Quark saw Keiko O'Brien approach the holosuite he knew her husband was in.

"Rom, where is Keiko going?"

"I gave her the code to open the suite; she wants to surprise Miles!"

Quark frowned, wondering if he should contact the Chief. He knew they were in there. He also knew O'Brien hadn't been wearing his wedding ring while his wife was on Earth.

A few moments later, Bashir tore out of the holosuite, followed by an incensed Keiko. It took several minutes for Miles to emerge, stunned, as if all the life had gone out of him.

Perhaps it had.

(A/N Part Deux: At the end of "Field of Fire," if you look closely, O'Brien isn't wearing his wedding ring. Granted, he's an Engineer, but he was relaxing in the bar. Why wouldn't he be wearing it there? Food for thought.)
