Whatever Happened to Sally-Anne Perks?
By Silver Sailor Ganymede

Hello. I don't suppose anyone will ever find this note, or know who I am if they do find it.

I am Sally-Anne Perks, or Annie, as most call me. I am, or rather I was, a Gryffindor. I'm fourteen and I've just finished my fourth, and final, year. Yes, I did say my final year. I'll be dead soon, you see. I'll be dead by the time anyone finds this.

I'm going to kill myself tonight. It'll be easy, just one killing curse and I'll be gone. My parents won't care; they're too preoccupied with my siblings to even remember that I'm alive.

I suppose I'd better explain about my family. My mother was a Hufflepuff and my father was a Hufflepuff, my older sister Carrie-May is a Hufflepuff, my twin brother Johnny is a Hufflepuff and my younger sister Laura-Jayne is- you guessed it- a Hufflepuff. Despite what you may think, being a Gryffindor in a family of Hufflepuffs is just as hard as it would be to be a Slytherin in a family of Gryffindors.

As for my house at school… well Seamus and Dean are friends, Neville is friends with the Hufflepuffs- typical-, Lavender and Parvati are joined at the hip and Harry, Ron and Hermione are inseparable. As for me, I've got no one; I just can't seem to make friends; people always expect me to act like a younger Carrie-May or an older Laura-Jayne, not at all like I really act.

So this is it; this is the end. And whenever anyone realises that I'm not there, they'll ask 'whatever happened to Sally-Anne Perks? Where has she gone?' They'll never twig that I'm dead. Most people don't even know that I'm there. I'm just unremarkable Annie. I'm just average height with fine red hair and grey eyes. I have an average personality too; no one else thinks I should even be a Gryffindor; I'm more of a Ravenclaw.

Yes indeed, 'Whatever happened to Sally-Anne?' Sally-Anne is dead, everyone, Sally-Anne is dead.
