AN: Sorry if you get this email more than once! I had a rather large error, so I edited it. So it's good now. Anyway, like I said on the summary, it's NickGreg drabbles, probably mostly friendshippy. Some slash, because I  them. And for some reason, the line breaks never come out right. If you've got any ideas, or scene requests, leave them in a review. I love challenges. Actually, that's why I wrote this in the first place. Enjoy!

When he dreams, it’s been 6 months, and the box under the ground has become his grave.

When he dreams, Grissom still drives around randomly, looking for colonies of fire ants, searching, always searching.

When he dreams, Hodges analyzes and reanalyzes everything he can get his hands on, sure he missed something.

When he dreams, Warrick interrogates everyone they’ve everyone put in jail, trying to learn something, anything.

When he dreams, Catherine looks at maps, over and over, making sure there’s not one place they’ve missed.

When he dreams, Sara revisits the crime scene, documenting every detail, looking for something new.

When he dreams, Greg misses him. He wonders what he thought in those last hours underground every time they get the shovels out, he wonders if he can see them now, and he hopes he’s at peace.

He wakes up night after night in a cold sweat, to claustrophobic for the sheets. The house, even, seems too small for him sometimes.

He paces around the living room for a few minutes before settling into his favorite chair, and picks up the phone. The tone soothes him as the dials the familiar number, waiting for Greg’s sleep-laced voice to answer, and when he hears it, he lets out a deep breath.

“Hey,” he says, closing his eyes and letting his head fall back.

There’s a pause before Greg answers, and he thinks he can hear him begin to breathe easier. “Hey,” he finally answers.

When he dreams now, they’re laughing, walking down the strip and talking about what they would do if they ever became rich.
