Summary : "When is Mama home, Aunty Piper?" the beautiful little girl mumbled.

Piper sighed. "Mommy won't be coming back this time sweetie."

What would've happened if Prue had a daughter when she died? Better then it sounds, I swear

OK, it's slightly confusing, so let me explain the situation

Set just after 'All Hell Breaks Loose', and is if Prue and Andy had a daughter

However, Andy and Prue still died as normal

I'm sorry if some dates don't add up e.g. Andy's death and the age of the baby, but that's basically how the story goes

I tried to get it to work though, I really did.

OK, I think that covers it

Right on!

Oh yeah, I own nothing of Charmed or anything to do with it, etc.

Piper stared at the baby in her arms

Well, more like toddler

She was twenty five months old, and already an orphan

Over two years

Had her whole life ahead of her

And yet had no parents whatsoever

She'd never known her Dad

He died before she was born, she never got tomeet him

But her mother would describe him to her every single night

He was a cop, she knew that, and a very good man

He was her mother's first and last love

He was a great person

He would've been a devoted father too

But he never even lived long enough to find out about Prue's pregnancy

Prue

Now she was gone too

She was so beautiful, so powerful, so amazing

She was a great leader, a hard worker, and still a brilliant mother too

She always had time for little Melinda Patty, no matter what happened

And then Melinda

All alone in this world

Tears rolled down Piper's cheeks as she began to cry

"Prue, why aren't you here?" Piper whispered into the air.

But she didn't hear a reply

"How could you leave us, how could you leave your little girl?"

But still, the air was silent

Melinda began whimpering

"Where Mama?" she cried.

She'd been asking that over and over for the last week

"Mommy's gone to Heaven, baby," Piper replied, just as she had every other time.

But Melinda didn't believe it

And, to be truthful, Piper didn't really believe it either

How could Prue go to Heaven? That would make her dead

And she wasn't dead

People like Prue don't die young, it just doesn't happen

It doesn't

Piper held Melinda tighter, feeling the toddler's warmth against her own skin

She hadn't let little Mel go since Prue's death

Phoebe had tried to take her off Piper, but Piper just screamed

It was the last thing she had of Prue's. The last reminder that Prue was still here. Even though she was very much gone

"I'll never let you go, baby," Piper whispered, soothingly, into Melinda's ear. "I'll never let you go."

"Want Mama," Melinda demanded. "Want Mama. Where Mama? Want Mama."

More tears rolled down Piper's cheeks

What could she say to the baby?

That Mommy won't come when she cries anymore?

She knew that Mommy had gone to Heaven, but she didn't know that Mommy wouldn't be coming back

"When is Mama home, Aunty Piper?" the beautiful little girl mumbled.

Piper sighed. "Mommy won't be coming back this time sweetie."

Melinda didn't quite understand

And she wasn't old enough to know how to ask, "What do you mean?"

Instead, she acted like all toddlers do in trouble, and began crying

She wailed and wailed and wailed

"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" Melinda screamed. "MOMMY!"

"Be quiet, please," Piper begged.

She wasn't in the mood to quieten Prue's baby

She was so tired

She was so sad

Her eyes were sore from crying

"MOMMY!" Melinda shouted even harder.

"Prue isn't coming back! OK! She's gone!" Piper found herself scream at Melinda. "GET THAT INTO YOUR HEAD!"

Mel's eyes filled with tears, but she stayed silent

Piper sighed

"I'm so sorry baby, I'm so sorry," she apologized, wrapping her arms tightly around the small girl. "I'll always be here with you, I promise."

Melinda didn't argue this time, she just nestled into Piper's skin

Just like she used to nestle into her Mother's

Leo knocked on the door, and went into his and Piper's room

"Sweetie, we're going to go now," he said.

Piper didn't want to go

She'd gotten up, and dressed herself in her black, mourning dress

She'd then put Melinda into a little black dress too, ready for the funeral

But she didn't want to go

She wanted to stay at home, and wait for Prue to return

She'd wait forever if she could

If Prue would only come home

Piper ignored her husband, and just stayed holding Melinda tightly

"You ready to go?" Leo asked.

"What do you think?" Piper snapped.

"I loved her too, honey, and I'll be here for you, I will, I promise," Leo said. He walked over to Piper, and wrapped his arms around her.

"I know you'll be here for me," Piper replied. "But who'll be here for her?"

She glanced down at Melinda

"She doesn't have her mother any more, or her father, she's all by herself," Piper explained.

"She has you, and Phoebe, and me," Leo answered.

"That's not the same as her mother," Piper said. "I remember when Mom died, we wanted her so much. we needed her so much. But, as wonderful as Grams was, she wasn't the same as Mom. That's what it'll be like for her Leo."

"My Mom died when I was young too," Leo admitted. "That was tough, but we got through it. And so will Melinda. She'll never be short of love."

Piper leant into Leo, still holding Melinda in her arms

"Ready?" Leo asked.

"I'll never be ready," Piper replied.

She sighed, and looked down at the blissful baby.

She didn't know what was happening

She didn't know that her mother's life had ended

And hers had only just begun...

R&R!

The story will get better

It'll basically be the Charmed story as it was, changed because of this one little girl

Prue's little girl

I know, weird

But I thought it would be interesting

R&R if you want me to continue
