Wants and Needs

Want was a strong emotion, he had learned early on. Want got you a lot of things. Got you where you needed to be.

Want was a strong emotion that got you things for one-time uses.

Need was a delicate emotion, he had learned a little too late. Need hurt too many things. Pulled the strands of affection so taut they could snap any second.

Need was a delicate emotion that got you things that you intended to keep.

Want and need were very different emotions. You didn't always need what you wanted and you didn't always want what you needed.

She knew as well as he did the emotions want and need.

They didn't want to admit that they needed each other.

The nights were long, winter turned to summer and summer got a few degrees hotter. And there was a lot of want but it wasn't until the sun came up they knew the need

The art of wanting what one cannot have is not just that. Its also needing what one doesn't want.
