Central Park was surprisingly busy for that time of day. Aiden sat on a bench, not far away from her crime scene. An old man was with his wife, hand in hand, enjoying the New York weather, a business man eating his lunch, rushing past all the people surrounding him to his destination. A woman was walking with her baby, her baby smiling at all the flowers and people passing it by and then there was Aiden. She sat and watched it all, analysing every little details of grass, flowers and people which surrounded her. A hand placed on her shoulder startling her and she looked up. It was Don Flack. He smiled and came and sat next to her, not saying a word. The silence grew and the world pasted them by. She couldn’t take the silence anymore. “Flack, do you think I’m pretty?”

“No.” Her smile faded slightly, Flack’s stare not leaving the floor.

“Would you want to be with me forever?”

“No.” His stare still on the floor.

“If I were to leave would you cry?”

“No.” His stare still on the floor and her smile totally faded. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing, she had heard enough. She got up and walked away, tears flowing down her face. Flack got up and grabbed her arm and pulled her next to him, staring into her brown eyes. “You’re not pretty, you’re beautiful. I don’t want to be forever, I need to be with you forever and I wouldn’t cry if you left I’d die.” He cupped her cheek and wiped away her tears. “Aiden, would you like to go out on a date with me?”

“No…I’d love too.” They smiled, he kissed her gently. She smiled and he stroked her hair. He put his arm around her and she rested her head on his shoulder. They sat in silence and for Aiden that was fine. She raised her head from his shoulder and kissed Flack gently on the cheek. He smiled and stroked her hair. He got up and she felt like he was about to leave. He walked over to a guy with a basket of flowers. He came back over and in his hand a single red rose.

She took the rose in her hand and caught her finger on one of the thorns. She rested the flower in her lap and looked at the blood coming to the surface of her skin. Flack took a tissue out of his pocket and wiped away the blood. It stopped bleeding and he kissed her gently, causing her to blush slightly. She brought the flower from her lap to her nose, enjoying its sweet smell. She smiled and Flack got up from the bench and stood in front of her. He held out his hand and she took it. They walked through the park hand in hand and to his SUV where they drove off to work.
