Shadow grinned to himself. Inwardly anyway, allowing a smirk to grace his outer face.

'Faker… You are a fool…' Shadow turned to his side and an actual smile, a fleeting one, graced his face at the sight. A pink haired hedgehog, completely bare save her fur, was snoozing with a small smile on her face. 'Sonic… You always avoided her, you always rejected her…'

Shadow brushed a strand of hair, a pink quill, out of her face. She immediately cuddled against his arm.

'Faker… You gave up something that I would do anything to have… You gave up something I will never hurt, will never reject, will never lose…' Shadow kissed her forehead and went off to sleep.

In the next nine months, Shadow would be doing many crazy things all in the name of love for his new wife, Amy Rose.

And he would say, after Sonic mocked him for doing things like shopping for tons of ice cream, and cookie dough, and chocolate covered broccoli, for being beaten up by a pregnant woman, for getting thrown out of his home for Amy misunderstanding something, that it was more than worth it.
