His Personal Dungeon

There are moments in between sleeping and waking when the world seems to stop, and to the unguarded, untrained eye and blurred, weary mind, all seems at peace. He rolled over in his bed, feeling the smooth silkiness of the ebony sheets as they washed across his bare skin. He sighed into the darkness, even his breath feeling cold. He wanted to close his eyes forever and block his mind from the pure insanity of the harsh reality all around him. And they wondered why the walls he built so high and thick around him were higher and thicker than any stone of the castle walls? This was his personal dungeon, where he was both guard and prisoner.
