Bahorel Dies

I shot a Goddamned soldier and he rose up again, like Lucifer holding a bayonet and charged at me with a roar like a bull's.

And someone moved from behind and I lost my balance, tumbling off the barricade where I landed like a stone on top of his bayonet.

The Goddamned soldier makes a noise like a sheep dying and I join him and our voices mix and sound like fucking sobbing even though it's just because we can't breathe.

But when I look up to take a final breath he smirks at me and dies and I can't help but wonder if he really was Lucifer after all.
