Author’s Note: Hi this is my first Fan Fic ever! I decided to start writing fan fics after reading Slashaplooza’s fan fics. Go and read them. I Command You! Anyways credits to the last names Masaki and Harada go to Slashy herself.

Category: Adventure. Romance. There will be some humor of course.

Spoilers: No spoilers to the game itself.

Setting: High School. Destiny Islands.

Chapter One: In the Beginning.

He sat there lying on his bed. Staring up at the ceiling. Tomorrow was the last day of school. Wondering what he would do for summer vacation, he sat up and looked out his window.

He brushed his silvery hair out of his aquamarine eyes. There, far away from the main island, was a much smaller island. Suddenly he remembered that that island has never been explored yet. Dreams about what it would be like if he was one of the first people to walk upon it filled his head.

Him and his friends could go there over summer. These thoughts filled his mind until he fell into a deep sleep.

“BEEP-BEEP-BEEP”
“Ugh,” Riku sighed. Finally the last day of school was here. He leaped out of his bed, tripped over his backpack and went head first into his dresser.
“Riku, What was that?” Riku could hear his mom shouting.
“Nothing, Mom.” Riku answered back, rubbing his head.

He pulled himself back up and opened his dresser looking for what to wear. Picking out a plain black t-shirt and jeans.

He got to the bathroom and jumped in the shower. It was nice, and warm, just the way he preferred it. After the shower, he spent a good 15 minutes combing his hair. Glanced at the mirror, smirked, and ran downstairs.

“Finally,” His mother, Alvara Masaki, said when he entered the kitchen. “What took you so long?”

“Nothing. Just getting ready.”
”Well I got some news,” she said while smiling. She too had silver hair like

Rikus'. Hers was much more maintained though.

“Yeah?” Riku asked now extremely curious.

“Well me and Vanessa are going on a cruise for the entire summer,” she responded, waiting for a response. Vanessa Harada was his best friend’s mom.

“Oh. What about Sora?” Sora was his best friend since they were little kids.
“Well we decided that since you are old enough,” she said, “You two would stay here for the summer.” This was excellent news to Riku. Now he could go on the trip to that island with Sora.
“Sounds Good,” Riku said quickly.
Alvara let out a sigh. “Thank goodness.”
“We are going to be leaving right after you get home from school”
“Okay,” Riku said smiling.

“Oh! You better get going. Don’t want to be late.”

Riku grabbed his pack, said good-bye to his mom and left.

He stepped out onto the street towards the school. He could see Sora just down the road.

“SORA!” He yelled. Sora turned around and smirked, his brown spiky hair swaying with him as he turned.. His bright blue eyes looking directly at Riku.
“I was almost about to leave,” Sora said as Riku caught up.

“Sorry,” Riku replied, “Did your mom tell you about their trip?”
“Yup. It is going to be great,” He said.

“Well I was thinking we could go on a bit of an adventure,” Riku said staring directly into Sora’s eyes.

Sora smiled and said, “Aw, Neat!”

“Yeah but we are going to ask the others to come with us, okay?”

“Okay. Sounds like it is going to be great!” Sora exclaimed.

They made their way down the street to a nice blue house. Riku walked up to the door and rang the doorbell.

“Coming!” he could hear a sweet voice yell.

The door swung open to reveal a girl with blue eyes and brown hair that goes down to her shoulders. Her name was Kairi Rian.

“Hey Kairi,” Riku said to her.

“Hey Riku, Sora.”

She shut the door behind her and ran down the steps towards Sora. She instantly locked lips with him.

“Ahem,” Riku aid impatiently. Sora and Kairi had been going out for quite some time now and they did that every day.

“Hey Kairi,” Sora said blushingly.

“Hey Sweetie.”

“Sorry to break up this Hallmark moment but we have to get going,” Riku said.

They continued down the street until they got to a large white and blue house. Riku, again, walked up and rang the doorbell. It instantly swung opened.

“Hi,” the girl said.

“Hey Naminé,” Riku said. Naminé Soule had blond hair that, like Kairi’s, went down to the shoulders. She too had blue eyes that you could get lost in.

“See you later, Mom!” She yelled to her mother and closed the door.

She walked down the steps with Riku and joined the group of friends.

They started walking down towards their school. Every time Riku and Naminé made eye contact, Riku would blush. He has had a crush on her every since she first moved to the islands two years ago.

Finally, they reached their school. It was easily 3 floors high. It had a big entrance way with large columns holding it up.

They entered through the main entrance and made their ways towards their lockers.

“I need to talk to all of you at lunch, okay?” Riku asked the group. They all nodded in agreement except for Kairi who was to busy looking at Sora.

They all broke off towards their first classes. Riku had Science with Sora. He got his books from his locker and waited for Sora. Sora decided to bring up the little ‘Adventure’ Riku started to tell him about.

“Where are we going to go?”

“I’ll tell you at lunch,” Riku replied. This was his answer for most of the questions Sora asked on the way to Science class.

They got to the door of the Science room, only to find out that it was locked.

“I don’t understand why we have to work on the last day of school,” Riku said curiously.

“I don’t get it either,” Sora said back to him. They stayed there for a while, until the teacher came, and opened the door.

They walked into the Science room and took seats at the far back. The rest of the class silently filed into the room.

“Since today is the last day of school, I’ve prepared a little treat!” Mr. Hiyateh said. The entire class sat up excitedly.

“We are going to go outside and observe Mountain formations!” Mr. Hiyateh said over joyed.

He led them out of the school through the nearest exit and continued to lead them around the school. Riku and Sora however, stayed just outside the exit.

Riku found them a good patch of grass and laid down in it, staring at the sky. More thoughts about the trip and Naminé filled his head. Sora sat down right beside him and was staring into his eyes.

“I’m coming to your house after school, right?” Sora suddenly asked.

“Yeah, I think so,” Riku replied back to him still looking up at the sky.

They continued to talk about things until the bell rang. Sora helped Riku up and they went back into the classroom and got their books. There was only one more period until Lunch. Riku had French class next with Kairi. He always dreads that class because Kairi is always talking to him.

He said good-bye to Sora and headed towards French class. After stepping into the classroom, he noticed that there were no desks in there.

“Bonjour,” Madame Rowling said to him.

“Bonjour,” he replied without thinking about it.

He took a seat on the floor and within two seconds Kairi was beside him.

“Bonjour Riku,” she said to him.

“Bonjour”

“Je deteste parler dans la Francois,” She said to him.

“Pourquoi?”

“Je suis aussi stupide!” She exclaimed.

The rest of the class filled the room while Kairi was still talking.

“Bonjour Classe,” Madame Rowling said.

“Bonjour Madame Rowling,” they all replied back to her.

“Today we will be a free period,” She said to them. “You may do whatever you want as long as it is in French,”

“Madame Rowling!” Kairi said hopping up with her hand waving in the air.

“Oui?”

“Pouvons- Riku et moi aller dehors ?”

“Oui,” Madame Rowling said.

Kairi grabbed Riku’s arm and pulled him to the Courtyard.

“You can get away with anything. Can’t you?” Riku asked her.

“Of course.”

The courtyard had a magnificent fountain surrounded by benches and plants. They sat on the fountain edge.

“So what is this thing at lunch?”

“Well I was thinking about going to that island. You know the one that no one ha ever been on before,” Riku said.

Kairi’s mouth dropped opened. It was a moment before she came back into reality.

“Oh.,” She said. “Is Sora going?”

“Yeah,”

“Then I’ll go too,” She said in a determined voice.

“Ok-“ Riku couldn’t finish because the bell signaling lunchtime just rang.

He ran back into the French room and got his bags. Then left for the big oak tree where they usually eat their lunch.

Naminé was already at the tree when Riku arrived. She was just sitting there drawing in her sketchbook.

“Hey,” Riku said to her as he walked up to her and sat down beside her. “What are you drawing?”

“Just the scenery,” she replied without looking up at him.

“Oh. Well it looks great,”

She blushed and replied “Thanks,”

The others had now sat down by the tree.

“So what is this ‘Adventure’ about then, Riku?” Sora asked.

“Well I thought we would go to that uncharted island,”

Sora’s eyes gleamed now, “How Cool. Count me in.”

“If Sora is going, I’m going!” Kairi said quickly.

“What about you Naminé?” Riku asked her.

“Um… Okay I’ll come too.”

“Great. We are going to meet at my house at 6 o’clock,” Riku said to the others.

They continued to talk about what it was going to be like to be the first people to reach an island. However, they did not know a girl with brown hair and green eyes had over heard them.

The bell signaling the end of the school had just rung and Riku was making his way to his locker. He opened it and took out his backpack glad that school was finally over. He shut his looker and started to walk over to Sora’s locker. Sure enough Sora was kissing Kairi again.

Riku grabbed Sora’s backpack closed the door and waited for them to tune in to reality.

“Oh…hi…Riku,” Sora could make out through his moans of pleasure.

“Yeah, Right. Okay come on Sora you’ll see Kairi at 6”

He pulled them apart and headed out the door. They were walking up to his house when they heard a voice behind him.

.”I heard about your plans to go to that island,” the mysterious voice said.

Riku and Sora quickly turned around to see Selphie Laraway, a girl with unnatural curved brown hair. Her green eyes glaring at them.

“What?” Sora said quickly.

“I heard you guys talking at lunch. I want to come,”

“I don’t, Think so,”

“Well then I guess I will just have to tell the authorities on you,”

“Oh. Riku?”

“Fine you can come,” Riku said to her, “Meet us at the docks at like six thirty.”

“Splendid! See you then!” She said cheerfully as she skipped home..

Sora waited until she was out of earshot then said, “I can’t believe this!”

“Yeah I know. But maybe her coming with us wont be such a bad thing.”

They reached the house and opened the door to find Vanessa and Alvara with all their bags packed waiting for the cab to come.

“Thank goodness you’re here!” they said at the same time causing them to giggle.

“Sorry we are late,” Riku said.

They could hear a car horn from outside.

“That would be the cab,” Alvara said.

“We got to go. We’ll miss you,” Vanessa said starting to grab her bags.

They gave their sons a hug and left.

“Hmm. What to do until 6?” Riku asked soon after they left.

“I know,” Sora replied excitingly

“DING-DONG”

“I’ll get it. I’ll get it!” Sora yelled as he raced to the door. Riku heard a great thud!

“Wha-“ He found out what made the noise. Kairi had pounced on Sora and they were now making out.

“Hey Riku,” said a sweet voice

“Hey Naminé.”

“They do that all the time,” she said, “Gets kind of annoying don’t you think?”

“Defiantly. Why don’t you come into the living room?”

“Okay,”

They made their way back into the Living room and sat on the couch waiting for Kairi and Sora. It was a good 15 minutes until they came into the living room.

“Okay. Just to let you guys know, Selphie is coming with us.”

They all moaned.

“All of our stuff is in a boat at the docks, where Selphie is waiting,” Riku added.

They made their way towards the docks and sure enough, Selphie was there.

“Finally you guys get here,” She said looking at her watch.

“Okay. Let’s get onto the boat,” Riku said completely ignoring Selphie.

They traveled for a good two hours. Everything that was once calm and peaceful was now disastrous. They were caught in the middle of a storm. With the waves pushing them every which way. This went on for a couple minutes until they were all thrown over board.

“Riku….Riku..” a faint voice said in his ear.

He opened his eyes to see Naminé standing above him.

“Naminé…”

“Riku we are stranded on this island. The others are separated else where on the island!” she said in a terrified voice.

Riku got up and helped her up too. Within a second his body was in contact with Naminé. He put his arms around her.

“Riku I’m scared”

“Don’t Worry. I’m here”

He felt warm drops of water touch his skin and he realized that she was crying. He held her tightly and they stayed like that for a long time until they heard a scream.

“It came from the forest!” Naminé said still with terror in her voice.

R-K: End of the first Chapter!

Riku: You left it at a cliffhanger….

R-K: So?

Naminé: People hate those.

R-K: Oh…

Riku: Well this was your first chapter for your first fan fic. You’ll Learn.
