Okay folks, last chapter! I’m sorry it’s so short, I just ran out of inspiration. Thanks to everyone who read, reviewed, and praised :)

Disclaimer: Nope, don’t own it.

Chapter 3 – Goodnight

“Yum!” Kisa exclaimed as she popped some cotton candy into her mouth. She loved how the blue fluffy candy dissolved on her tongue. “Here, have some, Hiro-chan!” She ripped a piece of her cotton candy off and held it close to Hiro’s face. He looked stunned for a moment, then opened his mouth wide and stuck out his tongue at her. Kisa giggled. “You’re making a funny face, Hiro-chan!” Before the embarrassed boy could reply, she placed the morsel on his tongue. He closed his mouth, waiting for the candy to dissolve.

“My turn,” he said, snatching the cotton candy away from her.

“Hey—” Kisa protested, but was cut off by a piece of blue fluff sticking half-way into her mouth. She grinned and ate the cotton candy that Hiro had fed her. By the time they were done eating it and had thrown the stick away, the sky was beginning to darken and the sun was beginning to set.

“They day went by quickly, ne, Hiro-chan?” Kisa said contentedly, staring at the sky. She looked down at the ground. “I guess we should head home soon, or okaa-san will worry.”

“How about one more ride, and then we go home, okay?” Hiro suggested, not wanting to go home yet. Kisa nodded. “What would you like to go on, Kisa?”

The girl looked thoughtful for a moment, then her eyes lit up with her smile. “How about that, Hiro-chan?” She pointed towards the tall, slowly spinning Ferris Wheel.

“Er…” Hiro, unbeknownst to Kisa, was terrified of heights. “Are you sure you want to go on that one?” He asked, gulping.

“Hiro-chaaaan,” Kisa said in a sing-song voice. “Are you afraid of heights?”

“Wha—no!” Hiro denied. “Of course I’m not afraid of heights!”

“Good! Then let’s go!” Kisa grabbed his hand and lead him towards the ride. Soon they were stepping into their mini-gondola. Hiro gulped and stared at the floor, jumping in surprise when the gondola jerked forward. He gripped Kisa’s hand just a little bit tighter.

“Brr, it’s cold up here!” Kisa said as she nestled closer to Hiro.

“I know,” Hiro said, grinning as Kisa leaned against him. He draped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer, his fear of heights completely forgotten. Kisa, who really was cold, snuggled closer still. The pair of them sat like that for the entire ride, taking in the view. They didn’t talk, and they didn’t need to. All too soon for both of them, the ride was over, and they were getting off the gondola and heading for home, hand-in-hand.

As they exited the park, a comfortable silence settled over the couple. They were happy just holding each other’s hand as they walked up the path.

“I wonder where neko-san is?” Kisa wondered as they passed the scary house on their way to the bus stop. Hiro rolled his eyes and laughed. The bus ride was pleasant as well, and Hiro was all too eager to make sure that they didn’t miss their stop this time. Before he knew it, he was at Kisa’s doorstep.

“Well… ano…” Hiro stuttered, turning a bit pink. “Goodnight, Kisa-chan.”

“Goodnight, Hiro-chan!” Kisa said, smiling. She stood on her tiptoes and kissed him gently on the lips. Hiro’s tinge of pink turned into a full-blown blush. Kisa giggled and turned to walk through her own door, turning and waving to him before shutting it behind her.

Hiro, for all he was worth, stood there, unsure that he hadn’t just imagined that. He raised to fingers to his lips. Then a wide grin spread across his face and he spun around on his heel, walking calmly away from Kisa’s house.

I’ll just have to return that little favor tomorrow, he thought happily to himself as he headed home.

A/N: Okay, that’s all! Thanks for reading, everybody! I hope it wasn’t too cheesy and everyone was in character. Don’t forget to leave a review telling me what you thought! And I’m sorry it was so short, but all my inspiration is currently being sucked up by my other fic, Superstition. Once again, thanks for reading!

Love and peace,
Ashuton-chan
