who am I; why am I here

what are these that I hold so dear

what is this death that I have felt

who are those with whom I've dealt

what is a soul and where does it go

from container to container does it flow

where does this phantom spirit end

when is it all just charade and pretend

from what place comes my hunger and pain

the place where my thoughts and memories are lain

what is the future that I hope to obtain

when everything is done with so little gain
