm still breathing
Is it time to say goodbye?
'Cause deep in my heart I know there's a reason
why I am not leaving,
why I'm not alone.
So give me a reason for me to believe it,
give me a reason
The beat continued then, flowing into a second and last instrumental, cueing the end of the song. “I’ll never leave you alone, Kagome…” he wrapped his arms around her in return and held her there until the music stopped.
Kikyo sneered at the delightful couple, scowling at her incarnation with hatred. “Inuyasha…why do you treat her such a way. You will only hurt her in the end. You do know that you have to choose the one you love and the other,…shall die.”.
Inuyasha’s bangs covered her eyes, he pulled away from Kagome. “Have you really changed so much, Kikyo? SO much, that you’d be that desperate to send me to hell with you!” Kikyo smirked, she figured he’d say something like that. “So what, will you choose her only because you fear that you will return to me in hell and not be able to become a full-fledged demon?”.
Inuyasha didn’t reply. He was glaring at her through his silver strands of hair. Kagome on the other hand seemed to have been pushed aside, hoping that Inuyasha would be happy with his choice no matter who he chose. ‘If he chooses Kikyo,…at least I’ll never have to see him again’ she thought as a tear rolled down her cheek.
Kikyo’s smirk grew “So then Inuyasha, why don’t you confess to your love and get rid of those obsolete.”.
Inuyasha’s claws flexed, he felt like tearing something apart right now, not caring if it was going to be Kikyo or not. But he had to keep calm, lives were on the line here and he had to take special care of the one he loved…
“You have to choose now Inuyasha, this way the other can die in hell!” Kikyo shouted at him “It’s easy, Inuyasha. Choose the one you’d rather live.”.
Silence clouded the scene though Inuyasha’s head buzzed with noise.
‘Let me receive, a sign that your my destiny’
A sign…What sign? Could this be it, the sign that she sung of? But,…what of… That’s when Inuyasha finally knew for the first time in his life a surely of what he wanted.
“I LOVE KAGOME!”
MONKO
(In present day…)
Inuyasha grabbed Kagome tighter.
“Idiot!”
Kagome glared at his kimono, from her position in hugging him. “How could I not mean it? I chose ya’ didn’t I!” Kagome’s eyes began to water, that wasn’t what she had meant.
Inuyasha looked at her in worry, smelling a strong scent of tears. He stroked her hair “Inuyasha your such a jerk!” he stopped. He let her lean up and look at him, a glare burned into his eyes. Her growl was heard as she began to say the word again and this time he couldn’t stop it.
“SIT BOY!”
Obviously, Kagome forgot the position she was in. With a painful impact, Inuyasha fell forward into the earth crashing on top of Kagome. Though it was a hard impact, Kagome seemed to be just fine, being used to it from the encounter with Souunga (I don’t know if that’s correct spelling but it’s from the 3rd movie).
Leaning up, from the painful encounter Inuyasha looked at Kagome. “You alright Kagome?” Weakly, leaning up, she nodded, her eyes half closed in pain. When she finally could open them fully she saw two amber eyes staring straight back at hers, closer than ever before.
MONKO
A sudden scream filled the air, Kamiko’s alert ears caught it first, followed by Miroku and Shippo. “That sounds like-” Shippo started, standing up “Sango.” Miroku finished for him.
