Reach

I reach for you

You turn away

What did I do wrong?

I try so hard

To pull you back

You used to be so strong

I reach to save

Your tattered dreams

An sew them into one

And yet I know

That when I do

They’ll only come undone

I reach to gather

The shards of heart

Shattered on that day

But when I try

I’m forced to pull

A bloodied hand away

I reach a hand

To brush away

The tears that haunt your cheek

But I can’t get near

I’m pushed aside

You won’t be seen as weak

The razor’s edge

Your favourite place to stand

All I want

Is for you

To turn and take my hand
