Umm... a fic dedicated to my favourite couple in Inuyasha: Shippou x Souten. Well, in this case, Souten x Shippou .I hope you'll like it, review, and the characters are copyright of Rumiko Takahashi...
What went wrong...?
Hiten... Manten...
I miss you.
What went wrong?
Why did you have to go...?
"Koryuu! KORYUUU!"
Souten ran through the narrow corridor.
"KOR-"
The small crimson dragonshowed up shyly from behind a door. "Hai, Souten-sama?"
"Koryuu... where have I left my brush?"
Souten's black hair fell tangled over her shoulders. The little girl tried not to seem so sleepy by brushing with her tiny hands her large, blood red eyes .
Hiten's same yes...
"I do not know, Souten-sama, I have not seen it..."
"Hell! Where'd that bloody thing be!"
Souten rushed to look for the missing object. She wasn't going to deny that her hair bothered her greatly, but she thanked to take after her father rather than her mother.
Manten hadn't been as lucky...
She lit a candle, and its light cut as a knife the darkness of the room. Outside, the morning sun shone brightly. Inside,it was a continous night. The brush had the unusual custom of showing up in the most unlikely places. Souten, for example, hadn't been to that part of the castle in years, and yet, there she was, looking for the stupid thing. Considerably bothered, she started to inspect the boxes with the objects they contained. One had inside youkai bones, of every shape and size imaginable.
Manten loved to collect them...
She opened another box. This one had sharp weapons and parts of armors.
Doubtlessly, it had been Hiten's...
And whatever Souten did, she felt that each thing, each breath of air remembered her of her , she tried not to think about their deaths. Everytime she did,she also recalled events, persons, that made her tremble...
Hanyous of proud glare, mikos of too short skirts, taijijas with fire cats and enormous hiraikotsus, cursed houshis of libidinous habits, and what was worst, kitsunes, kitsunes of young face and eyes perhaps too green...
Convinced of having gotten over it, she searched through boxes, shelves, drawers and trunks, of many different contents, many times, quite unexpected. Even ghoulish. Horrible things that, perhaps, no girl her age should see, but they didn't affect Souten. And there were no brushes.
Or combs.
Or anything.
There was only one box left. Souten knew that what she was looking for had to be there. It was the only thing she hadn't checked in the entire castle.
But great was her surprise, when after opening the box... she only saw a little package. Curiosity got the best of her, and she ripped the paper around it carefully.
Inside the package, there were only crayons. Common crayons. Souten cried a tear. She shouldn't have found them... melancholy squeezed her young heart.
Holding them tenderly, as though they were a teddy bear, Souten went out of the chamber, leaving the door open, things scattered, packages semi open...
She got running to her room, and let herself fall on her bed, crying, leaving aside with care, the precious crayons...
Hiten... Manten...
I miss you...
Souten cried.
She cried, remembering who had given her that gift.
She still had the drawing she had once made of the kitsune
A kitsune of young face, and green, green eyes.
What went wrong...?
Hiten... Manten...
I miss you.
What went wrong?
Why did you have to go...?
The kitsune...
A kitsune of young, happy face, and green, green eyes...
Shippou.
