Chapter One: Taydr (Death)
“Taydr...” A voice whispers. “Taydr.” A haunted spirit. To be forever damned in the same house that she was killed in. A disturbed ghost who wanted nothing but revenge and wishes for the death of her killer...her namewas Yuna.
A young man who looked no older than sixteen slowly looked over his mother’s shoulder and watched as people outside gathered around to watch the family unpack. A few of them smiled at them...and a few didn’t. He couldn’t help but get an uneasy feeling as he entered the house.
“We move to a great small town, with a great high school, and with great fresh spring weather and what are the flaws of these? The neighbors, they are watching us like goddamn hawks!” The young man observed as he looked out the small white window.
“You might be a little more careful where you say that, boy.” The younger man turned and felt stupid as one of his neighbors-who had volunteered to help-walked towards him. “Don't worry boy, I’m not offended. You see, we folks are just surprised that a nice family such as yours would even think of moving here.”
The younger man gave him a confused look. “Oh, right...my name is Tidus Gellar,” The old man shoo Tidus’s hand. “I’m not following...what’s so bad about this house?”
“You see young man. A few years ago-not too long ago-a beautiful young girl named Yuna lived here with her mother and father. Her mother presumably died from a car crash but nothing of that sort was ever proven. Being that her mother’s murder was such a mystery Yuna sought out to find the truth about her death.
One night...things went too far. Yuna then discovered that her father had murdered her mother. That all we know from what we’ve heard. Everything else seems to be black. They found her dead the next day. Her father moved out and never came back. They say her ghost haunts this place with only one thing in her mind.”
“Revenge?” Tidus finished. “Yeah, the story seems pretty familiar to me. We’ve got a bunch of ‘ghosts’ back in Zanerkand.” The older man cracked a smile.
“You’re bold, kid. Well looks like you folks can handle the rest so I’ll just leave.” Tidus thanked him one last time. “Oh yes...terribly rude of me. My name is Auron.” Tidus shook his hand before walking him to the door. Tidus let out a chuckle as he closed the door behind him.
“Wow, this town is even crazier than I thought.” Tidus stated. ‘Goddamn, why did we have to move here?’ He thought, ‘Life was better in Zanerkand. Now look at me, I’m surrounded by morons.’
“Oh, the heater must be broken. I bet the last owners forgot to fix the damn thing. Tidus do me a favor and try to fix the heater?” Tidus’s mother asked. Tidus was not the one to do any favors for anyone but since he too felt cold he decided it’d be best not to question her.
Tidus walked swiftly into the basement and sighed. ‘How the hell am I supposed to fix this?’ He thought. “Maybe a bang...” He clenched his fists and hit against the heater. He shivered even more. “Damn it’s cold.”
Tidus looked behind him and realized that the basement had gotten bigger. He walked further inside and looked up to the ceiling. “Holy shit...is that blood?” He asked himself. He coughed and ran out to the basement and towards his father.
“Dude, there's fucking BLOOD on the goddamn wall!” He shouted. His father stood from the couch and laughed. “It’s nasty! Why the fuck are you laughing?”
“Well someone did die in this house; maybe it’s their blood.” His father explained, “Stop being such a wuss and clean it off.” Tidus gave him a disgusted look but began to walk back with a bucket of water. He placed a napkin over his mouth as he cleaned off the blood from the ceiling.
‘That goddamn dick-headed father of mine.’ If Tidus had to use one word to describe his day it would have to be, HELL. Tidus was popular and very lucky with the ladies. But all that had been taken away from his father when his father had gotten promoted to Besaid Island. ‘Some promotion.’ He thought.
He felt a cold hand over his shoulder and slowly turned to look. Nothing was there but the cold air; or so he thought. “All done...” He smiled. “That blood will forever give me nightmares...Yuna you must have been one hell of a troublemaker.”
Tidus yawned and began to make his way out of the basement-looking for a good night’s rest. ‘Maybe school will be better.’ He thought.
Little did he know...that a young girl was listening.
