April Fool's Day Joke
by SVZ
Tezuka didn't comment. He did, however, look slightly uncomfortable.
"You really shouldn't have given him that book for his birthday," Ryoma muttered.
"I did ask you beforehand if you thought it was an appropriate gift," Tezuka responded mildly.
"You should have trusted someone else's opinion." Ryoma surveyed the room and sighed.
The empty locker room was artistically decorated with toilet paper and quite a lot of it, the baskets of tennis balls were overturned , and all the tennis shoes were all tied to each other to form one long string of them. In silly string, "Happy April Fool's Day!" was written out on the wall as well as assorted other graffiti that were on the lockers, backpacks and team jackets that were carelessly left behind.
Ryoma was impressed on how fluent Fuji's English was. Tezuka didn't find it quite as amusing.
Tezuka felt a headache coming on. He should have never bought Fuji that book on American Customs, even if Fuji's boyfriend was Japanese American. He took out his cellphone and typed a quick text message.
"Buchou?" Ryoma asked, curious.
Tezuka hit the "send" button. Fuji- 100 laps. Clean up locker room and lock up when you're done.
"Nya... Buchou..."
"Echizen?"
Ryoma smirked and dug out his own cellphone from his bag (which was the only one that wasn't covered with toilet paper and silly string. Thoughtful of Fuji, really) and also text messaged Fuji. Buchou and I are eloping.
In all seriousness, Ryoma turned to his captain and advised him wisely, "Run."
