"Remind me why I'm here Padfoot?" I stare at the picturesque house before us. It's painted a cheery shade of yellow and has more flowers surrounding it than I've ever seen before. I glance at the grinning boy besides me.
"Because, Mr. Moony, my favorite cousin wants to meet a big bad wolf." He claps me on the back and races to the door. Not bothering to knock, he disappears inside. This is soon followed by a high pitched squeal and a bark of laughter.
I sigh to myself and step inside. Sirius is on the floor, seemingly occupied with a giggling moppet with a shock of pink hair. That's Nymphadora. Her mother is standing in the doorway across the room, watching her daughter and nephew. She glances up at me and I smile.
"Hello Remus." Her daughter's head snaps up at the sound of my name and she struggles out of Sirius' grasp. She leans over and whispers in his ear and I scowl. If they want to talk about me, I'd rather not be in the room. I turn around and move for the door but stop when I feel a slight tugging at my knee. Nymphadora.
She's smiling up at me, her hair hanging in her eyes. I can't resist that face. I lean down and whisper her ear, her eyes widen and she nods. I shake her tiny hand and we turn to Sirius. He gulps and backs away; I see his eyes glance towards all the available exits. Growling, I grab the six-year-olds' hand and leap towards him.
Sirius screams. We laugh. I'm glad I came.

I stare up at the foreboding house in front of me. It was once a grand manor, surely. Now, after years of neglect, the crumbling stones and peeling paint makes me shiver. I can't believe this is wear my mother and cousin grew up.
The Order makes their way up the stairs and Mad-Eye tells me to hurry up. I drag myself up the steps slowly, my pink hair contrasting with the dark stones. Stepping inside I immediately trip over the umbrella stand. Yuck, troll's foot. Kingsley helps me up and I make my way down into the kitchen.
Dung is slumped over the table already, his coat acting as a pillow. Molly Weasley is going through the cupboards looking for any edible food supplies. Bill and Mad-Eye are debating over the goblins. Sirius stands in the corner muttering under his breath. Azkaban took its' toll on him obviously. I start as someone comes down the stairs behind me and manages to slide between the wall and my body. Turning slightly, I stare into the amber eyes of Remus Lupin.
"Remus! How are you?" He blinks in surprise. Guess he didn't think I'd remember him. I haven't seen him since I was six after all.
"Nymphadora. Good god, you look grown up. But-"He takes a stand of my hair-"it seems you haven't changed much."
If anyone else had dared to call me Nymphadora, I'd have killed them.

"WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS LIKE THIS? YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO BE SO DAMN STUBBORN!" Her scream is followed by a crash. She is systematically breaking all of Sirius' mother's china. I sigh and lower my head to the table.
"I want to go Nymph. I need to go." My voice is seemingly calm, but inside I want to scream it, shake her until she understands.
"YOU COULD BE KILLED REMUS!" crash "YOU'RE NOT TRAINED FOR THIS!" crash "I WON'T STAND FOR IT!" crash. Her hair is rapidly changing colors now, pink, blue, red, finally stopping on a violent shade of orange. She's run out of plates, and is moving onto the teacups
I stand up and cover her hands before she can destroy something else. Her breathing is ragged and her eyes are shiny, almost as if she's ready to cry.
Nymphadora never cries.
I back away slightly and sigh again. I can't deal with this. The full moon is in three days, I need to sleep, and I need silence. I need to get away from this. Her. Everything.
"Listen to me Dora. I need to do this. I need to help them. I understand them. But I don't want you mad at me, so just forget about it. Go upstairs and read Witch Weekly if it will distract you. You shouldn't even care; I don't want you to care." Her eyes flash suddenly and she raises her hand as if to strike me. Inches from my face it stops, then gently caresses my cheek.
She whirls away suddenly and runs from the room. I hear her feet on the stairs, scrambling as she trips. They stop somewhere above me and I hear her scream again. Except this time it's more anguished than hysterical. I can't make out what she says. I dash up the stairs, afraid she fell and hurt herself.
She's at the top of the landing, her back against the wall, eyes closed. I creep towards her, she hasn't noticed me yet. She opens her mouth to scream again. This time I hear it perfectly.
"I LOVE YOU REMUS LUPIN!" Her eyes are still closed as she screams, but they open as I drop down next to her.
"I love you too, Nymph, but you don't have to bloody blow out my eardrums." I tilt her head towards me.
If I had been anyone else, she'd have killed me by now.
